FFXIV - Dawntrail: Improved Graphics, Leveling Tips, and a Special Corn Minion!

Recommended Posts

Paradise-Header.jpg

With early access started and Dawntrail's official release just around the corner, we have compiled a few tips for better graphics and faster leveling, as well as where to get the special corn minion and more!

The launch of Dawntrail's early access on Friday has been a great success! Players have managed to log in with minimal waiting queues and bugs, allowing people all over the world to enjoy the available Dawntrail content. Below, we will cover which small bugs to watch out for, as well as some useful tips and tricks discovered by players!

Even Better Graphics

The first "pro-tip" is about the new graphics: it seems that the AMD FSR looks sharper than the NVIDIA one. However, if you use the AMD FSR, make sure to turn down the 3D resolution scaling to 99, as 100 seems to be somewhat bugged and makes things look slightly blurry.

You can see an example of these settings and their difference in Llamatodd's clip below:

Leveling Tip: Fate Farming

Many players are prioritizing the leveling of the two new jobs, Viper and Pictomancer, resulting in long queue times for DPS Duty Roulette farming. While waiting to enter a dungeon, another good way to gain experience is to farm Fates in Endwalker areas!

It is important to note that we don’t recommend using the alliance raid roulette for the time being. If you end up in the Syrcus Tower, the Amon boss seems to be slightly bugged and becomes unkillable as the ice blocks don’t appear during Curtain Call, wiping the whole raid repeatedly.

If you get stuck, Xepla noted on her X/Twitter that you can sacrifice one healer from each group before Curtain Call, have them wait for the rez, and have a tank ready to resurrect after Curtain Call to grab the aggro immediately.

NPCs: Hide Surrounding Players

For those that started the Main Story Quest right away and are having trouble spotting NPCs due to the large number of players, don't forget about the new setting to hide surrounding players when near an NPC!

Quest Rewards

Finally, there are two important side quests that you should definitely grab!

The first is a Blue Quest in Ul'dah, Steps of Thal, near the market, called "Bottled Fantasy." It is a very short quest that rewards you with a free bottle of Fantasia! Also, remember that after using the Fantasia, you now have 60 minutes where you can go in-game, test your new look, and go back out to change it again multiple times if you wish.

The second quest is a normal side quest located in Tuliyollal, near the Docks, called "Corn of Necessity." This is a rather long quest chain! You will need to find the little Cornservant in multiple areas of Dawntrail and complete his quests, with the last one rewarding you with a Corn Minion!

Dawntrail surely has many more secrets to reveal, and we will let you know when we find them! In the meantime, make sure to enjoy your well-deserved summer vacation!

The Futures Rewritten Ultimate Raid will release soon! Here are some visuals of what the weapons rewarded for completing the raid may look like!
The new Ultimate Raid, Futures Rewritten, will release with patch 7.11.
All Ultimate raids come with amazing Weapons that usually have a very strong design, making them recognizable from afar. This way, every players knows who completed an Ultimate Raid.
While we do not have any official visual for the Futures Rewritten weapons, here are some images of what the weapons could look like! Keep it mind that those are not the finished version. It is Dataminded information.
The VFX was found on Offhands weapons, and applied to the other weapons. These are not the actual weapon textures, models are the base weapons for reference, and the VFX may be unfinished, but it can give you an idea of what they will look like:
      Monk

      Ninja

      Dancer

      Viper
