For this build, Aloy's BiS Weapon is Polar Star, it will boost Aloy's Elemental Burst and Skill DMG. You should also manage to get at least 2 stacks of Polar Star's Ashen Nightstar stacks to increase Aloy's ATK further as well. The other weapons mentioned in the previous table are all solid options for Aloy's Burst-DPS build.

Build Aloy with Noblesse Oblige as it will boost her Burst DMG, and also buff her teammate's attack when she uses her Elemental Burst, which she will do often. Another solid option to build is Blizzard Strayer if you want to boost Aloy's personal damage further. If you play Aloy with Furina, you can instead use the Marechaussee Hunter set.

Stat wise, Aloy is a character that requires a bit Energy Recharge. You will need at least 140% Energy Recharge for this build.

As Aloy is best built as a Burst-DPS, so we need to focus on her Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill. While we recommend you don't fully neglect her Normal Attack, it is not worth it to invest heavily.

Aloy Combos and How to Play

Aloy's playstyle centers around her Elemental Burst, Prophecies of Dawn. This burst is a large Cryo AoE and can be used as a trigger for powerful Elemental Reactions. This Elemental Burst recharges quite quickly with a low 40 energy cost, allowing you to setup other Elements while Aloy is off-field then bringing her back on-field to use her Burst and Skill again. Due to this Aloy is typically played in quick swap teams.

Aloy also possesses a unique stacking mechanic called 'Coils'. These are generated from her Elemental Skill, Frozen Wilds, which spawns small Freeze Bombs on the battlefield. When an enemy triggers one of these, Aloy will gain a single Coil Stack. Once you get 4 stacks, Aloy will enter her Rushing Ice state which infuses her normal attack with Cryo.

A normal rotation with Aloy will be:

  • Prophecies of Dawn
  • Frozen Wilds
  • Swap Aloy out
  • Use your other character's abilities
  • Swap back on Aloy for her Burst and repeat

Anemo characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha, Sucrose, or Jean can group Aloy's Bombs the same way as they group enemies, which allows you to trigger the bombs more often.

4.

Aloy's Best Team Compositions

Aloy's role is a Burst-DPS, which means she is used to quickly swap in, use her Elemental Burst and skill, and swap out again. This will let Aloy trigger Freeze and Melt reactions, or serve as a battery for other Cryo characters. However, while Aloy can be an option, know that she is rarely the most optimal one.

4.1.

Aloy Freeze Team

Support Main DPS Support Swirl
Aloy Kamisato Ayaka Furina Jean
Aloy Ganyu Sangonomiya Kokomi Shenhe

Furina is one of the best supports for Aloy. She allows you to use the Marechaussee Hunter set, both providing Aloy with a good DMG boost with the HP fluctuation. However, if you do use Furina, you will need to have a good healer, as otherwise Aloy will not be able to survive very long. Jean is a great option here, as she can heal and also gather Aloy's Bombs together with enemies. Kamisato Ayaka or Ganyu will serve as the main DPS in this team. Aloy will also be a battery for them.

You can replace Furina with Yelan Xingqiu, or Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Jean with Kaedehara Kazuha or Sucrose.

You can also choose to use two Cryo characters. In this case, replace the Anemo character with another Cryo unit such as Shenhe, Rosaria, Kaeya, Diona, Layla, or Mika. Any Cryo could do the job, and it more or less depends on whether you want another sub-dps, or a shielder/support.

4.2.

Aloy Melt Team

Main DPS Sub DPS Support Support
Aloy Xiangling Bennett

This team focuses on the Melt elemental reaction. Bennett is indispensable as he provides a massive ATK buff to Aloy who will have to serve as the main damage dealer. Xiangling contributes to the overall damage and enough Pyro pyro application to trigger Melt often. The Anemo character will enable Swirl Pyro, and will group the bombs with the enemies.

Aloy's Talents

Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.

Type Talent Name Brief Explanation
Normal Normal Attack: Rapid Fire Standard Normal Attack performs 4 consecutive bow strikes. Using a Charged Attack with infuse your arrowhead with Cryo DMG. Plunging Attacks strike the ground below, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill Frozen Wilds

Aloy tosses a Freeze Bomb that explodes for Cryo DMG and leaves behind Chillwater Bomblets that explode on contact with opponents or after a short delay, dealing Cryo DMG again. When your Freeze Bomb or Chillwater Bomblet hits an opponent, Aloy will gain a Coil stack.

Each Coil stack will:

  • Each stack increases Aloy's Normal Attack DMG.
  • When Aloy has 4 Coil stacks, all stacks of Coil are cleared. She then enters the Rushing Ice state, which further increases the DMG dealt by her Normal Attacks and converts her Normal Attack DMG to Cryo DMG.
Elemental Burst Prophecies of Dawn Aloy unleashes an AoE Cryo based attack in front of her in a large ring. Enemies inside are damaged with Cryo DMG.
