So you advise keeping the ice barrier instead of, for example, mirror entity? I think I like playing with only two secrets, I used to not play Medivh's Valet on turn two and I think that caused me to fall behind in many games. Now I don't hesitate playing him since the chances of him being activating are lower.

In current meta, yes. Mirror Entity will often give you some kind of trash minion like Swashburglar or Knife Juggler.

Hello everyone, posted here late last month and it seems I'll be doing so again this month!

So this time I have two decks I need advice on. the first is a competitive deck, and the successor to my previous deck.

  621a00e37f7225015d034684a58d33ae.png

I have yet to play this, but I was working with a similar version earlier that was based on the deck that was put on this site, so I know how in theory it should work. really I just took the backbone of my old deck and injected Dragon synergy into it.

my second deck is purely casual, as will be apparent

99032b6c99504d274e98da3087453608.png

I just received the wonderful Mayor in a Pack last night, and while I do intend to eventually dust him, I thought I'd have a little fun first. The base Idea of this deck is partly inspired by a deck I found on hearthpwn and partly by a youtube video 'the best of Mayor Noggenfogger'. I don't mind losing with it, butI would like to know if it's Noggenfogging could be improved.

@Leonmorte Hey, finally got time to check your decks (and later your replay).
Equality won't be useful often enough to deserve an inclusion. If you get behind on board against a deck that you would need Equality against, the Equality won't save you. I suggest using Truesilver Champion instead.
The Curator doesn't draw enough cards - you have no beast and only 1 murloc, which means you have below 50% to draw 2 cards. Wickerflame Burnbristle is a better choice here, as it stops aggro by being a taunt that heals you, which is an amazing deal. If you don't have him, you can go for Sen'jin Shieldmasta, who should allow you to flip the kill switch and go all face, or Nightbane Templar to give you a stronger early-game presence. The rest of the cards is pretty much personal preference.

As for your other deck, it's a meme deck at best and making any substitutions to make it better would go against the memeness of the deck (and basically the whole deck would be changed).

I do indeed have Wickerflame, I will take that into account, but the equality is only used when I can also use concentration, for board clear. I can see cutting it to one, but what should replace it? as for the meme, yes I know it's only a joke deck, but I was wondering if there were any better cards to put in it, seeing as I was unsure of the I know a guy being added in.

Truesilver Champion, as I mentioned in the post.

Yeah, I figured, but still, you don't have burn to justify the inclusion of Equality to clear control deck's board and stall. You don't have any big cards that would save the game after the clear. When you play against aggro, Consecration is good enough.

I'd remove one copy of Stolen Goods, both copies of Protect the King!, one Bolster, both Fool's Banes and both Kor'kron Elites (and, of course, Mayor Noggenfogger, though I guess you want to keep him in the deck). 2 Bashes, one Acidic Swamp Ooze, 2 Shield Slams, one Brawl and 2 Ravaging Ghouls should help you fight until the late-game to drop Mayor Noggenfogger. Still, taunt warrior is a meme deck.

I'm not trying for taunt warrior, just trying for a Noggenfogger deck, and all I know for him is Fool's Bane.

Sadly I do not own Mayor Noggenfogger yet (I would love to get him from a pack though), so I can't test it in the deck. Another suggestion is Barnes, though there are only 3 minions with amazing value as 1/1s, and as said previously, I do not have Mayor Noggenfogger so I can't test it out, sadly.
You could try Charge as well, but that will most likely not work out well for you.

This is my take on aggro pirate rogue. I don't have Edwin (replaced with one Questing Adventurer), Patches, or Southsea captain. I do have most commons, rares, and epics from the sets, but limited legendaries, and all the cards from the adventures. I would like to find a way to make Luckydo Buccaneer work in this deck as I just acquired him, but even more, I'd like the strongest deck I can have. I do have Captain Greenskin if having more weapon buff fits in, but most of the pirates that buff weapons seemed slow to me for an aggro deck. Cheers

@JohnnyZYou run only one card to get your weapon's damage to 3, which is simply not enough to activate Luckydo Buccaneer consistently. If you want more ways to activate this card without losing aggro value, you can include Deadly Poison, but that's pretty much it. Deadly Fork is an alright card, but it is simply not good enough to be worth an inclusion (and Deadly Poison is very near that point as well). All in all, Luckydo Buccaneer is not a good card to be run, and is eclipsed by Drakonid Crusher.
So, I wouldn't run the Luckydo Buccaneer or Deadly Fork, and probably not even the Questing Adventurer, as this deck does not have the magical powers to pull zillions of cards from the deck through Gadgetzan Auctioneer's mechanic. Instead, I would run 2 Deadly Poisons (but I am likely biased here, I personally love the card) and a Defender of Argus. You can also run Loot Hoarders, Undercity Hucksters or a Dread Corsair (though only if you do choose to run the Deadly Poisons).

As discussed @positiv2, here my rogue deck you've destroyed earlier today.

fvWwCjJ.png

Also, these are the cards I have in my collection which can be used for rogue decks:

Legendary: Leeroy Jenkins

Epic: Preparation, Murloc Warleader, Fight Promoter

Rare: Counterfeit Coin, Headcrack, Perdition’s Blade, 2 x Spiked Hogrider

Common:  Jade Shuriken, 2 x Jade Swarmer, Abusive Sergeant, 2 x Friendly Bartender, Gadgetzan Socialite, Knife Jungler, 2 x Street Trickster, 2 x Hozen Healer; Jade Spirit, Kabal Chemist, Naga Cosair, 2 x Silvermoon Guardian, Fan Creeper, 2 x Red Mana Wyrm

Thanks!

@NerunI would swap the Doppelgangster out for a Boulderfist Ogre, one Hired Gun for Preparation, second Hired Gun for second Kobold Geomancer, and one Assassin's Blade for second Sap.
Boulderfist Ogre offers higher body value than Doppelgangster. You could have seen that when you had to trade 2, leaving you with only a 2/2, which is quite bad.
Hired Gun gets cleared quite easily and does not offer any great value. Preparation allows you to combo cards and do as many things as possible against aggro, and allows you to get a 4-mana Sprint against control.
Kobold Geomancer obviously gives your spells higher power. This is especially useful when comboing Eviscerate for 5 damage.
I already told you why Assassin's Blade is bad. Sap is nice because it allows you to get rid of taunt minions, buffs and allows you tempo plays.

Your priority would be getting SI:7 Agents and a second Eviscerate in place of Shattered Sun ClericShiv and the second Assassin's Blade. From neutral cards, Azure Drake in place of Gnomish Inventor is almost always a good swap.
Also, go for pity timer on WotOG if you have opened some WotOG packs already.

Hello guys,
I just want your opinion on my current most successful deck I personally call "Swarmlock".

I am rank 19 but trying hard to improve and slowly (mostly F2P) build a collection. I have 580 dust, some will add up with new year (360 I think), M collection is very humble, no real usable legendaries here and no adventures.

I feel like it works sometimes fine, but struggles to keep up tempo with really tempo based decks and cant reliably deal with fullpowered decks with a lot of legendaries etc (but that might be a card selection thing... not sure, beginner here).

Thanks a lot in advance!

@OndrejTrhonThere is definitely a lot of room for improvement, but such is life of new players. I will try to give you low amount of budget swaps.
Lord of the Arena is a weak taunt, especially so in current meta. It is played the turn after opponent warrier might have played Arcanite Reaper so you'd be playing right into it. Rogue could Sap it for 4 mana worth of tempo, or could Eviscerate it and either trade or get boosted by spell power, so that's a counter this this card as well. I suggest using Sen'jin Shieldmasta instead, as the health is the same and the attack is high enough to deal with aggro decks.
Zealous Initiate requires you to have a board, and even then it doesn't have the value of a regular 2/2. Argent Squire is better as a 1-drop, giving you Abusive Sergeant and Dark Iron Dwarf value.
Drain Life's value is too low. You pay 3 mana to deal 2 damage and heal for 2 health, but individually these effects are worth less than 2 mana. Second Argent Squire would be quite likely better.
Raid Leader has awful stats for its cost. Dark Iron Dwarves are much better, as they give you attack as well, but do not have awful body.
Shadowflame in zoo does not have many uses, especially if you already have Hellfires and Abyssal Enforcers.Defender of Argus would certainly be better.
I do not know the size of your collection, so I will stop here and once you have all the swaps complete, make sure to come back to get more swaps.
Hodně štěstí!

IMO Shadowflame and Power Overwhelming can be a very strong combination.

5 mana grants you a 5 damage aoe spell (if you just buff a 1 attack minion)

Imp Gang Boss could be a valuable asset in the deck. With the creation of 1/1 imps you have a very good chance to have a (small) minion on board, letting you activate Power Overwhelming Dark Iron Dwarf and Abusive Sergeant

Buffing a 1/1 to 3/1 in early turns can be incredible strong, especially with the solid body of Dark Iron Dwarf

@WedgeAntilles This deck is a zoo deck at its core, zoo doesn't need AoE really, you trade favorably with your minions, and since zoo is mainly a swarm deck, it is easier to do it. If you somehow fall behind on board, Hellfire is a great card in todays meta. 3 damage is enough mostly, to clear the first wave of opposing minions.

For the combo you've mentioned, if you can do it when the time is right, Sylvanas Windrunner+Power Overwhelming+Shadowflame is an amazing board clear, which has won me several games against jade druid.

@positiv2 thanks a lot, I have added the mentioned cards, crafted squires etc and it all seems to be working well. The major downside at least I guess now is my playing. Mulliganing properly, trading properly, knowing when to play Jaraxxus properly... that should come with time, I guess.

Anyway, as you've referred to my collection, here it is: http://www.hearthpwn.com/members/Bornnover/collection - just in case.

For now I have decided to keep shadowflame, but I have a feeling that it is more often a dead card than not - and that having an impactful minion would have been more practical. Anyway, here's the deck now: http://www.hearthpwn.com/deckbuilder/warlock#473:2;170:2;112:2;213:2;49645:1;422:2;395:1;357:2;519:1;47:1;475:1;647:2;49741:1;128:1;542:1;122:2;326:1;673:1;42:1;49691:2;482:1

Again, thanks a lot all of you!

@OndrejTrhonSo, to make more of your collection, you can swap in Flame Imp, Harvest Golem, Shattered Sun Cleric, second Dark Iron Dwarf and 2x Abusive Sergeant for Shadowflame, Loot Hoarder, Ironfur Grizzly, Friendly Bartender, Razorfen Hunter and Murloc Tidehunter. If you have any questions about specific swaps I just listed, feel free to ask.
Next crafting priorities should be second Defender of Argus and Doomguards, though you might as well start working directly towards our zoo deck.

@positiv2 thanks a lot, well, I have just a question why doesn't an advantage that can be gained from Murloc Tidehunters and Razorfen Hunters in regard to Knife Juggler outweigh the bonuses from your swaps. I have a (not statistically grounded, though) feeling that it has saved me a couple of times.

Other than that, no questions asked and thank you, gonna try it right away!

@OndrejTrhonWhile it does give you a benefit of an extra juggle, drawing into Knife Juggler within the first two turns is not common enough, and keeping Knife Juggler alive for even one turn can very often be hard or outright impossible.
Flame Imp is a great turn 1 play against control and midrange decks, and can give you great tempo advantage. It can also be used to get a nice juggle with a 2-drop if your Knife Juggler does indeed survive.
Harvest Golem is a sticky minion, so AoEs can't kill it in one go, and buffing it to trade can yield tempo, as you will be left with a 2/1 that can be used again to trade.
Shattered Sun Cleric is probably the weakest swap here. If you prefer any card I recommended you to swap out, you can keep it in. The value difference is quite small, so if like playing and can use effectively a card that would be swapped out, simply ignore the proposed Shattered Sun Cleric swap.
Dark Iron Dwarf is a good buff minion. It enables tempo trades, which is the core mechanic of zoo.

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.
      (Source)
Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!

Today, we're recapping the four Shaman cards revealed by Gamespot. We also have some dev clarifications on how they work.
If you missed our previous Warrior recap, you will find it here.

What a way to kick things off; this card looks insane! The dream is that Drakuru takes out two of your opponent’s minions, resurrects them on your side, and survives combat somehow. You’re looking at a 5-for-1 exchange on board.
In the more likely scenario that it doesn’t survive, that’s still a complete flip of the board state. Even if it’s trading into a single big minion on the opponent’s side, that’s still a 2-for-1, with that 1 on your side being a big tough-to-kill minion. The only worry is that there will sometimes be late-game scenarios where the 6/8 stat line won’t be enough to get you any resurrections, but I’m hopeful those are few and far between.
Still, even if the Big Shaman archetype doesn’t catch on for Shaman, I expect this card, in particular, to find a home in Renathal Control Shaman lists. This card is doing much of the same work that Sylvanas and Insatiable Devourer are without having to run through the trouble of infusing first.

Once again, another big expensive card and a solid showy effect to go along with it. Obvious deathrattle/reborn synergy, as well as good with big minions in general. At 10 cost, it will take up your entire mana pool for the turn, though there are things you can do to play around that as a shaman.
We’ve gotten some clarification from the devs on the mechanics of this one:
All the copies summoned die at the end of the effect trigger after having attacked. Unfortunately, it won’t be some corruption-style aura effect that a cheeky Showstopper effect can silence off. Your copies are made from your hand from left to right until no more board spaces are available. Beware that Colossals will summon their appendages and take up potential board space from your other copies. Windfury minions will only attack. Sorry Drakuru, no double freebies for you ? Minions that enter Dormant won’t attack, but they won’t die either! The interaction of getting free dormant minion copies on board is interesting, but is there enough to build a deck around? In standard, there is Gangplank, Slimescale, and Pelican Divers, but outside of From De Other Side “synergy,” they might not be worth it. In Wild, at the very least, there is meme potential with getting Magtheridion and The Darkness out with this and getting their battlecries to awaken both copies when you play them out the turn after.
There’s obvious synergy with the other big cards revealed here, with Prescience loading up your hand with some beefy bois, getting get off reborn, lifesteal and deathrattle value, summon a minion from Overlord Drakuru.

That’s a lot of keywords for a single card, but they work together to become the stuff of nightmares for any board-based aggro deck. Taunt and lifesteal make this a nightmare to trade into, and even with enough removal to clear the main body and the reborn one, the deathrattle effect still will hit for 3 twice and heal you for 6. So while the 3 attack won’t be anything to write home about, plopping this down will buy you a good deal of time. There’s also the possibility to make use of the leftover reborn 3/1 body to evolve into a 9 or 10 drop.

This card will get you 2 Mana 2/3 Ghostly Apparitions with the Undead minion type, which can matter for cards like Unliving Champion, or Invincible, for instance. Suppose you trigger the secondary ability here both times. In that case, that’s a pretty sweet deal right there, advancing a Big Shaman win con in 2 ways: The taunt on the Ghostly Apparitions advances your gameplan of stalling the game out until you can stabilize on board enough to play the 5+ Mana minions you’ve tutored out of the deck.
We’ve theory crafted 3 potential builds that can use this package of Shaman cards.
First, consider diving head first into the Big Shaman theme, bringing in Vanndar Stormpike and forgoing all other sub-5 cost minions to get max value out of Prescience and From De Other Side. We’re also going to run with the evolve subtheme to take advantage of any leftover bodies that we might get from Stoneborn General, Overlord Drakuru, or Blighblood Berserkers. The departure of the Knights of the Frozen Throne set will make evolving 10 drops better again now that there are no more Snowfury Giants in the Evolve pool, and we get to re-roll for the generally better bodies from the 10 costs. We’re adding in some early-game removal to compensate for the lack of early drops so we can better survive the early game.

      AAECAaoICunQBMORBKeNBK/ZBNnsA/rsA4qSBfuRBYfUBKrZBArG+QOs7QS12QTgtQS22QTblATGzgTj9gOGoQX4oAUA
Next, let’s try to use the standard Renathal Control Shaman archetype that’s doing rather well in the meta as a starting point. One safe idea is to look at slotting Overlord Drakuru and potentially Brightblood Berskerker and From De Other Side into this standard XL Renathal Control Shaman as ways of fighting back on board while getting your infuse cards stacked up.

We could instead also try and drop all the duplicates from the list and convert it into a Reno deck, as the deck was already playing a lot of one-offs. That gives us just enough room for one of each of these bad boys, which together with Reno will up the turnaround potential of the deck at the cost of a little bit of consistency. Doing so we can end up with this list:

Why not use both and make it a Reno-thal deck? Prescience and Windchill will try to compensate for the loss of card draw from droping one copy of Gorloc Ravager and Famished fool. We are adding in Convincing Disguise to have still enough evolve effects around. The idea of including Bracing Cold and Far Sight is to hopefully discount From De Other Side or the evolve cards so we make use of any leftover bodies in the same turn. Ozumat’s in here not just to get us up to 40 cards, but because it’s a near guaranteed board clear combo with From De Other side, if you manage your hand and board space just right, that leaves you with all its appendages afterward.
