Dragonflight Pre-Patch DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings, Day 1

Update: if you're looking for a less preliminary bunch of stats, the week 1 DPS, tank and healer rankings are now ready, with some included explanations from our guide writers! Head on over here to check them out.

______________________________________________

The pre-patch is upon us and it's chaos all over, as the new talents mix in with Covenant abilities and legendaries, as well as Fated raids. We're taking a look at some extremely preliminary numbers (as  only the first day is done for EU players), mostly for fun to see some giant changes. We'll be checking back in at our regular time for the actual, stable numbers at the start of next week. As all raids are Fated as of the pre-patch and there's no more weekly rotation, Warcraft Logs have decided to only show stats for the Sepulcher of the First Ones, so that's what we'll be looking at.

Mythic

95th Percentile

It's an entirely new group at the top in this new pre-patch age, but it seems it's time to amend that old quote, as it seems nothing is certain except death, taxes... and Warlocks being on top of the rankings. That doesn't mean nothing has changed, as it's actually Affliction taking over things from the bottom, leaping 18 spots up. Both previous Warlock rulers of the charts drop way down, and the almost permanent king of the last patch finds itself in the bottom 3, with the other "only" dropping 16 spots. Windwalkers rise only 6 spots, which would usually be a huge deal but is only a mild shift in this chaos, with Fire gaining a solid 10 and Retribution 7. The top 5 is filled out by the most stable spec here, as Frost DK only loses 2 spots. Enhancement makes an appearance, very much out of nowhere, with Arms and Havoc also coming up from the bottom, as another DK rounds out the top 10, falling 6 spots.

All Percentiles

The generalist bracket is very similar to the high percentiles, with some smaller changes in the top. But the bottom is almost the same, with Demonology suffering an even bigger change of fate here, finding itself in the penultimate spot, only better than Subtletly, after months of being No.1 by a large margin.

Tanks and Healers

Even tanks are seeing big changes in their DPS rankings, and while Druids remain at the top, they are doing and insane amount of damage right now, matching some of the top DPS specs! There's definitely some crazy talent/legendary interactions going on there, or some other bug. Meanwhile Vengeance moves out of last place into 2nd, Brewmasters out of 5th into 3rd, as the other 3 all drop down.

Healers have a new top spec with Holy Priest (at least for these few days), with Druids dropping to 2nd, and the rest remaining as it was before.

Heroic DPS

Heroic is also following suit with Mythic, as Enhancement and Arms rise even higher, as those specs were always doing better in the easier mode.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, for a DPS tier list you can go here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs. You can also check out our Fated raid guides.

Not sure why they can't get all tanks to tank equally as effective, but in their own unique way, healers to heal equally as effective, but in their own way and dps to deal damage just as effectively, but in their own way......it would be a win-win in my opinion, but noooooo, they got to be so radically different.

You do realize they are trying to achieve that usually, but... there is so much to take into account at all times, that it's quite literally impossible to do so? Like... These classes/speccs are great at doing different things in different ways. This specc has great dots, this specc has great aoe, this specc has great single target... And you expect them all to do the same amount of damage?

Situations are different, so speccs are handling them different ways. If everyone did the same damage in every situation, just played a tad differently, the game would be beyond boring.

The same mostly applies for tanks/healers, just a bit differently 'in their own way'.

Affliction will likely fall like a brick once they lose Decimating Bolt. It's empowering 3 Drain Souls instead of 1. It's like 70% of their damage or something.

You have to take in consideration that since Tier sets are turned off and many are relying on Covenant power alone. Along with people adjusting to new paths in the Talent Tree System.  The full allocation, future gained points, of the Talent tree won't be available till DF launches and we all start climbing to Lv70.  If you are a hardcore Mythic World First contender you might want to wait to see how things will adjust up to the new DF raid.  Blizzard has a natural habit of making abrupt changes to class-specializations with nerfs/buffs before starting on progressive new tier content on the live servers.  As for the Heroic AOTC and the casual players go do your own thing and enjoy the new expansion at your own pace.  Till the new Raid is released this will be the time for the avgerage player to get reaccustomed to their favorite classes and adjust to new/altered rotations for gameplay.

Could they at least make an attempt to even look like they're trying..?

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
