Baizhu Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Baizhu is a 5-star Dendro character that owns the Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue. He is a relatively new addition to the Dendro character choices and offers healing, a limited shield, and a great off-field Dendro application. He is primarily used as a support Dendro applicator for reactionary teams, but can also provide a solid team heal.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Awesome healer
- His shield can do Dendro damage
- Has a good set of off-field tools
- Shield is very weak
- Does not have an AoE Dendro skill
Baizhu Support Build
Baizhu can provide teams with a heal and small shielding effect when using his Elemental Skill Universal Diagnosis . This is quite helpful as it stays with the active character, allowing us to swap our DPS role and keep the benefits. Baizhu has a very unique ascension that plays so well into reactionary teams: for each 1,000 HP up to 50,000, he will increases Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom and Burgeon reaction damage by 2% when your active character is healed. This makes him such a powerful ally to add to a good reactionary team, and where we will be focusing on in this guide.

Baizhu's main scaling stat is HP, but we also need to address his need for Energy Recharge, so our weapon selection is going to focus around these two stats. His best in slot weapon will be his signature weapon, Jadefall's Splendor, with its weapon skill built primarily for him, adding energy restore and buffing your team's elemental damage base on his HP. His next best choice is basically a lesser version of his Jadefall's Splendor: the Prototype Amber. This grants an additional heal and gives energy back to your team when you use an Elemental Burst. Another 4-star option that is more focused on Energy Recharge is the Favonius Codex, this has great energy production for CRIT teams and is easy to build up to rank 5. Baizhu is not massively depend on a specific weapon so pick whichever is the easiest to level to max.
His top choice for Artifacts is the Deepwood Memories set, with the biggest bonus to the set allowing him to shred Dendro resistances. This can also occur when he is off-field, triggered through his shield application on the active character. An alternative 5-star set can be the Ocean-Hued Clam set, however, this set is limited by how much Baizhu can heal his team for, corresponding to the damage bubble it produces. As for a 4-star set, the Instructor is our best choice despite the loss in stats of it being a 4 star.
As a final note about Baizhu's Energy Recharge requirements, we generally want to aim for a standard of around 200% as our ideal figure. However, this is entirely dependent on who he is teamed with, as different compositions can assist with his energy needs. This could take a bit of tinkering to get it in the sweet spot.
Combos and How to Play Baizhu
The first thing to know about Baizhu is that his primary heal comes from his Elemental Skill, not his Elemental Burst. This offers us some great rotational healing as we cycle through our team, coming back to Baizhu as soon as his Elemental Skill is available again. The heal also affects the entire team, adding some great utility for a short recharge. However, this skill is single-target focused and only jumps to nearby enemies, so you want to have your enemies grouped together before you send out your skill.
Next is his Elemental Burst skill, which is once again limited to a single target, primarily your active character. This skill creates a small shield around your active character, that will heal that character once destroyed and spread Dendro onto the battlefield. This shield will cycle on and off your active character at set intervals, hitting enemies around you with Dendro while renewing the shield and healing you. This shield is not overly beefy, but it can be quite helpful for characters who need some interruption resistance while they use charged attacks. It is also a very good off-field Dendro spreader, staying on the field regardless of whether or not Baizhu is out. This skill allows us to take advantage of the constant Dendro application, while we use other elements on our active character at the same. This creates some great elemental damage from the fast reactions and build up to a decent amount of output. Add on top of that Baizhu's Ascension that buffs reaction types based on his HP and we have a great formula for success.
Baizhu's Best Team Comps
Baizhu Hyperbloom Team #1
Off-fielder | Main DPS | Hydro Spreader | Dendro Spreader |
---|---|---|---|
Baizhu | Furina | Kuki Shinobu | Alhaitham |
Baizhu and Furina compliment each other very well in this Hyperbloom team, with both of them offering increases in damage for elemental reactions from their passives. Furina is particularly useful as she gets stronger the more she uses health up from her team. This plays perfectly into Baizhu's ability to have consistent healing even when he is off-field. This team has two sources of healing to maximize Furina's buff on our team, but also Kuki Shinobu's on-field Electro skills can set off our Dendro cores. The primary DPS for this team is combined between Alhaitham and Furina, and there is not a set order to this rotation — simply focus on fast swaps and using your skills.
Baizhu Electro Team
Support | Off-fielder | Main DPS | Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Baizhu | Fischl | Keqing | Kaedehara Kazuha |
This Electro team excels at Electro damage and when you combine all the Electro on the field with Baizhu's Elemental Burst, Holistic Revivification , you are going to see a lot of Elemental Reactions. This team has a very simple setup, with Kazuha starting off our rotation by grouping our enemies up and using his abilities back to back. Then we bring out Fischl for her Nightrider skill and then Baizhu to hit the grouped up enemies with his Elemental Skill Universal Diagnosis . This can be followed up with his Elemental Burst, before you swap back to your main DPS. Now with Keqing on the field, we can clean up with her elemental abilities. This is very easy to play and hard to screw up.
Baizhu Hyperbloom Team #2
Support | Off-fielder | Buffer | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Baizhu | Kamisato Ayato | Kuki Shinobu | Nahida |
This is another Hyperbloom combination that takes advantage of both Baizhu and Kuki Shinobu's on-field skills that attach to an active character. Here we will be focusing on Kamisato Ayato as our primary on-field character for his extremely fast Hydro attacks. Nahida helps to cycle on and off the field with her Dendro abilities to push out more Dendro cores. Once again, the rotation here is not extremely specific — just keep your Dendro shield and Electro buffs up on Ayato. He is the heavy lifter here and will be both the main DPS and driver for your reactions.
Baizhu Burning Team
Healer | Support | Dendro Damage | Pyro Damage |
---|---|---|---|
Baizhu | Emilie | Kinich | Dehya |
This triple Dendro team uses Dehya to initiate Pyro burn damage against enemies while cycling through the rest of the team to maintain both buffs and Dendro application. Be sure to equip Deepwood Memories on Baizhu or Dehya for this build to maintain decreased resistances on the enemy. Kinich is our primary on-field character for damage, just be sure to stay inside the Pyro field at all times. Emilie's skillset is also enhanced against any burning enemies, applifying her off-field damage output. There is no set rotation, but your goal is to simply maintain Dehya's Elemental Skill and Burst for your Pyro application while cycling through the rest of team's Elemental Burst abilities.

Baizhu's Constellations
Almost all of Baizhu's constellations are useful for enhancing his healing capabilities, but C1 for him is particularly helpful for spreading Dendro into packs of enemies. This works great on a fast swap team as he can use his Elemental Skill twice, adding to the effectiveness of his rotations.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | Attentive Observation | Universal Diagnosis gains 1 additional charge. |
C2 | Incisive Discernment | When your own active character hits a nearby opponent with their attacks, Baizhu will unleash a Gossamer Sprite: Splice. Gossamer Sprite: Splice will initiate 1 attack before returning, dealing 250% of Baizhu's ATK as Dendro DMG and healing for 20% of Universal Diagnosis's Gossamer Sprite's normal healing. |
C3 | All Aspects Stabilized |
