PAMUS 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 Hi Hunters:) Need your help. I wonder what is better for me (for all?) crit or multistrake? Iridar 80 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) Here are your CURRENT simmed weights, but I wouldn't take them too seriously. Crit is still going to be better up to 40% because it will make your rotation much smoother during careful aim / RF, as you will be able to say with 100% certainty that every AiS will refund focus. From the position of straight up DPS, crit and multistrike are virtually identical point per point. But as MM hunters, we get +5% to all crit rating, and AiS crits will refund us focus, which makes crit better than multistrike. But, crit and multistrike scale together quite well. I.e., the more crit you have, the more DPS one point of multistrike will give you, and vice versa. Edited December 9, 2014 by Iridar

Iridar 80 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 For those looking to understand how multistrike works, here's a great article: http://www.thrillofthewild.com/2014/09/thrill-of-spreadsheet-understanding.html

Iridar 80 Report post Posted December 9, 2014 So...we should take crit, multi and versatility and stay away from haste and mastery? Not exactly. First of all, not "we", just Pamus. Simmed stat weights are individual, depending on gear. Secondly, stat weights are in constant flux. They only show how much DPS you would gain by increasing this or that stat by 1. But it doesn't show what would happen if you take away 100 haste in exchange for 100 crit. To know that, you need to sim individual gear pieces. Overall, our priority is crit > multistrike > everything else, but it doesn't mean that other stats are completely worthless and shouldn't be taken. Iridar 80 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I'm not sure if crossposting is allowed, but there's a great explanation of this conundrum at elitistjerks (source: http://forums.elitistjerks.com/topic/132765-wod-marksmanship-60/?p=2277284) This is one of those things that is unfortunately best answered with individualized sims rather than blanket advice. We know that preferring crit > ms will get you to BiS, but the problem with Highmaul gear is that crit paired with MS on gear is rather rare. Because MS is especially rare with crit, but crit comes on just about every slot, we have a lot of crit and practically no MS. So, because there are such low levels of MS, it is very, very possible that many profiles will benefit from switching enchants to MS over crit up to a certain level. Hunters like Megabloks are already at the sweet spot for crit ranges of the BiS profiles. So, if I was at his passive crit, I too would start trying to bring my MS up to a level in the BiS sweet spot. I'll repost the top 10 profile stat allocation ranges from before nerf. Crit: 1500-1700 MS: 900-1100 Haste: 600-700 Mastery: 300-700 Vers: 200-600 Megabloks is already in the upper end of the sweet spot for crit for BiS profiles, but even with the MS enchants, he's only at 486 MS. Mastery, Haste, and Versatility are all basically within those ranges. It's just MS that he needs to raise to get at the sort of golden ratios that you see in the BiS listing for first tier.
