B0X315 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2014 Is this really worth it? I haven't done any simcrafting or anything but I was curious from people who have. I completely understand that it almost doubles our chance for Shooting Stars procs on crits, and with crit being our second priority that helps. But with 4-piece you will get 2-3 pieces with no Mastery (helm, shoulders, or gloves) and chest with no crit. Wouldn't replacing those 3 pieces with mastery/crit gear be more beneficial for static damage? I mean, at heroic level, that is about 140 more mastery. That all being said, has anyone checked to see how beneficial mastery/haste would be? It would give us more casts during eclipse, but I don't know if it is enough to overshadow the bonus from SS. Kazistrasz 216 Report post Posted October 25, 2014 Mastery > Crit > Haste all day. No, the 4p isn't worth it. On any realistic fight length, you MAY get one extra SS proc. If RNG is on your side, you'll get at most like two extra. It's not worth the loss of stats. It's not about the itemization - changing up some secondary stats on two items really won't mean jack to your DPS. What you actually gain is the extra stats as a whole, even if it were the same or worse itemization, from having 6 extra item levels on two pieces.
