HoYoverse announces Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn special program livestream! Discover everything about the new regions, characters, and in-game rewards!
HoYoverse has announced the upcoming Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0 update, titled "Where Clouds Embrace the Dawn", with a special program livestream scheduled for May 23, 2025, at 19:00 (UTC+8), 13:00 (CEST). The livestream will be available on the game's official channels:
YouTube Twitch The special program will introduce new content for Season 2 of Zenless Zone Zero, including:
New Region: Explore the Waifei Peninsula, a brand-new area expanding the game's universe.  New Characters: Meet Yixuan, Ju Fufu, and Pan Yinhu, the latest additions to the playable roster.  System Optimizations: Enhancements such as a revamped map experience, a new dailies system centered around the Temple, and improved agent mechanics.  Proxy Skins reveal: discover how you can customize your Proxy's appearance! Mysterious Guest: A special guest will make an appearance during the livestream, promising unexpected surprises.  Redemption Code: A new code will be shared during the broadcast, offering in-game rewards.  More information about version 2.0 will most likely be shared during the livestream! We will make sure to give you a detailed  breakdown of everything you can expect for Season 2, so stay tuned!

Hugo Vlad joined the Zenless Zone Zero roster, and we updated our Tier List accordingly! Find out if the latest attack agent is as strong as we hoped for or not? 
Hugo Vlad has just been released in Zenless Zone Zero, and he's already making a major impact. We have updated our Tier List to reflect the latest rankings, but where does Hugo land?
His powerful Ice-based abilities and swift scythe combos make him a must-pull for any player looking to dominate the battlefield. If you don't have Miyabi, he's an excellent replacement for an Ice squad with strong Stun capabilities.
Notably, Hugo's arrival has not affected the rankings of other characters, keeping the rest of the roster stable from Phase 1 of Version 1.7. His damage output is equivalent to Miyabi's, which places him right alongside her in the list.

Hugo Vlad has officially joined the roster in Zenless Zone Zero as of today, May 14, 2025. This marks the launch of Phase 2 of Version 1.7, featuring Hugo's exclusive banner. The banner went live at 12:00 PM server time! 
Hugo is an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent from the Mockingbird faction. He is known for his swift scythe attacks and powerful Ice-based abilities. He is a powerful Ice DPS with the ability to buff himself depending on the amount of Stun agents in his team. Not only that, but he can also deal a good amount of Daze, despite being an attack agent. His Scythe has a wide range, allowing you to hit enemies that are not directly close to you.
Hugo Vlad is a main DPS, and an insanely strong one on top of it. He functions mainly through stun mechanics and his burst DMG window. When you use 2 Stun Agents in your squad, Hugo's ATK increases massively. When your finishing move of your Ex Special Attack hits an enemy, Hugo enters the Totalize effect, which increases the DMG multiplier of the Finishing Move. On top of that, the Totalize effect further increases the skill's DMG multiplier based on the remaining Stun time you had on the enemy when Totalize was triggered.
Hugo is also rather easy to build: he does not require any brand-new Drive Discs, and if you farmed older ones you may already have a good set for him. 
Regarding his W-Engines, while his signature gives him a massive boost, he has perfectly viable F2P options.
Finally, his best teams consist of 2 Stun agents, if you want to get the most out of his personal buffs.

Hoyoverse continues its tradition of launching an EP with every new character reveal in Zenless Zone Zero, and this week, Hugo Vlad steps into the spotlight with a dramatic approach. In a stunning surprise, Hugo's EP is entirely sung in French, perfectly mirroring the character's intense backstory and mysterious persona.

The trailer showcases Hugo's dramatic story, and his struggle fighting himself. The French lyrics deepen the emotional weight of the visuals, giving us a glimpse into his struggles and motivations.
This is the first time HoYoverse has opted for a fully French soundtrack for a character's EP in Zenless Zone Zero, adding a unique layer of artistic storytelling. 
The choice of language has sparked surprise but also excitement among players. Many praising the bold move for its authenticity and immersion. The only other HoYoverse character who got a French song is Furina in Genshin Impact. For her, it made sense, since she is the Archon of Fontaine, heavily inspired by France. However, a French song for Hugo was a beautiful surprise!
The lyrics themselves go over Hugo's struggles, speaking up about his inner demon, hurtful words leaving scars, and him being forced to live in suffering. The visuals are very dramatic, evoking French Dramaturgic Theater.
The shadowy visuals, melancholic atmosphere, and poetic lyrics are reminders of classic French storytelling, where tragedy and raw emotion are brought to the forefront.
Some players even noted parallels with the works of Jean Cocteau and the ambiance of Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol, famous for its macabre and dramatic performances. Hugo's portrayal feels like a character born out of the pages of a French romantic tragedy: haunted by past mistakes, wandering through the fog of his own regrets.

Titled "Leading Man of the Apocalypse," this demo showcases Hugo as he tricks the entire police department, reuniting with Vivian on the rooftop for more mysterious plans.
Hugo is the upcoming Ice Attack Agent in Zenless Zone Zero! Former best friend of Lycaon and leader of Mockingbird alongside Vivian, Hugo is the master phantom thief! He always has more tricks up his sleeve and never hesitates to steal from the rich to give to the poor.
In combat, Hugo shines when paired with Stun Agents, allowing him to reach his full potential. He's a powerful DPS with a wide range of attacks!
While he doesn't particularly synergize with his Mockingbird teammate Vivian, on the other hand, Lycaon is a perfect fit for the job!
Being capable to deal massive damage even without heavy investment, Hugo is a must-have if you didn't farm that many Drive Discs, requiring only Woodpecker Electro as best Disc for his build! While his Signature W-Engine gives him a slight advantage, F2P options are perfectly viable as well! All he really wants is Crit and 2 Stun Squad members!
