Soul reaper bonus haste > scourge strike?

As the title suggests I keep asking myself if its worth it getting the bonus haste from SR. In the Brackenspore fight and the Imperator Mar'Gok fight I use SR on the adds but im not sure if I should use it.

is priority like: SR dmg proc > SR bonus haste > SS ?

Some other post on here said that the bonus haste only equals to about one rune, I.E the one you spent on it. So no, I don't think it is worth it.

It can be a small gain on certain fights. let's say for example your soul reaper the big add on Imperator, and it dies. The haste will give you back most of the 1 rune you just spent over the next 3 seconds (although it's split between each type of rune) but that still means it's basically a free attack resource wise. If you still have dots up on Imperate they're going to get 1-2 more ticks over the next 3 seconds, so thats a small gain, you're probably going to get 1 more auto attack. and the base attack of soul reaper does hit for 5-7k on it's own, so it isn't a complete loss either, although it's only 1/3 of what scourge strike hits for if you include the second hit.

 

It's another situation where in terms of GCD's spent, it's probably a small dps loss. In terms of runes spent/gained per dps, it's a small gain since it's basically free dps for 1 rune that you'll gain back over 3 seconds. So it really depends on what your resources are like when the proc goes off.

Hmm, that's a *LOT* of conditionals for that being a DPS gain. Personally, I think I'm just not gonna use soul-reaper on adds that die really quick. But if it *does* die before soul reaper ticks, oh well I get the rune back.
