lockish 3 Report post Posted December 13, 2014 I have a stupid question so please try not to facepalm too hard when I ask it: Is it dumb to want to stack your top 3 stats for your class... or better yet focus on stacking the same things on all your gear. For destro rnow I'm going for Intel crit mastery. I would rather have an I level 360 intel crit stam than a higher level intel crit haste. I'm playing destro right now building an aff set of mastery haste. SO the stupidity is this: I don't want to sacrifice my crit mastery 360 for anything of higher I level but not those stats. I also don't want to do it for secondary spec aff that is mastery haste. So the rub is why would having some crit, some mastery, a sprinkle of multistrike/haste in there be worth it for the more intellect. Am I thinking to vanilla wow and only wanting to spec peerless (destro) as I would of the eagle back in the day? I've been playing better and putting out numbers better since I did this but I'm thinking it's just my confidence that is the major stat booster/
Zagam 1,982 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 The difference between your secondary stats is very small. I hope you'd rather have an item level 630 item over a 360 item. Item Level > secondary stats choice as long as the ilvl gap is 10 or higher.
lockish 3 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) So to be clear: Rotmonger Bracers is better than Frost-Touched Wristwraps If I'm stacking crit mast. Edited December 17, 2014 by lockish
Lockybalboa 618 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 I would use the Rotmonger over Wristwraps.
lockish 3 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 Gotcha thanks!
lockish 3 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 I can't wrap my head around this so lets see if I'm not crazy... For aff your money maker is haste=Mastery. So why is Dagger of the Sanguine Emeralds not above Finkle's Flenser Because in the aff best in slot list it is not. Typo?
Liquidsteel 279 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 He might not have seen it. Regardless, it's kind of irrelevant now!
lockish 3 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 I'm not trying to call anyone out. I'm trying to fix my stupid so apologies if it came off wrong.
taliesin52 3 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 I think the confusion here comes from a lack of understanding how stat weights work. For example a single point of INT is worth (ballpark) two points of Mastery for Affliction. There was a good post by Ghadda or Zagam I saw a while back that explained it real well, I'll see if I can find it.
lockish 3 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 I'll just follow the rule and stop trying to think (not very good at it anyway): 10 i level or more secondary stats care no more.
Brady84 4 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 (edited) So to be clear: Rotmonger Bracers is better than Frost-Touched Wristwraps If I'm stacking crit mast. If that first item was 660 ilvl the 2nd would still be better, look at the INT difference first [X2] Technically The Stamina matters but not by a lot [X1] The top item is therefore better by 9INT & 14 Stamina if anyone thinks that & 2 crap stats make it better than a lower ilvl with ideal stats i worry about them [unless your stat priority is crit = mastery = haste = multistrike > vers Edited December 19, 2014 by Brady84
Lockybalboa 618 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 The differences in secondary stats are so small that the int is better. Either way, you won't see a difference of much.
