Yaendshay 2 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 Hello! I always find information i'm looking for here at IV forums, so I'm hoping to get one this time ;) Since enchanting is pretty expensive theese days, i want to make proper decision on what to place on my weapon. Here is my Armory. I am thinking about Frostwolf (multistrike enchant), but got a little curious when i checked Unpl (he has spirit enchant on his weapon). Can you tell me, what do you think about? To avoid sentences like 'depends on how you stand with your mana', it seems pretty okay, but we haven't started mythic yet, and i don't know what to expect. Best wishes to all IV Community! Cheers! Kulia 39 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 If you seem comfortable enough with your mana I'd go for the enchant that gives your highest secondary stat. But if you have ANY doubts at your mana management when you hit mythic, I'd opt for the spirit enchant to be safe.
Krazyito 521 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 Spirit or Multistrike. Your choice.
Lothrandir 12 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 One more input: for healing you can't use procs the way DPS can, since there might be little to no healing needed when everything procs. This makes spirit worth more imo, since it's only if you're at full mana (which you'll probably never be), it's worthless. A big multi-strike buff might mean preciously little at the wrong time, and it really is down to RNG. Imo, spirit enchants are a little less RNG-like (by perception ofc, not reality), and you don't have to track it. Having said this, I don't value spirit high when I heal, since MW mechanics (Mana Tea) are such that you can plan your mana gains to a great extent.
Yaendshay 2 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 Now, after Lothrandir's post i feel much more confused than i felt before visiting IV... It's good point that i may waste some multistrike proc for nothing, but on the other hand, i almost constantly hit ReM every CD, so that it's likely to use it on multistrike proc and get extra ReM, which grants me extra chi, more Mana Tea, while still healing a bit more. I am suffering from previous expansion's habit to avoid mastery and spirit as much as possible Next ID we're starting mythic raiding, i think i'll wait since we hit 1st boss so that i'll see if i need more spirit ;) thanks a lot, guys! Teufel 331 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) Still having little to no mana issues with Frostwolf enchant in Mythic progression raids, given the Candle, 670 Darkmoon Trinket and 2 off-pieces with no spirit. That it unless you rely heavily on RJW. For me Frostwolf yeilds something like ~40% uptime. Edited December 30, 2014 by Teufel
Lothrandir 12 Report post Posted January 5, 2015 Sorry for the confusion ... :)
Krazyito 521 Report post Posted January 7, 2015 Personally, I would use spirit in most cases. The throughput proc is normally wasted more than anything. its probably better to drop passive spirit if you want throughput for more passive stats than to use a througput proc. Spinandwin 1 Report post Posted January 21, 2015 Spirit Proc enchant 100%. More mana regen = more RJW uptime simple as that. It's a throughput increase over the multi enchant so long as RJW is ridiculously overpowered. Also the benefit from the spirit enchant is always useful so long as it doesn't proc while you're at 100% mana. ie. never not useful on a boss fight. Whereas like Krazyito said, the throughput one could be wasted. I mean when I hear people say "I never have mana issues". You should be at 10-20% when a progression boss falls over or you're not healing as hard as you can simple as that. Rushing Jade wind doubles your output while it's active. It's invaluable burst and adds massive value to spirit as a stat. It's an invaluable on every mythic boss except Tectus/Kargath. And if the spirit enchant gives 2 Extra RJW's thats 400-450k healing with 670-675 gear simple as that.
