After five years, Vieras are still not able to wear hats, and players are frustrated about it!
With the release of Dawntrail, a new race has been added: the female Hrothgar. While players were thrilled that this race was finally available, there is still one thing missing: the ability for Hrothgar and Viera to wear the hairstyle and hat of their choice and not be limited to basic options, or sometimes no options at all.
Many players have been making fun of this situation since entering the Dawntrail expansion, as shown in the following Reddit posts:
      Posted by RoninK_OW:
"Entering Dawntrail as Viera, knowing I'm only gonna be able to wear 4 of the 20+ new hats..." The topic was also already brought up several months before the release of Dawntrail, as seen in this Reddit post by DrForester:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the one hat that Viera and Hrothgar will be getting in 7.0" While the community had hoped to be able to wear their favorite headwear during this long-awaited vacation, it appears that the Viera have once again been forgotten. However, players are optimistic that 8.0 will allow them to finally wear their favorite haircut and hat. Since Yoshi-P has stated that no more races will be introduced to the game in the near future, perhaps the team will have time to make holes for the bunnies' ears!
To the Vieras and Hrothgar out there, what is your favorite hairstyle or hat you would like to see your Warrior of Light wear?

Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV, has shared a few statements regarding job changes, housing issues, and more! Here is everything you need to know!
Following the release of Dawntrail, players expressed several concerns about jobs, mechanics, housing, and console issues, which led Yoshi-P to issue a few statements explaining their plans for addressing them. So let's go over all you need to know about what has been said:
First of all, regarding player feedback about certain jobs, the following adjustments are planned to be made between patch 7.01 and patch 7.05:
      Monk
Certain actions have incorrect potencies, as well as an error with the requirements to apply stacks of Fury. They plan to address these issues in Patch 7.01.  Astrologian
Astrologian is having issues specifically with the damage burst phases, which they plan to address in Patch 7.01. Light Speed will have its recast time adjusted and will also be made into a charged action. They also plan to shorten the recast time of the two draw actions and adjust the potency of Macrocosmos. Viper
They plan on improving the Viper’s skill rotation, including the easing of directional requirements and changes to the effects of several actions. These changes are planned for Patch 7.05. Black Mage
Before learning the action Umbral Soul, black mage has difficulty recovering MP. They plan to address this in Patch 7.01 and make further adjustments to action potencies in Patch 7.05. Tank
To help with concerns about holding enmity in battle, they will add increased enmity effects to tank area-of-effect attacks as well as their movement abilities in Patch 7.01. Samurai and Red Mage
For samurai, the recast timers of Tendo Setsugekka and Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka will be reduced. For red mage, the effect duration of Manafication will be extended. Pictomancer
There is an issue where players can manually disable the effects of Subtractive Palette, Aetherhues, and Aetherhues II. This will be addressed with Patch 7.01. In addition to job adjustments, there have been reports of housing issues, and the Final Fantasy XIV team confirmed that they plan to upgrade the lighting effects in houses. Read more about it here: Issues with Housing Brightness Settings
Finally, after the issues Xbox players have been dealing with and also as a way to thank players for their patience and support, Yoshi-P has decided to reward us all with some free playtime:
