Macros for Fury Warriors
Generic Macros for Warriors
Warriors typically do not need many macros to play effectively, although a few can be very nice quality-of-life improvements, automating targeting reticules and eliminating excess keystrokes.
With the talent loadouts system creating individual action bars for each set, there is much less need for macros that switch abilities depending on which is talented at the time. That said, [known:######] conditionals will allow this, using a talented spell name or ID to determine which ability is shown.
Abilities which directly replace one another, like Victory Rush and Impending Victory will continue to work regardless of which ability is named in the macro.
Recklessnes and Avatar
- #showtooltip
- /cast Recklessness
- /cast Avatar
Because they share a base cooldown and are both off the GCD, Recklessness and Avatar are often bound together in order to save keystrokes. The order of abilities in the macro does not matter; however, be aware that Titan's Torment causes Avatar to automatically trigger Odyn's Fury, so it may sometimes be better to keep the cooldowns separate in those situations.
Auto-Drop Spear/Ravager
- #showtooltip
- /cast [@player] Champion's Spear
This will instantly drop Champion's Spear at the feet of the character, without the need for a targeting circle, making it very easy to position. Ravager can also be used in a similar manner.
Switch Between Bladestorm and Ravager
- #showtooltip
- /cast [@player, known:Ravager] Ravager; [known:Bladestorm] Bladestorm
This will switch between Bladestorm and Ravager, depending on which is talented at the time. [@cursor] may instead be used to throw Ravager to a target location, though it is not generally recommended as the travel time can consume part of the ability duration.
Pummel Macro
- #showtooltip Pummel
- /cast [@focus, harm, exists][@target] Pummel
This macro uses Pummel against your focus target, if you have one, or against your current target if you have no focus target.
Automatic Heroic Leap
- #showtooltip Heroic Leap
- /cast [@cursor] Heroic Leap
This will cast Heroic Leap where ever your cursor is located, without waiting for the targeting circle.
Heroic Leap Spam
- #showtooltip Heroic Leap
- /cast !Heroic Leap
This allows you to spam the Heroic Leap button, but still retain the ground-targeting circle.
Charge and Victory Rush
- #showtooltip
- /cast Charge
- /cast Victory Rush
- /cancelaura Bladestorm
Because Charge is off the Global Cooldown, Victory Rush or any other melee ability can be used on the same keybind. When outside of melee range, Charge will be cast instead. This macro will also cancel Bladestorm to ensure the player is not prevented from moving quickly.
Charge and Intervene
- #showtooltip
- /cast @harm Charge
- /cast @harm Victory Rush
- /cast @help Intervene
Charge and Intervene can also be combined, even alongside Victory Rush if desired. While this consolidates the abilities down into one keybind, the dynamic tooltip may not always show the spell you want at all times, so it is recommended to track them separately.
Specific Macros for Fury Warriors
Offensive Cooldown Macro
- #showtooltip
- /use Recklessness
- /use Avatar
- /use Blood Fury
- /use Berserking
- /use 13
- /use 14
This macro uses off-global cooldown racial abilities and any equipped trinkets alongside Recklessness.
Addons recommended for Fury Warriors
Generic Addons for Warriors
ElvUI
ElvUI is a complete replacement of the default User Interface. It comes with almost everything you need to perform properly: action bars, unit frames, cooldown timers, proc displays, etc.
Boss Mods: Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs
Boss mods are addons that warn you about boss abilities and give you live advice on how to handle some mechanics. We strongly recommend you to get one such addon. At Icy Veins, we mostly use Deadly Boss Mods, the most popular boss mod. A good alternative is Big Wigs.
GTFO
GTFO is a lightweight addon that notifies you when you are standing in harmful effects or when you are making other such mistakes. It is very useful, even if your boss mod is already alerting you of such things.
Parrot or Mik's Scrolling Battle Text
Parrot and Mik's Scrolling Battle Text are highly customisable addons for displaying floating battle text while in combat (incoming heals, damage of your spells, etc.). They both work very well by default.
Weak Auras
WeakAuras is an extremely useful addon that allows you to have visual effects on your screen, helping you track your buffs, debuffs and cooldowns. It is highly customisable and it can make it much, much easier to keep track of your procs and play your spec more proficiently. It can also be used for a variety of other functions.
TellMeWhen
TellMeWhen is an extremely useful addon with a user-friendly interface that allows you to track a multitude of things, from internal cooldowns, to buffs, debuffs, and procs.
Raeli's Spell Announcer
Raeli's Spell Announcer is an extremely useful addon that allows you to send announcements whenever you use certain spells. It is of particular use to announce when you use raid cooldowns or other important abilities.
Recount / Skada / Details!
Recount is a well known addon that most people use for displaying current DPS or HPS (Healing Per Second). This add-on is not really lightweight, and provides a very high amount of information (and it can sometimes cause issues with performance). It is generally a good option to use Recount for checking what you take damage from and if the share of damage/healing you do with each of your abilities is similar to that of other players of your class.
An alternative to Recount (similar in function, so the choice is personal preference) is Details!.
A lightweight alternative to Recount and Details! is Skada Damage Meter.
Omen Threat Meter
Omen Threat Meter is the most popular addon for displaying the current threat levels on your target. We recommend you to use it to avoid taking aggro when the tank is still building up threat on an enemy.
Specific Addons for Fury Warriors
Currently, we feel that there is no need for additional addons to play a Fury Warrior to its full potential.
