[Frost] Some help with my Frost-Mage - Optimisation

Hi guys - I´m currently just farming the SooRaid until the release of WoD. We are preparing for MythicRaiding and so Dps is getting more important at the moment. The problem is that i´m ways under my SimDPS in many fights and it would be great if someone could assist me and just look through my Logs.

Hey Ziggz!

 

Berlinia, a moderator on the mage forums, is really good at going in-depth about optimization, so I would just give him some time to reply!  Would it be possible you could log off the game in your frost spec/gear, because you are currently in arcane so we can't give any suggestions based upon your armory.  To get you started, here are a couple things I noticed from your logs:

 

1.) Your Invocation up-time is pretty good, but there are a lot of fights where it was at about 90%.  Do your best to get this up-time to as close to 100% as possible.  

 

2.) Same thing with bomb uptime.  Overall it's pretty good, but there are some fights where it's at 85-90% (This excludes fights like Nazgrim/Galakras, since downtime is integrated into the fight).  Make sure you are refreshing your bomb before it fades, ideally in the final 1.5 seconds that it has left.  This will ensure as close to a 100% uptime as possible.

 

3.) On all of the fights I looked at, you don't use a second potion.  This is really important, especially for mages since Alter Time can extend the duration of it.  

 

4.) Probably the most major thing relates to your CD usage.  Make sure that you're not just using Icy Veins when it comes off cooldown.  There are a lot of fights where you should have delayed your Alter Time and waited until your third PBoI proc comes up.  Since you can only use Alter Time twice in most encounters, make sure that you are delaying this Alter Time until you get the maximum amount of procs up.  Also make sure to use your potion with your second Alter time as well.

Hello to you Ziggs,

 

There is nothing terribly major that I can find that hasn't already been mentioned by Sikkz (did you guys steal eachothers name or something)? Anyways, I would like to invite you if you are interested to discuss your logs via TS as that saves me alot of troube and frustration as to grammar and typing.

Would you be interested for that? I have already done it with a guy named Liquidsteel (he is quite an active warlock damn him) and i feel it went better than if i wrote a wall of text for him xD

If that was to take place it would happen either sunday post 12:00 or Saturday before 15;00 European Server Time
