Recommended Posts

Battle-System-Header.jpg

With only a few days left before early access and the launch of Dawntrail, here is a quick look into the various new and updated battle systems!

The 48-hour maintenance is currently underway, so now is a great time to review some of the information from the latest patch notes! To that end, here are the important takeaways on battle systems, including PvP.

Battle System

As most of you already know, the level cap for all Disciples of War and Magic has been raised to 100, and the Viper and Pictomancer Jobs have been added.

In accordance with the increased level cap, players can now gain experience from Level 90 dungeons, trials, and 6.x alliance raid dungeons.

Furthermore, old Jobs have received updates, as well as new Job actions: Dawntrail Job Changes

Of course, as you progress through Dawntrail content, you will also encounter entirely new enemies:

These new types of enemies can be found in various new areas, but also inside multiple new dungeons! Regarding dungeons, you will be happy to know that after beginning a boss encounter in dungeons that are introduced in Patch 7.0, the shortcut warp will directly take you to the boss area's entrance.

New trials have also been added, but unreal trials have been disabled temporarily.

Additionally, you will now receive the power of the Echo in case of a party wipe during the following trials:

  • The Abyssal Fracture
  • The Gilded Araya
  • The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)

The strength of the Echo granted in Pandæmonium: Anabaseios (Savage) has also been increased.

A new expansion of Stone, Sky, Sea has been added:  The Spire of Trial where you will be tasked with destroying Level 100 striking dummies.

New elite marks have also been added, and Allagan Tomestones were changed.

Last but not least, new duties for Dawntrail have been added to the Expert, Leveling, and Trials Duty Roulette. Moreover, Level 50/60/70/80 Dungeons and Level 90 Dungeons Duty Roulettes have been combined into Duty Roulette: High-Level Dungeons, and the type and number of Allagan Tomestones received from each Duty Roulette category have been adjusted.

PVP

Here are the most important details regarding PvP:

  • PvP actions for Viper and Pictomancer have been added.
  • New items are available in exchange for Trophy Crystals.
  • New items are available in exchange for Wolf Marks.
  • Series 5 will end and Series 6 will begin.
  • Crystalline Conflict: Season Eleven will end, and a pre-season will begin.

Of course, there will be much more to do and find throughout Dawntrail and future updates, but this will give us plenty to do at the start of the expansion!
