Importance of ranges in WoD Raids

Hello,

right now my guild is planning the roster for the upcoming raids and since our roster is really melee heavy i wanted to ask if it is important to have a range heavy roster.
To add more information, we're not planning to do mythic, only normal / heroic.

Actual line up would be 4-5 melees and 4 ranges.

If you're not doing mythic then it won't really matter. Even in mythic melee seems to be in a better place then normal.
