kuraigu 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 hey guys. been a long time since i last wrote in this forum. i've been sort of happy with my firemage at the end of SoO. now with WoD, it's being somehow weird. i dont know if i should use more haste or more mastery and what stat is the main stat prioroty. probably still critical strike. if so, why is AMR having a build with mastery being the main stat??? and somehow it feels better having more than 10% haste and 20% mastery. but then again, i don't really know :) here's my char: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/blackrock/Kur%C3%A0%C3%ADgu/advanced
Oltier 471 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 The exact stat weights depend on talents. We give you a general idea, which can be alright for every mage. Here are the weights: http://altered-time.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=750 As AMR says: Mastery is much stronger than Crit in a multi-target situation at all gear levels. With t17 set bonuses, Mastery and Crit are about equal for single-target damage, so we recommend these weights for all situations. This is an explanation as well. Furthermore, keep in mind, that AMR is a tool not a guide. I could set up a build that prioritizes haste over everything else if I wanted... Just get Crit Mastery gear, and you will be a very happy mage, generally..

Oltier 471 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 Alright.. Read this one as well. http://altered-time.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=620 A guide to simcraft, which is generally a very powerful tool for theorycrafters and a decent representation of different builds. Of course you have to change talents a lot. You should always do that according to the fight. the link I gave simcrafted every single combination of talents and their DPS output.
