csnv2810 1 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 Hey guys, I was watching a streammer when I saw something that called me. I am just wondering if it was a WA. It shows the name of the person who kicked, and a progress bar with the cd. Is it a WA?Thank you in advance.
Eldunari12 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 Hey Kraz, I'm trying to make a WeakAuras for the legendary ring (in this case Maalus). The plan is to have an opaque full color icon when the buff is active and I am more than 20 yards away. Then when I am 20 or less yards away then it will change to a full color icon. It would be great if you could make it, otherwise, I've made some attempts, but am having issues with the custom triggers. I started with step one which was to make a simple trigger based if a spell is in range. function() if(IsSpellInRange("Chimera Shot", "target") == 1) then return true else return false end end This custom trigger works for my other characters using different abilities (like Shadowstep for my Rogue and Rejuv/Moonfire for my Druid) however, it doesn't seem to trigger for my hunter at all. Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks in advanced!

So you're gonna have to set the load conditions for the boss you want. (and all it does is just display the icon above your head as an aura) Thanks a lot for this, it is exactly what I wanted! <3 Okay if you're up for it I got a new one for you, I think its going to be easy for you. With the new legendary ring on a 2 minute cd. I would like an icon that shows up whenever someone used their ring (I got this part down myself, really easy). What I was wondering if you could do for me, is to have the weakaura send out a DBM timer ( "/dbm broadcast timer 120 Ring is ready!" ) So that we can easily see if the ring will colide with any timers we don't want to use it on, so we can plan ahead. This is what I have so far (not much) d8J0daGAQuwpekpgs7ssQTPGdJ0mHszUqWSPkhsH0nPsLFrrXTvXWqyNkv7LSBr2pI(jfv)Ls9BfDAqdvHyWkPHReoifLoffrhJQ6CqvlKIKLsj1IHILlXIOK8uultu9CGxtryQQQjRktx4IssEgeYLL66IYgHiJdQSzQy7quFwL(keQMgf(oLOrsrQhsjmAQKXtLQoPK4wkrxtsDELYkHsgfuQ(Mc1YxFXqXvsrxCOOncvqNjacWeY2U1w2ELn7cmDTXHxmqCE1(vtu9G4J4N4N(IDV5ooGoeslXvpm2GGOMaFUpXqUHCwAyiod0)50lGlegXrbEVDrFXj6Pb6RDFX7WWvHEYakui2vdVUcHKbo8edikNWVgr(g4nmKZsJAXEt6tFXpOJdenZl20x8jZlG6RqH4Y0R1x8jZlG6RqH4G61PqFXNmVaQVcfIlu0wFXNmVaQVcfke7mtbdrSw75gIFqWcp6ghuutaepI5iEvwpQ4sFHZ0FBrlgIotIHpXwdtxXu0aota9fdcAj0x8Pba6Tfl(nTrZaX8imIrZaX8iM70Zcx0WDnaqVn2TYmpmhYvmLj9Hsbb5AapDHC1NOMC1Ay6sUcbKRLM(2g1ktkgJqQEO2VE8abro(XgJniKZY6XIpnaqVTDSTOfBHPn7(Evyt8BAFAaGEBHr8v7eIlA3xHyycg6l(nTrZaX8itjgndeZJyUtplCrd31aa92y3kZ8WCixXuM0hkfeKRb80fYv)CcYvRHPl5keqUwA6BBuRmjjwKyrIfjwKyPqSdmbbU0x8Pba6TTJTfTylmTz33RcBIFt7tda0BlmIpnaqVTyfketZIPWi(bbULLqdiYTmLy67bd4mr9SJc8E7cqFfITe(cxcjdC5e5d4h7JOAC4YZnKZsJAXPSZVaV3Ua0UV4nZDCaDiKQjgggQZhgiiigW7NlNLg4e)GGfE0TkOZK4kPOlou0gHkOZeabyczB3AlBVYMDbMU24WlgeuutagzctH4V5JOqmvFX7WWvHEYaIRKIU4qrBeQGotaeGjKTDRTS9kB2fy6AJdVcXiRDFJCFfsa I don't think this one is going to be difficult. Krazyito 521 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 I have it all done now, I just need to find a way to color it, becasue I'm not using any custom code to find the value of the damage, so im not entirely sure how to pull it. I'll let you know when I find out. I still don't know how to do this color stuff. I can give you what I have if you want, but all it does is show what ever is on the tooltip. @Everyone else, give me until later today or tomorrow to try to respond. Haven't looked at this thread in a bit.
Redfella 51 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 I still don't know how to do this color stuff. This video helped me understand the basics of coloring things: https://youtu.be/CrR-7MrBG4g?t=631 Basicly you use a custom color animation and supply it rgb values via a custom function. Krazyito 521 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 It still doesn't work right, becasue the problem is I need a way to access the number in the tooltip, which I don't know where to find (becasue UnitDebuff doesn't even give me the values i want >.>
Redfella 51 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Simplest way to get a value from tooltip is to use Aura trigger with Full Scan, and then ticking "Use tooltip value", after which WAs %s is swapped with actual tooltip value. I for example use that for displaying how much STR Unending Hunger (stacking buff) is currently giving me. I'm not sure if %s can be somehow accessed in a custom function thought, so might be you need to do something like (bit of copypasta for Frenzied Regenration heal size) if not TempTooltip then CreateFrame("GameTooltip","TempTooltip",UIParent,"GameTooltipTemplate") TempTooltip:SetOwner(UIParent,"ANCHOR_NONE") end TempTooltip:SetSpellByID(22842) local heal = tonumber(TempTooltipTextLeft4:GetText():match("Rage into up to (.-) health."):gsub(",","")) It's dirty, but it should work :) Edited July 28, 2015 by Redfella
Derienn 5 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 So I was trying to do a noticement aura showing up when Salivating Bloodthirsters are up on Kilrogg encounter. It works just fine when I use the Unit Characteristics trigger. Specific unit > boss2, boss3, boss4, boss5 > is Hostile The problem is that the aura triggers also when blood globules spawn from Heartseeker (as it checks for bossX unit). But when I use the exact name 'Salivating Bloodthirster' it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Redfella 51 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) Sigh, been trying to make a Custom Function that estimates how many seconds left, until target reaches 35%. Found two existing strings that attempt to estimate time until target @ 0% but the code is damn messy I can't make heads or tails from 'em. Anyone here got good enough understanding and could help me modify either of these two to display Time Until 35%? vaeevictiss 17 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 Coming back to the idea of a clickable aura...just to start off, i made this. It is basically a buff tracker for raids. Shows all the buffs. If you dont have the buff it shows as a desaturated, translucent icon with the buff name in red under it. When you have the buff, if glows in full color with the icon of the particular buff you have. I have also added the food, flasks, and augment runes to it. Would it be possible to somehow make it so when you click on the food and flask icons, it could run that macro/script that shows who in the raid is missing the buff? /run nf="[Flask!]: ";for i=1,GetNumGroupMembers()do for b=1,41 do ufl=UnitAura('raid'..i,;if ufl then if strfind(ufl,"Flask")then break;end;elseif b==41 then nf=nf..UnitName('raid'..i).." ";end;end;end;SendChatMessage(nfb,"raid"); I already have them as a macro on my bars so its not a big deal, but just thought it would be cool to have that functionality. Off topic, as a warlock, when im in a group the blood pact passive shows up just fine. When im solo it does not...i get it, but this aura wont show it, even though blood pact is set as a trigger. The odd thing, i have elvui, and they have the option to show the buffs as a little bar next to the mini map (long story short, i dont like how it looked so i made this lol). It shows blood pact just fine when im solo...so theres definitely a way to do it.
Redfella 51 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 You can't click WAs to trigger anything, but you could make the check trigger on, say, a readycheck or pull timer.
vaeevictiss 17 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 hmm, thats an interesting way to do it. What would be the event for a ready check?
Krazyito 521 Report post Posted July 28, 2015 Simplest way to get a value from tooltip is to use Aura trigger with Full Scan, and then ticking "Use tooltip value", after which WAs %s is swapped with actual tooltip value. I for example use that for displaying how much STR Unending Hunger (stacking buff) is currently giving me. I'm not sure if %s can be somehow accessed in a custom function thought, so might be you need to do something like (bit of copypasta for Frenzied Regenration heal size) if not TempTooltip then CreateFrame("GameTooltip","TempTooltip",UIParent,"GameTooltipTemplate") TempTooltip:SetOwner(UIParent,"ANCHOR_NONE") end TempTooltip:SetSpellByID(22842) local heal = tonumber(TempTooltipTextLeft4:GetText():match("Rage into up to (.-) health."):gsub(",","")) It's dirty, but it should work I looked at that too before I posted it wasnt working, but It wasnt really working correctly for me and I don't know what gsub pattern i need to get it. Krazyito 521 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 You can't click WAs to trigger anything, but you could make the check trigger on, say, a readycheck or pull timer. You can.. Just a pain in the ass to do and it can't really be toggled on or off during combat. (if it's a button, it needs to stay on the screen) -- The event, is READY_CHECK, here is an example aura. http://pastebin.com/5NUeU3Dj
Krazyito 521 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 Sigh, been trying to make a Custom Function that estimates how many seconds left, until target reaches 35%. Found two existing strings that attempt to estimate time until target @ 0% but the code is damn messy I can't make heads or tails from 'em. Anyone here got good enough understanding and could help me modify either of these two to display Time Until 35%? A: http://pastie.org/10317119 B: http://pastie.org/10317124 Try these instead: (you need both) Addon: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/broker_timetoexecute Weak aura: http://pastebin.com/m3TQVAME
elcharrua 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 Hi guys, Im new to weakauras, and i've seen on some ui's of pally tanks, that when they use avenger shield with the 2 piece of the tier, it shows them the amount the absorb has, does any have the weakaura for it? Or anyone can write one? Thanks.
Redfella 51 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) Try these instead: (you need both) Addon: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/broker_timetoexecute Weak aura: http://pastebin.com/m3TQVAME Thanks, will check them. Meanwhile I managed to get the first function converted, will have to check how it works in raid. http://pastebin.com/wvBsrPgQ If that won't cut it, I guess I'll have to go with the addon (would rather not have a dependency in my rotation helper). Jojomaster 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2015 There is a weak aura that displays the range of the closest player in your group, is there any way to display the range of the closest HEALER in your group?
Leut 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2015 I still don't know how to do this color stuff. I can give you what I have if you want, but all it does is show what ever is on the tooltip. @Everyone else, give me until later today or tomorrow to try to respond. Haven't looked at this thread in a bit. I would take it even without color :>

(For anyone interested its: go to custom Display: function(...) print(...) -- This will spam your chat, but its to figure out which value you want local number = select(7, ...) -- This pulled the damage amount that I passed into %s return number -- do w/e you want with the number after this end
Leut 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2015 Many thanks, but i got a little problem. I use the german version and so i changed all Spellnames. And only when i delete the "fire" in "%d fire", i just see the number 2 and 1 on my screen otherwise there are no numbers. I know thats the first number of my Dot-Haste like if it's 2.32 = 2 and if it's 1.94 =
