Recommended Posts

Harbingers-of-Ruin.jpg

Eleventh Hour Games teased their next major cycle with a promising trailer and some interesting details! Harbingers of Ruin will release on the 9th of July!

Last Epoch's next big update, patch 1.1, looks to be a very promising cycle. The patch is called Harbingers of Ruin, and the global launch date is set for July 9th, 2024!

First, let's have a look at the teaser trailer below:

The teaser is not revealing much for the time being, but with the recent roadmap reveal, we can expect the following:

  • New Pinnacle Boss, which will only be accessible on the new Cycle Realm at first. The Last Epoch team at EHG is currently conducting a survey in order to know when to release the boss for the Eternal Realm. You can still participate here: Pinnacle Content - Realm Release Timing Poll
  • Random Encounters: Nemesis. We don't have much information about them, but these are most likely powerful new enemies / enemy types.
  • Evade (Dodge Roll) Mechanic: If you are a fan of ARPGs in general, chances are you feel like something is missing. Well, fear not, because the long-awaited dodge roll mechanic is making its way into the game!
  • And much more to come.

1.1 to 1.4 ROADMAP.jpg

The first few Cycles of Last Epoch are less about a specific theme, but rather about adding more permanent content to the game.

Keep in mind that certain content, such as the pinnacle boss, will initially be exclusive to Cycle characters. The boss should become available for the Eternal Realm later on. EHG intends to give Cycle characters some time to complete content first without keeping anything from the Eternal Realm, so that even players who do not want to create a new character can eventually enjoy the new content after some time.

1.1 Cycle also opens up interesting speculations among players, such as:

  • New gameplay mechanics, for example, summoning minions from portals.
  • There are concerns about the release date as it is close to the Elden Ring DLC and Final Fantasy XIV expansion release.

In any case, it's an exciting time for Last Epoch players! With much more information to come in the future, we will, of course, keep you updated as new details become available!

Last Epoch is agame with many build possibilities, however, which builds are the ones players have the most fun with? Find out here!
With the amount of builds available in games such as Last Epoch, it can be hard to find a build that really suits you, or that is simply fun to play.
While some build perform much better than others, and you may no be able to push high into end-game with all of them, some build variants are just too funny to play!
Player AhoiCaptainDWH has asked the question on reddit: What is the most fun build for you, even if it is currently not in a good state?
Here is breakthrough of the builds players have been mentioning under this post:
Necromancer with Skeleton Mages who will cast sacrifice on all your regular Skeletons and Wraiths. This build revolves around summoning as many Skeletons and Wraiths per second while your Skeleton Mages instantly blow them up. This results in extremely fun gameplay where you Summon Skeleton skill becomes your main damage ability, making the battlefield an explosive show! Squirrel Beastmaster. Very funny build that lets you jump into hordes of enemies with your army of Squirrels screaming non stop and tearing through everything. Fart cloud Lich. You can clear hordes of enemies fast while always leaving an aura of decay and poison behind you. Zoomancer. Having as many minions as possible running around you. Randomized Rune Master. Unpredictable yet colorful and fun. Bleed Warlock. This build lets you auto-cast spirit plague, and melting enemies by stacking dots. And many more! Those are only a few of them, but it proves the many possible builds that players can come up with in Last Epoch!

Eleventh Hour Games have released the first in a series of behind-the-scenes Blog Posts! Learn more about the Lead Composer, and how the most iconic Last Epoch Theme Songs were created!
Music is a big part of Last Epoch, and the game features many amazing and iconic songs! Eleventh Hour Games have decided to share more about their Lead Composer, Erik Desiderio, and how the most iconic Last Epoch songs were created!
You can have a first look at the Keeper's Camp Theme:
Initially working on numerous film and TV projects, Erik Desiderio long aspired to compose for games. After a chance encounter he was able to make music for an Adventure Time Virtual Reality game. His career in game music was jumpstarted after he gave a talk at the Game Developer's Convention.
Here is an overview of the information shared during the interview:
Mastery of New Instruments for Last Epoch
For the soundtrack of Last Epoch, the composer expanded his instrumental repertoire, learning the lute and tagelharpa to evoke an ancient, archaic feeling. This added depth to the game's music, creating a richly immersive auditory experience.
      The Perfect Vocal Fit
Finding the right vocalist was crucial for the Last Epoch soundtrack. Ffion, discovered through the magic of YouTube, stood out with her evocative and otherworldly voice. Her album in Old Norse, with impeccable pronunciation, made her the ideal choice for the project.
      Incorporating Old Norse
Old Norse was chosen for its ancient, forgotten feel and gritty sound, fitting perfectly with the Last Epoch landscape. Its powerful words and strong drive added an epic quality to the game's main theme and other tracks.
Listen at the wonderful Monolith Theme:
      Composing for Harbingers and Aberroth
Embracing the challenge of Harbingers and Aberroth, the two new inclusions, the composer created distinct musical themes for each. The Brute Harbinger's theme features a deep male choir, while the Agile Harbinger’s music is faster with violins. For Aberroth, the music transitions through different eras of the game, matching the escalating intensity of the battle.
      Mastering and Finalizing Tracks
Mastering involves assembling, editing, balancing, and processing the music to ensure it loops and reacts perfectly to the player's actions. A track is considered finished when it gives the composer chills and transports the audience to another place and time, which is exactly the case with last Epoch's Music.
You can have a listen at the Brute Harbinger Theme:

Have a look at our brand new Paladin Reen's Skeleton Slayer build created to deal with the upcoming Imperial Uprising Event!
The Imperial Uprising Event will kick off in less than 1 hour and will be ungoing until October 20th, 2024.
During the event, you will see an increased spawn rate of Undead enemies. Anyone who participates in killing those undead enemies will be rewarded with a special cosmetic item.
To help you deal with the increased amount of Skeletons, our build writer Ghazzy has prepared a specific Sentinel build that was made to deal with the increased spawn rate of Undead, but also does a fantastic job of eliminating Void enemies as well.
The Paladin Reen's Skeleton Slayer Build has the following advantages:
Extremely high ignite and critical damage Multiple self-healing options Immunity while using traversal skills Zero requirement to track Mana usage The thought behind this build was to create something fun and fast for the upcoming Imperial Uprising event. Paladin, alongside it's access to Healing Hands, seemed like the perfect choice for this goal. By stacking immense amounts of Ignite, Critical Multiplier, and Attack Speed, you will easily slash through enemies.
You can also find Ghazzy on his Twitch Channel, where he will be streaming the event as a Void-Based Meteor Cast-on-Crit Sorcerer!
