Quick question, does "cold" damage proc the cull of the weak passive? Or do we still need to chill them with Polar station sentries(or Thrill of the hunt)?

No, you will need to slow/chill them.

quick question about this statement in the guide:

"*Spend Paragon points only until the 15% boost from Paragon Points, as the remaining 10% for the 25% cap are already passively provided by Companion Companion Ferret Companion Ferret Companion."

I thought that the 25% cap applied to standard items + paragon points? Pretty sure I am at 35% at the moment with boost from ferret.

overall, great guide, great site.

There's no going around it, this build is very hard on the Hatred management. Make sure you're keeping up Vengeance, popping Companion on cooldown (for the Bat Companion active component), and not neglecting regular Evasive Fire shots.

Yeah, compared to impale. This cant reach passed 70 Grift. You will get 1 shot by a lot, Defense wise it lacking. Still a great and fun build.

For me this build (or all Marauder builds) kinda suck. I play a lot with the demon hunter, but beside Natalya I do way better with any other build. Impale, UE Multishot, UE Grenades all do way more damage and are easier to play.  My gear for the grenade build isn't even good, yet it's still a lot better.

I don't know why this build is called a high tier build. I can't really do any meaningful damage with it. Meanwhile Multishot is called a mid tier build and feels so much better to me. My gear for grenades isn't very good, but it's way better. Impale just rocks.

Cluster arrow is just so slow and more loud than effective. I also hate the Manticore. It seems to be worst weapon in the game and I find 2h crossbows a chore to play with. I guess, Marauder builds are simply not for me.

Build seems very hard to utilize playing on console, at least for me. Being unable to accurately place turrets due to a lack of mouse means I end up vaulting onto the enemy to place one, which can get me one shot v. sharpish. Maybe as UE MS was my first DH build I am just not used to slowing down!

Does cubing the Hellcat Waistguard bring any benefit to the Rocket variants of this build?  The summary makes no mention of an alternative, but how does a buff to grenade bounces help if you're using Shooting Star or Maelstrom?  Wouldn't I be better off with a Visage of Gunes or something?

Definitely. If you want survivability, run a Visage. If you want damage, use a Witching Hour and cube Zoey's.

Why this is top tier while Shadow Impale and Multishot Unhallowed (even Natalya's) aren't?

I'm also wondering about this. Players on the official demon hunter forums only talk about S6 and UE MS (sometimes N6 as well), but never once did I see someone mention this build being top tier. Maybe I'm missing something?

This is far easier to obtain a 110+ clear with solo due to it having a far more forgiving and tanky playstyle. UE is a glass cannon, so it's mid-tier. Nats and Impale are only High tier because Impale needs crazy rift fishing and Nats needs a PP desperately for RG, so you're hunting one to finish rifts.

at the moment every single demon hunter on the leaderboards are running shadow, there aren't a single marauder that i can see on normal or seasons...  doesn't that make shadow impale the top build this season ?

This is because Imaple is insanely easy to gear. You need barely any properly rolled gear to push high GRs because the sets main damage comes from guaranteed rolls. It's also worth noting that Karlei's Ancient or Primal Ancient is the easiest primal to get for DH since there are only two daggers. There are already Marauders and Natalya clears popping up as people get more gear.

Wait. Is it really a tanky playstyle? More than Shadow Impale? I mean, even with low paragon and probably any Caldesann?

I'm just asking because I haven't seen any Marauder's player in this season yet (I don't see the top board too), just Shadow Impale for GR and UE for speed farm.

The video is from season 10, before the buffs from S11 and S12 (especially Multishot?).

The tanky part was about UE, hence why it's a different sentence. UE is ultimate glass cannon. If it gets touched, it dies, similar to Rathma Necro. Marauder has to play closer due to Grenades playstyle, so it needs a more tanky setup, hence why it runs Wraps, Esoteric and Zoey's belt. It's also why it doesn't run Zei's.

The leaderboard is crazy varied right now. At time of writing, it is:

  • #1 - M6 Cluster Bomb (this build)
  • #2 - Nat4/M6
  • #3 - Impale
  • #4 - Multishot
  • #5 - Nat4/M6

There's definitely a lot of variation and Marauder's is very strong this season. More so than UE/Impale.

You list Hellfire Amulet as a desirable necklace, but don't list what our 5th talent should be.

This is in the guide:

Completing the jewelry, you have a number of options for the neck slot. While any well-rolled piece can do the job, your best option would be a  Hellfire Amulet of Dexterity with a helpful fifth passive like  Ambush or  Awareness.

Hope this helps.

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.
      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.

Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
