Frost Mage DPS Gems, Enchants, and Consumables — The War Within (11.1.0)

As part of Dragonflight's overhaul of Professions, many crafted items and consumables may have multiple ranks of quality that impact their effects. For consumables, there are potentially three ranks of an item that may be used, with Rank 3 items (shown with three gold stars) providing the most powerful bonuses. However, higher quality consumables will generally be more expensive and not always necessary depending on the content you are doing. You should be willing to use whatever rank of an item is most within your budget, and save higher-quality consumables for content where you will really need the extra boost!

You should always take the highest rank available to you.

You should use Culminating Blasphemite in one socket. Then, you should ensure you have one gem of each type in other sockets to max out the Crit effect, ideally Quick Ruby/ Quick Onyx/ Quick Sapphire/ Masterful Emerald. Fill in remaining sockets with Masterful Emerald.

Truth told, Culminating Blasphemite's actual DPS contribution is so minor as to be nearly irrelevant. An option is to instead run Elusive Blasphemite for the extra run speed, under the same logic as taking Speed enchants over Avoidance. Another personal choice if you feel it is worth doing.

Keep in mind that you should sim your character to find out which secondary stat is best for your gear. It may change from the suggestions below depending on various factors. More information on how stats work and interact with Frost Mage can be found here:

Slot	Enchantment
Rings	Enchant Ring - Radiant Haste or whatever your sim tells you to run. The practical difference is tiny, and Haste is a good default. Generally do not bother with the Cursed variants, Frost likes all stats too much. Magnificent Jeweler's Setting (adds up to 2 sockets to a Ring or Neck)
Necklace	Magnificent Jeweler's Setting (adds up to 2 sockets to a Ring or Neck)
Weapon	Enchant Weapon - Authority of the Depths
Chest	Enchant Chest - Crystalline Radiance
Bracers	Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Avoidance as a default, and Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Speed if you are not trying to do extremely high-end content, or the alt is simply an alt.
Cloak	Enchant Cloak - Chant of Winged Grace as a default, and Enchant Cloak - Chant of Burrowing Rapidity if you are not trying to do extremely high-end content, or the alt is simply an alt.
Boots	Enchant Boots - Defender's March as a default, and Enchant Boots - Scout's March if you are not trying to do extremely high-end content or the alt is simply an alt.
Legs	Sunset Spellthread, or Weavercloth Spellthread (cheaper)

The deciding factor between Avoidance/Stamina and Speed is simply if you feel like taking a minor amount less damage compared to moving nearly 9% faster at all times. You can make the argument for each in every scenario, even in extremely high-end content. Avoidance lets you survive larger hits; Speed gives you more leeway to run out of an AoE effect. The argument is as old as the game is; pick which you prefer.

For comparisons, full Avoidance enchants is 3.01%, full Leech is 3.0%, and full Speed is 8.82% at the cost of 18k health.

Tempered Potion is the best potion to use.

You should be drinking the Flask of Alchemical Chaos at all times, although Flask of Tempered Versatility can be argued for high Mythic+.

Make sure to apply Algari Mana Oil to your weapon as well.

You should keep a stock of Algari Healing Potions to use when at low health, and if you have a Warlock in the group, grab their Healthstones and use them as well. Do not macro these together, they are best used separately! You can also obtain Fleeting Algari Healing Potion from Cauldrons that can be spawned by Alchemists.

You should be eating from a primary stat Feast at all times, either Feast of the Divine Day, Feast of the Midnight Masquerade, or Hearty Feast of the Midnight Masquerade.

If Feasts are not available, eat Outsider's Provisions, Beledar's Bounty, Jester's Board, or Empress' Farewell instead.

In addition, if you can afford it, you should use Crystallized Augment Runes to increase your primary stat. Augment Runes are expensive, and disappear on death, so use them wisely!
