Moozedude 47 Report post Posted October 16, 2014 Okay, so, this is gonna seem kinda silly. The recently published guide says Multistrike is king, above even Int in weight. Therefore, would it be feasible to pick up Nazgrim's healer trinket? Static Multistrike, and a "proc on heal" which could be forced by occasional off-healing, maybe? I mean, basically, is there accurate stat-weights (not AMR's generic ".1 less" formula) that can show whether that budget of multistrike is superior to the amplification of PBoI? I assume it's already better than BBoY, as that has static haste and a really irritating proc. Thanks ya'll for listening to a dabbler. :)
Drafty53 17 Report post Posted October 16, 2014 If your talking Ele...KTT from shamans gives static multistrike with a 1 minute int proc on damage spells (using naz's would probably be a loss)...KTT and PBoI should still be BiS for 6.0.2.
Moozedude 47 Report post Posted October 16, 2014 You misunderstand. The question is whether KTT + Naz, for double static multistrike, is superior to KTT + PBoI. Are the weighted budgets of the amplification difference (which will obviously vary based upon ilvl of other gear) superior to that full additional budget of multistrike? What breakpoints in gear would it cease to be a gain, or at what ilvl of either trinket? I know this is one of those percent-of-a-percent kind of calculations, but since the Multistrike is valued so high, I wondered at the plausibility. I'm not simcraft-savvy, so i'd have a difficult time mathing it out from scratch, but if someone had the real (or even theoretical) stat weight values lying around (not here or Totemspot so far), then I could extrapolate the data myself from the amplification percentages and base it on general ilvl stat budget breakpoints, with some variance for specific gearing budgets. One step further, this may seem moot after WoD drops. But it's the opposite, this is exactly the kind of questions we should be asking ourselves, now that we can't reforge and have to work with the best we're given. Damien 1,514 Report post Posted October 16, 2014 Nazgrim's Burnished Insignia gives you 87 Multistrike. The item level equivalent of Purified Bindings of Immerseus gives you 700 Intellect for 20 seconds, on a 115-sec cooldown (18% uptime in SimC), and +8% Haste and Mastery. The SimC profile for T16M Elemental Shaman has 466 Haste and 852 Mastery on gear (before applying the % from PBoI). So, the trinket gives you +37 Haste, and +68 Mastery. I'm grossly rounding things up, but according to SimC, this profile has a weight of about 8 for Haste and Mastery, and a weight of 10 for Multistrike. So, here just the increase in stat is worth about 84 Multistrike, without even counting the Intellect buff. With Intellect at roughly 8 too, that gives you another increase in damage worth about 100 Multistrike. So, ~184 Multistrike against 87 Multistrike, the choice is pretty obvious. Even the LFR version of PBoI beats the Nazgrim trinket in every conceivable situation, without even counting the buff to Critical Strike damage from PBoI.
Moozedude 47 Report post Posted October 17, 2014 Thank you, very much. That kind of response is why I like it here so much.
