Welfarebob 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2014 Hi, I am in full prideful gear and do I have time to get full raid findre gear with only a month left for WoD? And is Timeless isle gear better or PVP gear better for rep grinding in timeless isle? Let me know thank you! I wanna get a two set piece
Failhard 2 Report post Posted September 18, 2014 This should probably be in the DK sub forum instead of general.I don't know why you think you want to get full raid finder gear with a month left, the 528 ilvl will most likely not be "squished" to be equal to pvp gear; or should I say the 550 pvp gear won't be squished down to equal with 528. As far as the probability of it happening before they uncap the bonus rolls you can purchase (warforged seals) I'm going to bet you all the gold I have, it won't happen. However, once you can purchase and roll unlimited bonus rolls you could keep running LFR to get the pieces you "need". timeless gear is worse than raid finder gear. it shouldn't really matter what gear you are in if you are in a rep farming party, which is probably the best way to farm that also useless rep. Archimage 98 Report post Posted September 18, 2014 There are 2 problems when using PvP gear for PvE: 1. Hit & Expertise requirements go up from 6% to 15%, so if you are only using your PvP gear, you are going to miss alot. 2. PvP set bonuses focus on Controlling the fight, PvE set bonuses focus on damage. Using the PvP Weapons are ok. You can start at Flex/Normal with full Prideful gear, just make sure to reforge into hit&expertise when doing PvE, and back to normal when doing PvP. Going to cost alot. Storm 426 Report post Posted September 18, 2014 a full set of 550pvp gear is better than a full set of 528 LFR gear, as long as you reforge for hit/exp caps. I'd start running Flex to get PVE trinkets and replace a few of your pieces with some 540 PVE gear and then you should be fine for normal. If your concern is mostly getting gear to level in WoD then I'd focus on doing Flex Garrosh for a weapon over everything else. by level 100 the Flex, Normal, and Heroic BoA's will all scale to the exact same ilvl, so you're only losing out over a heroic raider for the first few levels into the expansion. Also the legendary cape is probably an important item to try to get, and there should still be time. The ilvl 608 probably won't be replaced until deep into leveling, possibly not until you reach 100 and start doing 100 dungeons. Beyond that I wouldn't worry too much about gearing for the xpac if you're 550 pvp geared already. A 580+ heroic raider may have some pieces that don't get replaced until level 100, but you aren't going to get there in a month. If history repeats itself, Flex/Normal SoO raid gear will be mostly replaced by level 95 blues.
Cupidx 5 Report post Posted September 19, 2014 Yeah, pretty much what Storm said. I would suggest running flex every week to try and get your heirlooms. Trinkets are only going to be important if you actually want to PvE, but they are a pretty big part of your DPS. Lastly would be the cloak, which should be easily obtainable before WoD. They're taking out the Valor part, and keeping the Black Prince buff until WoD.
