Long Cooldowns on Amber's Elemental Skill.
Requires a LOT of investment to catch up to other Pyro DPS.
Amber Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority
Amber can be built as either a Sub DPS or a Support character, which can impact Amber's best weapons and best artifact sets alongside how she is played. Select one of the buttons below to see either Amber's Sub DPS Build or Support Build.
Amber's Build Options
Sub DPS Amber Build
A Sub DPS Amber build takes advantage of her Charged-Shot gameplay together with her Pyro application to trigger Melt. This implies you play her with Cryo characters. If you have C4+ Amber, you can build her for the Explosive Bunny playstyle.

Support Amber Build
If you want to play Amber as a support, you will mainly use her Burst to apply Pyro and buff the rest of the team. Amber's build as a support will be slightly different than DPS Amber. Most notably, her recommended weapons, artifact, and talent priority will change.

Amber's BiS weapon depends heavily on whether you plan to build her as a DPS or a Support. As a DPS, The First Great Magic bow will be the best build choice thanks to the CRIT DMG it provides and its passive. If you build Amber as a Support, your BiS weapon will be Elegy for the End instead for the Energy Recharge and the teamwide buff.
Favonius Warbow is only used if you build Amber as a support, and if you are low on Energy. You will have to build more CRIT Rate on Amber if you wear this bow, to make sure you trigger the passive.
For Amber's Artifact choice, similar to the weapons, the choice depends entirely on what role you want Amber to play:
- As a Charged Shot focused DPS, Amber will need Shimenawa's Reminiscence
- Playing Amber as Explosive Bunny DPS, Crimson Witch of Flames is better
- The Amber Support build will work the best with Noblesse Oblige
In regards to Amber's stats requirements, as a DPS she will only need around 100 / 120% Energy, while her support build will require between 160 - 240%, depending on the presence of a Favonius Warbow in your team or not. With Favonius you do not need to go over 200% ER.
For Amber's talents, as a DPS you will have to upgrade her Normal Attack first if you play with the Charged Shot mechanic. A C4+ Amber for Explosive Bunny will require you to focus on her Elemental Skill first. If you build Amber as a support, you upgrade her Elemental Burst first, and you can completely disregard her normal attack.
Amber Combos and How to Play
Amber can be a viable Sub DPS option. This will require you to use the Charged Shots mechanic, meaning aiming and charging your bow shot before shooting. This way you will deal Pyro damage, which will enable Melt.
Once your Amber reaches C4 or higher, you can use the Explosive Bunny mechanic. This means using her Elemental Skill to spawn her Bunny, which will taunt and lure in enemies, and then charging your shot to shoot at the Bunny and make it explode on the surrounding enemies. The Bunny is also a good way of gaining energy, as it produces a lot of particles upon exploding.
If you play Amber as a support, your only goal will be to swap her in to use her Burst and put down her Bunny. She will only be there to support a main Pyro DPS.
Amber's Best Team Comps
As a DPS Amber will want to be paired with at least one Cryo character for Melt teams. Adding a Shielder can be beneficial as well, especially for Charged Shots, as she can be interrupted easily when charging.
As a Support, you will want to pair her with a main Pyro DPS, as Amber's main role as a support is to apply Pyro.
Amber Melt Team
Main DPS | Main DPS | Support | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Rosaria | Amber | Kaedehara Kazuha | Bennett |
Ganyu | Amber | Sucrose | Zhongli |
Amber's Melt team revolves heavily around Amber applying Pyro for the Main Cryo DPS to trigger Melt. Whether you play her as Charged Shot of Exploding Bunny, you can use the same teammates. The only difference would be that for the Exploding Bunny you do not necessarily need any shielder, and you can use Bennett. If you want to use Bennett with charged shot for his buff, we recommend you switch out the Anemo character for a shielder.
Amber Support Team
Main DPS | Support | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Hu Tao | Amber | Kaedehara Kazuha | Yelan |
Lyney | Amber | Kaedehara Kazuha | Bennett |
As a support, Amber's role is to use the Bunny to aggro enemies so the main DPS can easier target multi-enemies. Hu Tao and Lyney are the two main DPS that Amber can support. Bennett is a required unit for Lyney. However with Hu Tao a range of Anemo or Hydro can be used.
