LaserDude100 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 After running some sims with the recent hotfix, one trend of noticed in both my own personal sim and the sample sims for 2h frost is that haste is now simming as the best stat for 2h frost. Was just wondering if this is indeed true, has haste become the new best stat for 2h frost?

Storm 426 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 I'll run a sim today and see if I get anything new.
drumsmani 47 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 I definitely got MS as the best stat when I simmed my toon yesterday, but that could also be because I seem to have shit ton of haste gear (with the attunement) already and I might have to eat specific food for MS if I decide to go as frost in raid. Leturion 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 I'm currently simming: STR Haste Multi Vers Crit Mastery What happened?
hellmount 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 I would love to find this out for sure as I have been reshaping gear for optimal stats and organizing loot with other plate wearers in raid.
VRDRF 9 Report post Posted December 18, 2014 (edited) I actually just got this from simming my own toon: Str > AP > Mult > Haste ~= Vers > Crit > Mastery (or im just looking at the wrong place, not sure ) But I have some items that do not have perfect stats http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Zwart/simple Actually, I was swapping some items around that had a lower itemlevel and according to askmrrobot were better, equiped the lower ilevel items and ran another sim and the result was this: Str > AP > Mult > Haste > Vers > Crit > Mastery Ran it again on a dude that I raided with yesterday and get almost the same: Str > AP > Haste ~= Mult > Vers > Crit > Mastery http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ragnaros/Vödka/simple Edited December 19, 2014 by VRDRF
drumsmani 47 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 My stats when I simmed last night were Mult > Vers > Haste > Crit ~= Mastery I guess it probably means that the stats are quite close to each other which may not be a bad thing.
VRDRF 9 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 Yeah but it does look like that Haste is a more important stat then the current priority list shows. Does it maybe have something to do with the fact that haste increases rune regen?
ChaiNspliT 5 Report post Posted December 19, 2014 Yeah but it does look like that Haste is a more important stat then the current priority list shows. Does it maybe have something to do with the fact that haste increases rune regen? And most importantly, it increases the Killing Machine Procs and therefore our DPS. I wouldn't be surprised if it would out-weight Versatility, guess we have to wait and see.
Maeylor 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2014 But here's the thing. Damn near every DK you see is just mass stacking Haste, with most of their haste sitting 400-500 range, very low. I mean, my stats run Multi: 628 (9.52%)Vers: 662 (5.09%)Haste: 644 (47.53%) Crit: 668 (11.07%) Mastery: 516 (25.38%)Now granted, my stats are all over the place. Its a little bit of everything. My gear isn't very well prioritized, seeing as how I've not come across many good drops. It seems most high ranking 2h Frost dk's are running Multi in the 1000+ ratings, with 400-500 haste and very low Vers ratings (sub 400)
VRDRF 9 Report post Posted December 23, 2014 This is what askmrrobot and my simcrafts keep telling me for my toon: Str > Multi >= Vers >= Haste > Mastery > Crit
Shaasar 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2014 Haste has always been a pretty confusing stat for Frost to look at because of Killing Machine. It's difficult to see how much the additional haste will help you when you have to consider several different factors, including disease damage, rune cooldowns, and KM procs. Additionally, the fact that haste is our "preferred" stat technically gives haste better "point-for-point" value than other stats. That being said, I'm currently simming haste behind multistrike and versatility. Mastery is so low for obvious reasons, that being that FS plays a pretty small role in our rotation. Additionally, crit is pretty terrible because the stat is essentially useless every time you get a KM proc (if you have a guaranteed crit, then crit is not adding value to the usage of that skill, whereas something like strength or multistrike is). Versatility is always amazing with abilities that are slow and do a lot of damage at once, because versatility gains more value the "bigger" the damage numbers get. My guess is that as stat pools grow in size over the course of the expansion, haste will probably eclipse versatility, because you gain more "extra" haste as stat pools grow larger. As it is now, you probably have something messed up in your sim with KM if you're seeing haste as higher than multi or vers.
Shaasar 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2014 I want to revise my prior statement. I'm actually simming haste for my build as even with multistrike. Might be something to consider, after all.
Jasonkay 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2014 Hi guys , sorry noon question but how do you actually find out your preferred stats in SC? Thanks
drumsmani 47 Report post Posted December 26, 2014 You will need to run some simulations for your character for the preferred fight type options and enable scaling for all the attributes of interest.
FoxBoulder 2 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 Thought I'd throw in that I'm also getting the MS>=Haste=Vers>Crit>Mastery after simming my toon http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/auchindoun/Fox/advanced And that's with a ton of haste...
