Marauder Cluster Arrow Demon Hunter

Thanks for the guide. Got a few questions and comments aswell.

1. If we're talking about cubing Dawn then we can talk about 65% CDR of Vengreance not 60%.

2. Hellfire amulet. There's no need to try to get Ambush or Steady Aim on the amulet. The amulet is fine as far as it has one of the passives from the build on it: Awareness, Custom Engineering, Cull of the Weak, Ballisics, Amush or Stready Aim.

3. Why prioritize CHC over CHD? Or just prioritize which one gives you higher dps? What about the old 1:10 ratio?

(Sorry if I said something stupid. I haven't played Diablo for months. Just hopped on 2.4 yesterday again. Feels good to be back).

"The active pop also nets you the a.png Spider Companion slow, the b.png Boar Companion taunt, the e.png Ferret Companion health globe grab and the c.png Wolf Companion 30% damage increase."

This is severely wrong. You only net the active benefit of the rune you have selected, NOT all pets on the field. Obvious mark that the writer of this guide does not fully understand how the DH set functions.

Yes you do. You get all the rune's effects. It works the same way shadow power does in the Shadow set. I have the bat rune selected when I play and every time I hit companion I get 30% dmg increase from wolves, my boar taunts, etc

No It's not wrong test it yourself. If i activate my Wolf i get the hatred from the bat for example! Check your facts!

I wonder what's the relative value of RCR and Area damage-wise in this build. What affix would be better to roll for in your ring slots?

1. Typo! Thanks.

2. Any of the recommended base 4 passives will be great, absolutely. I worded it this way for the sake of brevity, I'll consider rephrasing.

3. 1:10 is not a bad rule of thumb, but it doesn't give a complete picture (like a d3planner DPS calculation would, for example). Regardless, at the current rate of gearing and paragon leveling, it's unlikely you will have to choose between one or the other for an extended period of time.

I wonder what's the relative value of RCR and Area damage-wise in this build. What affix would be better to roll for in your ring slots?

With permanent Seethe taking care of your resource needs, I would definitely go for Area Damage.

So, I've been using this build, and I really having a problem with my armor or resistances.  I've got a couple diamonds here and there, but I get absolutely wrecked by poison and electrical abilities.  Any tips on this?

Could you please show the math difference for Cloak of the Garwulf cubed vs Visage of Gunes? Not sure what's additive or  multiplicative.

Also, do you happen to know if the shadow clones from Haunt of Vaxo count as companions for Zoey's Secret?

How does CDR work ?

With this build I need to get to 38% or so to get full up time on Vengeance

12,5% from gem in head + 10% from paragon = 22,5%

So i need another 16% from gear te get there.

I got 8% on quiver + 8% on 1 ring + 8% on shoulders = 24%

In the details screen the total only gets to 38.6 %

If i remove my quiver from gear i drop to 33,33%

Why is 8% CDR not 8%. It seems that i only get 5,3% from gear.

If i remove paragon points i drop to 31.8%. So also there i do not drop the full 10%

I have 2 suggestions to make:

Hou about a section into legendary potions, what would be the best one for each class/build? What about this class/build for example? Can you talk about or write about it just a bit? I'd love to know a bit more about it.

Also, i saw someone here on forums talking abou paragorn point distribution, especially about the core tab. We should put points on move speed only to compliment cap, then all other points on dex? Zero points in the other 2 categories? Is that true? if it is so, then why not remove the other 2 stat priorities? Would make things way more clear.

Ty in advance, and great job Deadset!

I'm using this build, but use an ancient Yang's Recurve as the weapon, and got Manticore in the cube. I can spam cluster arrow permanently with that kind of cost reduction.

Cloak of the Garwulf offers comparable DR to visage of Gunes, plus two more wolves to deal damage and block up chokepoints.

The 9% DR per companion from the belt is additive. Normally Maruader has 7 companions, for 63% DR. Adding two more raises that by 18%, to a total 81%.

The Visage of Gunes calculates its 50% separately, so you're effectively getting the remaining 37% halved, which works out to 18.5%.

I don't have any hard math on how much the extra wolves add to your damage capability, but I'm confident in saying Garwulf is also an extremely viable contender for the cube slot.

That is correct, I will be adding it as an alternative in the Cube.

Thanks dude! Legendary pots rarely if ever make any difference in a run, so that's why I've skipped them so far. You are correct in your thoughts of Paragon distribution, you cap on Movement Speed and put the rest in Dexterity. Vitality can only be considered if you have sub-par Toughness and you feel like you get oneshot too much (although that's hard to gauge on a DH - you get oneshot a lot by default). With the resource management tools already present in the build increasing Maximum Hatred should not be needed.

CDR is multiplicative, not additive. The gem is 12.5%, and when you add in the 10% from paragon you get 21.25%, not 22.5% ( 1- ((1-.125) * (1-.10)) = 1 - (.7875) = .2125).

I've been enjoying an Ancient Yang's recurve with Dawn cubed for pretty much non stop multi shot except for the occasional primary resource thrown in to get the focus/restraint ring bonus..

There's arrows everywhere smile.png

Thanks for the build suggestions

I have been using a similar build, but I use Multi-shot and Elemental Arrow with the lightning ball.

Using the slow ability from a quiver (can't remember the name) keeps that Lighting ball on top of monsters for a long while.  Multishot mows lower levels down.  I use evade for my hate generator.  Use the two extra wolves from the armor and the gem that improves their damage/defense and the belt that gives me a bonus for that.  I use Vengeance for when I need Hatred.  I had been having problems on Torment 8, with this build, I have been running Torment 9 without an issue.  Will move up to T10 since adding the ring power that stuns with electrical.

Check if you have Elective Mode enabled in Options -> Gameplay tab. This allows you to slot any skill (almost) anywhere on your buttons, and allows multiple skills from the same category.

I see a lot of people on the ladder rolling cluster arrow damage% over vitality on the headslot , what do you think about that?

Yes, those would be the stats. But the belt should really be Zoey's Secret, as the guide recommends!

Hard to say what's wrong like that, perhaps you could link me to your character and I could give you specific advice?

That's most probably done to squeeze every last bit of possible DPS out of the character, at the cost of (a lot) of Toughness. You can go the same route, but you'll need to work on reflexes too - the more Toughness you drop, the less you'll have to get hit. :)

hello , im not sure if the question is appropriate but - which manticore would you choose between those 2 - https://gyazo.com/4c7890c3c85db1d874de894f90daecb8? - i have 40% cdr w the 3153 one , and i could get to 37% w the 2843 one but the 2843 has higher CA% [2%], more dex[152], higher cost reduction[49%vs44%] and area damage[24%] and could enchant for more wep damage or phys% damage(which stat would you enchant if the 2843 is better)?

Hello, I would use the Manticore with Area Damage and reroll the base damage :) Make that 1754 top end get as close to the perfect 1940 as possible.

Hello,

After playing a bit with the bugged S2/M4 setup on the 2.4.1 PTR, I came up with a variation for full M6 that seems to be a lot of fun for me at the moment. Thought I'd share.

Calling it Fire and Maneuver based on the playstyle it evokes.

Equipped:

Using full M6 set in armor slots

Sword of Ill Will

Bombardier's Rucksack

Traveler's Pledge

Compass Rose

Elusive Ring

Wraps of Clarity

Zoey's Secret

Cube:

Spines of Seething Hatred

Cloak of the Garwulf

Convention of Elements

Gems:

Bane of Trapped

Bane of Stricken

Zei's Stone of Vengeance

Emeralds in all other slots except diamond in helm

Passives:

Cull the Weak

Numbing Traps

Blood Vengeance

Custom Engineering

Mouse:

L: Chakram - Razor Disk

R: Vault - Tumble

Bar:

1: Mark of Death - Contagion

2: Sentry - Polar Station

3: Companion - Wolf

4: Preparation - Invigoration

Playstyle:

Simply setup the Sentries with a clear Line of Sight across the field as the base of fire. Yourself and the pets are the maneuver element. Use the excellent range of the Razor Disk runed Sentries to setup overlapping fields of fire. Use Vault as much as possible to keep the Endless Walk and Elusive Ring buffs going. Refill Discipline with Preparation.

While I haven't yet pushed this build to see how high it can go, I can comfortably face-roll any T10 content and complete level 45 grifts in under 4 mins with ease.

Very Respectfully,

LL

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards

Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.
      PTR Testing
Patch 2.7.8 will be available for testing for one week. Initially, Blizzard planned to test out the patch from September 17 through September 24, but they ran into some unexpected issues and testing has been delayed. New Mac executables for Silicon and Intel chips will be available in this build, as revealed by Blizzard.

      PTR FOCUS AND DETAILS
The Patch 2.7.8 PTR will soon be under way. During this time, there may be periodic maintenances, outages, hotfixes, or minor patches. We urge you to focus your playthrough on the following:
New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. So that we can efficiently review your posts, please provide feedback in the PTR Feedback forum and bug reports in the PTR Bug Report forum.
