Aloy Freeze DPS Build

Aloy is played as a main DPS, utilizing a unique mechanic called 'Coils' which she needs to gain 4 of to activate her Cryo Infused Normal Attacks. On top of this unique mechanic, Aloy's Elemental Burst is a solid AoE Cryo ability with a relatively short cooldown and decent energy cost.

Aloy's weapon selection focuses on a solid damage buff for her to take advantage of. Her best-in-slot weapon Polar Star grants us an overall buff to her abilities, but also a stacking increase to her overall ATK. Aloy's quick gameplay style works fantastic with this bow, quickly gaining maximum stacks to push her damage output higher and higher.

However, Update 5.0 has added a new bow called the Chain Breaker. This bow opens up another way to boost ATK damage for Aloy based on her party makeup. This potential still needs further testing as Aloy's teams can be quite limited and this bow's weapon perk is based on using different elemental characters or Natlan specific characters. This can create a major draw back by forcing certain character combinations to be used and might not fit everyones preferred party members.

As for Aloy's artifacts, generally the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer is best for Freeze teams while Emblem of Severed Fate is chosen for focus on ER and buffs to her Elemental Burst. Her Energy Recharge requirement isn't overly high with a base requirement of 140%, hitting cap at 165%. This amount can be easily supported through other character's help or simply by focusing some of your artifacts stats on Energy Recharge. Her alternative sets are focused around her Elemental Burst, which provides most of her DPS and amplifying its effects as much as possible. The Gilded Dreams set should only to be used with a team that specializes in quick Elemental Reactions.

Combos and How to Play Aloy

Aloy's playstyle centers around her Elemental Burst, Prophecies of Dawn. This burst is a large Cryo AoE and can be used as a trigger for powerful Elemental Reactions. This Elemental Burst recharges quite quickly with a low 40 energy cost, allowing you to setup other Elements while Aloy is off-field then bringing her back on-field to trigger reactions. Due to this Aloy is typically played with quick swap teams.

Aloy also possesses a unique stacking mechanic called 'Coils'. These are generated from her Elemental Skill, Frozen Wilds, which puts small Freeze Bombs out on to the battlefield. When an enemy triggers one of these, Aloy will gain a single Coil Stack, this can happen once every 0.1s so with a good placement of her skill, you can generate a lot of stacks quite quickly. Once you have attained 4 stacks, they will be used to put Aloy into the Rushing Ice state which infuses her normal attack with Cryo. Anemo characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha can group Coils much like how they can group enemies.

Aloy Ganyu Sangonomiya Kokomi Kaedehara Kazuha

A straight forward team, where Aloy is focused on using her abilities to keep enemies frozen. This is an active playstyle with Aloy doing her best to focus on building up her Coil stacks, then adding Cryo to standard attacks. The rest of the team is rotated on and off the field, quickly using their Elemental Bursts and skills one top of one another for elemental application and reactions.

Aloy Melt Team

Aloy Xiangling Bennett

This team stacks the Pyro application on enemies of both Bennett and Xiangling, both being able to take advantage of their skills continuing while they are off-field. Our Anemo character provides team buffs and Swirling Pyro, plus a Elemental debuff with the Viridescent Venerer set. Aloy is played on-field building Coil Stacks and using her Cryo damage to trigger elemental reactions.
