Festering Strike vs Scourge Strike for RP Gain.

I was wondering what the dps loss would be if I used Festering Strike for RP gain rather then 2x Scourge strikes during the time I need to get my Ghoul into DT. A SS+FS gives me a Death coil with the cost of only one Global, vs x3 SS where now you give up 2 global CD. Whats everyone thoughts?

At best 1 festering strike hits for about the same dps as 1 scourge strike, at worst Festering strike is maybe 1-2k less damage than 1 scourge strike.

 

In terms of GCD's 1 festering strike will do the same damage as scourge strike, and build RP faster, but when you take damage per rune into account you'll be losing a ~15k scourge strike somewhere later on in your rotation.

 

It's worth using festering strike on death runes if you're about to rune cap and won't be able to scourge strike in time, but otherwise keep scourge striking, you'll lose way more dps by using festering strike than what you'll gain by getting your ghoul empowered 1 second faster.
