Gwenymph 414 Report post Posted November 28, 2014 Healer PoV remarks. Locky has a complete guide HERE Witherbark: What worked well for us was to pull the last trash pack around Witherbark away from him against the hill. When the last mob dies, Witherbark activates but will drop combat after a couple seconds. Allowing you to mana up and switch specs if needed. We tanked him against the hill, away from the water and stacked the range and healers at the entrance way to the right, looking at the boss. This is where the entangling roots are dropped to prevent them from getting hit by the Aqueous Gobules. Just make a line of them at the entrance then start a new line if you run out of room. Handling of the Gobules themselves in respect to the fight can be found in the General CM Guide provided by Locky. There have not been many questions about the encounter from a healing stand point the damage is very manageable even at less than 630ilvl. Xeri'tac: Another example of predictable manageable dmg encounter. The only thing worth noting is that we stack at the entrance during the Pre-Xer'tac phase and drop all of the clouds off there. The island in the middle is where we tank Xer'tac when engaged and the extra room to move around and not worry about additional clouds is nice. AA>IF>PoH Ancient Protectors: Stay on top of your dispels. Dmg red. CDs can be used early and often from you and your tank to conserve mana. If your DPS is low, this fight will be more taxing on your mana than Xeri'tac and Witherbark. AA>IF>PoH Archmage Sol: Proper control over her phases is the most important factor of this encounter for healers. I prefer the NO Arcane approach as a Priest in poorly itemized gear for a one shot. We tried different stack counters and what worked the best so far is 4 Fire, 4 Ice... dead, skipping Arcane completely. Phases, as Locky mentioned, are pushed by interrupts so stop being good raiders and do not get interrupt trigger happy. We clear the 2 patting mobs to the right to give us more room at the end of the encounter allowing us to avoid Firebloom. After clearing them, we head back to Sol and range/healer stack on the far right side looking at her. We just continue to drop the Fireblooms there as we slowly move towards the path you cleared headed towards the portal. Stack two plants, move, stack, move, interrupt at 4 stack to phase change to ICE. Important to note there that jumping over the Firebloom Rings is not a requirement, as long as you are jumping you will not take dmg. So landing on a ring is not reason to freak out, just jump again and it will not deplete your health. When she changes to ICE, move up the hill careful not to pull her to the pathway, she will reset. This movement take the Fireblooms out of the equation and you can just avoid Blizzard and max dps her down before 4 stacks thus ignoring the Arcane Phase, profit! Yalnu: The Colossal Smash ability does not render properly on the hill of the encounter so stay off the hill to avoid accidental hits when it looks like you are safe. PreCast your stacks of Clarity as Disc on the tank and pull. PWS the DoT targets and use all speed increases to stomp all the flower petal adds out, preventing them from spawning mobs. If you get more than 2 mobs CD should be used on your tank as they position everything over the NPC fire. Chaining dmg red CDs to recover from a poor Genesis phases is recommended by you and the tank to prevent the adds wiping you. That is the most mana intensive part of the fight is poor handling of Genesis. Master your positioning and coordination of flower stomping and the fight handles like a higher damage Witherbark encounter. Don't stand in bad, manage DPS health without filling them up if your mana is strapped, keep the tank topped off going into Genesis to cushion and adds. AA>IF>PoH GL and again post the healing strats that worked better for your make up!

Espiee 161 Report post Posted November 28, 2014 This may not be relevant for boss encounters but if you kill a few of the big trash mobs you can make it to the hut just on the right of the entrance. Run behind it and you can climb the rock to skip a lot of the trash on your way to the first and all of the trash leading from the first to the second boss.
Gwenymph 414 Report post Posted November 28, 2014 Ya! Definitely worth noting. I know Locky included it in his guide but we were not aware of it when we ran through for the vid. >.< doh!
Aneasthesia 5 Report post Posted November 28, 2014 (edited) Archmage Sol was the hardest for my group. We wiped several times on her before we found a good phase change ratio. Ultimately we ended up pushing her into ice after 3 fire stacks. We tried 4, but our tank was basically getting one shot. Arcane is a complete death sentence unless you are holy (maybe). We kited her to our left when facing her once we pulled and started kiting her towards the portal after each firebloom. Once she hits ice you should be far enough away to not have to worry about them. Once we found the right phase changes it wasn't too difficult. The later stacks of parasitic growth are pretty taxing on the tank and heals though. Thankfully we had a Ret. pally who could LoH. Also, since the damage output is very low at the start, I just popped PI and stacked CoW on everyone in the party which lasted until the 3rd Fire phase. We waited to lust until she went into ice in order to help me out with the healing. --The other bosses (aside from the protectors) are barely harder then heroic. This CM isn't that bad. We wiped quite a few times trying to figure out which stacks to keep her in through each phase. Arcane was just too much if we did not already have her on her last leg. 5 stacks, for us, one shot our tank. Grats on the clear!
