leech6590 1 Report post Posted December 8, 2014 All Mages are on the low end of the spectrum, and will be receiving buffs. Frost, the most played spec, is a lot lower than they'd like. The necessity of Crit on Fire Mages is problematic early on. They'll figure out a way to adjust it.

Tigersharrk 4 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 Yeah thats sounds awesome...dunno if the damage boost still makes AO viable tho.
Skrub 7 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 I wouldn't take AO for the damage, more the utility as a way to get high stacks to allow the other buffed spells to go nuts :D I'm excited about teh Noodlebolt 25% buff though, means we might actually be able to count it as a spell again hahaha

Event 1 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 source: http://www.simulationcraft.org/reports/archive_html/1418113617_Raid_T17M.html.gz This looks great, but I am skeptical that arcane and fire will stay that far ahead. Blizzard generally purposely overtunes us, then adjusts accordingly. That being the case, I won't put a ton of weight in the results of sims using the current buffed state with the future 4-piece, when there is likely to be a nerf within a week or so. Mages being that far ahead is obviously not what Blizzard would consider to be 'balance', but I think they're aiming for about 4 classes (and the dps specializations of each) to be about even on DPS, give or take 800 DPS (1k would bring out some hardcore QQ). I reaaaally want to play fire, and I'm sure many want to play arcane, but I won't be breaking the Gold/GP bank quite yet. I've been holding gear from heroics and such that didn't work with frost, but if I'm not doing reliable damage as fire *right now* (i.e. not in a sim many months from now with BRF and tier), I couldn't justify changing. That being said, if, while playing as the spec I enjoy most, I am less than 1k DPS behind our top spec at that point in time, I will stay with what I like. Your guild has to be running a lot of carries for like 500dps across the board (~7k) to make or break an encounter. Key points of the rant: -WOOT! Fire and Arcane! -Don't put all your Rylak eggs into one nest yet, because a nerf WILL come; (ex. the buff to Fire a few weeks prior to WoD, when it could top meters with little to no effort, and was followed about a week later by a ~15% nerf) -Test in game, because live data, not simulations, will determine the scope of [future] nerfs and/or buffs **Any class/spec with DPS 5% or more over the next highest (Arcane is 6.7% higher than Warriors in this sim) has no hope of keeping such a margin.** //rant <
Powerade 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2014 Hi guys, easy question: Are frost buff hotfixes live on eu servers?I still do tooltip dmg with my frostbolt and if I change to fire my enhanced pyrotechnics still indicate a 5% buff after each noncritical hit/molten armor is a 5% buff, so I don't think they upgraded the tooltip yet.Anyone has any clue?
