Need a little help for my Enhancer

Hello everybody,

 

this is my first post on this Forum and im clearly begging for help.

I started playing my Enhancer 1 month before WOD release so im clearly a bit of a noob but im giving my best to master my class so im asking you all to help me achieving this.

Im orienting myself at the given guide of this site but at times i try to test a little bit myself.

So this is my Char

Im using Echo of the Elements and Elemental Fusion cause i thought more Stormstrikes and Lavalashes would result in a higher overall dps at the end of a fight cause those two abilitys recently got buffed. Elemental Mastery and Stormelemental resulting in a higher Burst dps clearly but im dropping very hard in overall dps at the end of a fight.

Sadly i got no Combat logs but when i use the higher burst method im like at 14,5-15k dps at most bosses and the first version with overall dmg im at 15-16k most bosses. So long story i feel like im underperforming.

Rotation is at pull timer 4secs:

Summon Ghostwolves

Summon Fireelemental

At Pull:

Flameshock

Ascendence together with with multistrike trinket and Orc Race ability

windstrike

and lavalash

unleash elements most likely the first 5 stacks of mealstrom will procc now and i follow with lightning bolt

If im lucky and Echo of the elements proccs i follow up with 2 lavalashes and Elemental fusion proccs and i go for Frostshock

rest is spamming Windstrike/Stormstrike and Lavalashes when i got 2 stacks of fusion i spamm frostshock. When Flameshock is running out i try to get 2 stacks of fusion before i reapply it most likely with unleash Elements

at 5 stacks mealstrom i follow up with lightning bolt, should unleash elements be rdy i cast it before and of course Stormstrike Debuff before casting the lightning bolt.

Use Ascendence together with the Trinket and Race ability as soon as it is off cooldown.

So i hope that this post isnt that hard to read cause English is not my motherlanguage and it would be nice if someone could help me a little bit with my favorite Class. Cheers

You are unlucky because enhancement was hit hard, changing from it's roots, we have become aoe whores instead of a good single dps spec, which we were for 8 years. This is unfortunate and trust me i play this spec from TBC when it became viable for raids.

 

For proper rotation advices, you can read again the appropriate IcyVeins page (classes/ shaman-enhancement/ rotation)

 

But yes, echo of elements seems awesome for lvl up and dungeons but it is not that great on long fights single target. 

I would suggest going elemental mastery with Primal elementalist and liquid magma. Fire elemental being glyphed down to 2.5 mins. Till we get our tier set bonuses, i am using elemental mastery with Feral Spirit and racial cd macro as they both have 2min cd and anyway because ascendance is on 3mins cd, i use them once every time when ascendance is ready. Dps loss? i dont know, perhaps it is in WoD, but in SoO , ToT wasnt. I sync them this way so i have my mind on boss mechanics (doing mythic progress 2/7).

 

And your pull seems wrong, have you realized that your poor fire elemental has to run and be always behind the target and on melee to dps right? No point spawning it 20feet far from boss few seconds before pull and having it also to run to the boss after pull timer. You are losing precious dps seconds.

 

 

What i do, i might not be perfect though, 

 4seconds before timer pull ends,

Use spirit walk

Use unleash elements

Drink agility potion

pull happens start running to boss (spirit walk helps :P )

Flame shock when in range or if in range

Cast Fire elemental (if i dont have it glyphed i also press Liquid Magma right after, so i can reuse it while FE is up)

get to melee range

Stormstrike

Liquid Magma (if FE is glyphed)

Feral Spirits macro (so elemental mastery and your racial are also up)

Ascendance (at that point perhaps stormstrike is ready again, depending if they bloodlusted at pull, if that is the case, Stormstrike first, Ascendance after, if maelstrom is x5  throw that bolt, then stormstrike again)

At pulls with BL you  will most likely be spamming Stormstrike Lava lash mostly. If the GCD shows that stormstrike is getting ready before GCD is ready if you press something else, then wait!  I get top burst at pulls this way.

 

 

CD Usage.

 

You have Feral Spirits, Elemental Mastery on 2mins

You have Fire elemental glyphed at 2.5mins

You have Ascendance and racial at 3mins

What i do is use them all every 3 minutes when it counts (boss static etc)

 

For liquid magma, after the initial use , you can use it 2-3 more times before ascendance (and the rest ) is ready. It is a really good talent considering is pretty good and easy to handle for single dps and awesome for aoe. 

 

Alternative talent set, more "stable" dps

Replace Elemental Mastery with Ancestral Swiftness and Primal Elementalist with Unleashed Fury (be sure to dump everything and press UF on cd no matter what though). In this case, i mostly play Fire elemental unglyphed. and for it's second use i wait about 1 minute to sync it with the 3rd Ascendance.(and all cds etc)

I do almost exactly this, except for the spirit walk! (I forgot about it! :X)

 

I agree you are wasting time with fire elemental in the beginning. Ghostwolves too. If you dont have flameshock up by the time you get to melee range, skip it and do it when you have nothing available. One GCD is a huge waste of dps and not worth it for the flameshock DoT in my opinion. Same with Unleashed Fury.. while you're trying to use unleash elements before LB, you're losing potential stacks of maelstrom weapon. Get rid of the 5x maelstrom ASAP. This is my scenario below and I'm able to keep up with the rest of the classes.

Now i didn't have those two trinkets for more than a week but they make a huge difference. 

Before the two trinkets:

My burst off the initial pull would peak at like 55-60K, and i would end the fight at like 18-19K DPS

 

Then I got the scales of Doom.

Burst peaked at the same values but ended the fight at 20-21K DPS

 

I havent tested what i finish the fight with with the coin yet, but the burst increased substantially. Maybe to like 90K on Twin Aggron (might be due to liquid magma). Burst doesnt matter if you end low on the fight right? :)

Thank you for your responses and actually they made me rly think about my playstyle. Ur right i waste too much time on Fireelement and Spirit Wolves. Im gonna try it the way you do it. By the time i already changed my Talents to Liquid Magma, Unleashed Fury and Ancestreal Swiftness plus i worked on my Rota. So now i most likely finish the fight with around 18,5 k Dps and on Bosses with multiple Targets like tectus where u can bomb i go out of combat with even more Dps. So theres still a lot to do but i think im on a good path right now. Like written above thank you for ur responses and if i got more questions im coming back to ask you guys:).
