Im struggling to do decent damage on imperator. Im usually good for 16k and really dont know where im failing other than getting overwhelmed and letting immolate slip.

 

Here is the one attempt i was able to come in top of dps:

From looking at other logs where people are doing 25k+ i see a lot of F+B incinerates and lots more shadowburn. In my expierence i havent been able to keep up F+B without running out of embers quickly.

You might want to enable Advanced Combat Logging. That way people can track your emberbits. 

 

You are using procs on CB, thats great. But there are only 6 usages of havoc on almost a 9 minute fight. Thats not close to optimal. Try to use it on cooldown. A tip for that might be that you can use havoc even without a havoc target just to get the cooldown running. That will net you a better usage of havoc.

 

Aside from that, when you see people doing alot of damage with FnB incin, those people are sitting on the anomaly adds in the intermissions. It depends on the tactic your raid uses. For example I dont do that but i'm allowed to snipe shadowburns onto the big adds there. So just look whatever is possible using your strategy.

 

Aside from that keep up immolate more, it has an uptime of 80%. Try to get that to 95%, we aren't blessed with alot of ember regen so we'll need to maximise getting it ourselves.

 

Those are the things that I have notticed. You should get higher numbers with that in mind.

Hi there!

I'm not a log analyser myself, but I have quite a long relationship with Mor'gok. Can share my experience and what I've seen.

First of all, get rid of Glyph of havoc,imo. 15 sec for 3 hits against 50 seconds for 6 hits doesn't seems fair for me 

I use the same kind of Shadowburn-Havoc interaction like on Brackenspore, usually with BIg Elemental add. Ember generation and free damage are kinda sweet)

I also run Arcimonde's Darkness, For The Win. You are moving like a few steps every minute, plus the Arcane Mark interaction. And at some point you can't run away with Arcane Mark, so you are basically standing and squeezing the DPS.
Not enough movement for KJC, but again, IMO.

For F+B on small adds phase, I would suggest to F+B Immolate them, then use a DS for additional embers. In theory, you'll get some embers to keep AoE up. But it really depends on your raid's plan to dealing with them - @Deamux nailed it right, not every raid is like "AOE them ASAP!!". Free Shadowburns are cool!

Edit: forgot to mention one funny thing.
When we was stuck at the Imp, I've got a bad attempt(>17k dps with my 643) and RL was like "I'm gonna boot everyone with dps >17k"
I've opened my "titles" tab and found myself having a "Kingslayer" title.
Then I was like "Isn't he a Sorcerer-King? And I'm a Kingslayer, hell yeah!"
DPS solidly went up to 18++k from my usual ~17k!
We prevailed shortly after

Concerning havoc, i use it on every add or at least try to. I try to time it when add is half dead so i can use the charges on shadow burn but sometimes my timing is bad and it doesn't workout so well.

As I feel, there is only like 3 things which can differ good Destro from bad one right now:

1)Havoc usage

2)Shadowburn usage

3)Proc usage

You can only be creative/smart with the first two, so...

Imp fight is kinda good suited for Havoc and SB .

Nothing aside from practice and intensive brain activity can help us in this :)

Also remember that Havoc will last for 15 seconds. I typically precast Havoc when there's about 6-8 seconds left on the Arcane Aberration timer. That way, I can CB it as soon as it comes out, and throw up another havoc immediately and either CB again, or SB one (maybe two... thats rare though) to get some free embers. Aberrations timer's aren't 100% but usually come up within 5 seconds of what DBM/BigWigs predict.

I tried again tonight and did much better, My recount showed 18.5k dps (for some reason log is saying 17k, i assume because i died 10s before the whole group did). I also gave the butcher a shot and managed 18.5 again (with some discrepancy on log)

 

If anyone could spare the time to go over these and tell me how i can improve... really want to hit 20k, I would really appreciate it.

Also why do all my logs say they were created on the 15th?

Well, you guys are hitting the enrage on Heroic - that's no good.  You have no DPS over 20k for anyone above 650 item level.  That's a bit concerning.  Looks like your healers are bad here - lots of Gushing Wound deaths.  You can't beat bosses when people are dead.  Also, Culverz needs to pay attention to his stacks - he got to 5 and instantly died.  You also should never need to 4 heal a raid with 14 people in it.  It looks like you guys are trying to cover up bad healers with another healer and it's not working because your DPS is also low.

 

For you, specifically, you didn't do bad.  Immolate was good, Chaos Bolt usage was great, and your Dark Soul use was good.  You missed out on a use of Sudden Clarity.  Should have 3 uses in 4 minutes, not 2.  You also didn't use your 2nd potion.  Not much for you to improve outside of that.

 

It's easy for good players to reach out when they feel their DPS is holding the group back.  You're reaching out when your teammates should be reaching out.  You have small improvements to make, but your teammates are holding you back in a big way.

These were both pugs i did specifically to test my dps. I think I may have forgotten the 2nd pot or died prior. I believe sudden clarity has a 2 min cd so how can i use it 3 times in 4 min?

I have been having troubles with my sandman trinket not proccing during my opener.

1st right at the pull 0:00

2nd half way 2:00

3rd at the end 4:00

 

Give or take a few seconds. A little delay might have put your third one around the time of the wipe. I am not sure where your cooldown were sitting at that point

I usually put my first right as I hit 2 embers so I can use 2 chaos bolts before my pot runs out. So maybe 10-15 seconds in. Then on every cool down. I believe on the attempt I posted we died just as we were going into execute phase so I would have potted and used my cds then.

I would put your first right when your pouch goes off. "Should" be close to right away. That way your cooldown is in line with the ICD of the pouch and you have the crit buff the whole time you have the spellpower buff.  Your way might be fine I will let more experienced players chime in.

That's what I try for. I sometimes get unlucky with procs and by the time it does my prepot is gone. So what I've been doing I popping cds on two embers to be sure I get at least two strong CB's in my opener, if the pouch procs ill pop then so they line up. If they don't line up in the opener ill usually hold off on using my cds again until the pouch procs a second time and line them up then.
