Chiori Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Chiori is a 5 Star Geo Sword character, who uses her Skill to deal most of her damage. Her skill summons "dolls" which stays on field when you swap her out. She fits into every Geo team, and can replace Albedo in all the teams he is in, unless you rely on his Geo construct. She is a great off-field DPS when it comes to Geo, with the opportunity to be a Main DPS if want, although at the expense of getting her to C6.
This guide will focus on Chiori's best weapons, builds, artifacts, teambuilding and more!
Chiori Strengths and Weaknesses
- Has low field time.
- Great quickswap gameplay.
- Slots into most Geo teams with ease.
- Great F2P weapon options.
- Good exploration passive.
- On Field damage locked behind C6.
- Requires another Geo Character (who can summon Geo Constructs if C0) in her team for her DMG.
- Her skill can be finicky in terms of attack patterns.
Off-Field DPS Build
Chiori's is best built as an off-field DPS, which opens up some of her weapon choices. Furthermore, she scales on both ATK and DEF, meaning that it is much easier to build her Artifact sets.

You tend to build Chiori for the same role as Albedo, but with the option of being able to also benefit from ATK since she scales on that too. As the vast majority of her damage comes from her Elemental Skill, Golden Troupe is one of her best sets. Husk of Opulent Dreams is the other set, and both sets are really close to eachother. This means will usually come down to what you are currently farming and your team setup. If you use a Gorou, Troupe might get ahead, if you have a set of Husk with perfect stats, then that will be ahead. However, Husk of Opulent Dreams is farmable through the Strongbox mechanic, meaning that you can farm this set while farming other sets, by converting artifacts you wont use, while Troupe is not in there till the next Region gets released with 5.0.
Without Constellations, Chiori's burst is less important. It still provides damage, however without the extra Kinu dolls summoned with her C2, being able to cast her burst in every rotation becomes less of a priority. This makes Energy Recharge less important to Chiori.
Many of her weapon choices are pretty clear as to why they are there. The first one is her banner weapon, Uraku Misugiri and is thus tailored to her. Wolf-Fang is a Battle Pass weapon, and while its CRIT Rate passive is a dud on her (it can not stack while off-field), the Elemental Skill damage is really good on her. It also has a CRIT Rate substat, which is highly desirable too. This is why Harbinger of Dawn is on the list as well, since she can deal damage off field, it provides a massive chunk of CRIT Rate for free, on top of giving CRIT DMG as its substat. Just don't run Harbinger of Dawn if you have Furina or other people who taps health, as it will break the passive.
Combos and How to Play Chiori
Chiori's playstyle can vary depending on your Constellations but in general, you want to utilize the Tapestry effect from her first Ascension Passive Tailor-Made. What the Ascension passive does is that when you use your Skill, you get a small window where you can either trigger Tapestry by clicking on your skill or trigger Tailoring by either waiting out the timer or by Normal Attacking. Tapestry makes you swap to the next character, and then trigger a buff called Seize the Moment. This buff triggers coordinated attacks with the Tamoto doll, that Chiori's Skill summons, whenever your active character attacks. This coordinated attack deals the same amount of damage as Chiori's skill does and is still considered Elemental Skill DMG for effects like Golden Troupe.
When playing Chiori as an Off-Field DPS, you need to consider her position in your party. This is because Tapestry swaps to the character below her in your party list (or to the first character if she is listed as the 4th). The buff given by Tapestry does transfer between other character swaps, but if you have any other swap relevant buffs like Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, then you have to consider this. The Tapestry buff lasts for 8 seconds, and a coordinated attack can be done twice with a 2 second cooldown, so remember to also consider this.
Chiori's other playstyle revolves around Tailoring, which infuses Chiori's weapon with Geo for 5s. However without C6, her attacks do not deal that much damage and the uptime is low, as her skill has a 16s CD on top of the infusion only lasting 5s. C6 makes her attacks scale on DEF too while reducing the cooldown of her skill down to 4s. The Geo infusion can also be overwritten, which makes it weird to use with other characters that can give elemental infusions.
Chiori's Best Team Comps
Chiori is a decently flexible Geo off-field DPS, and can pretty much replace Albedo in all of his comps if you wish to do so. She is also a much more offensive Geo character when compared to Zhongli, while she does not provide any kind of shielding outside of the occasional Crystallize. You mainly want to pair her with another Geo that can summon Geo constructs unless you have Six Paths of Sage Silkcraft (C1), at which point you just need another Geo Character in the party. She can partner up with Navia extremely well even without the first Constellation, as Chiori's Energy generation is very consistent while both have the same quickswap playstyle.
Chiori Mono Geo Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Arataki Itto | Chiori | Gorou |
This team is a variant on one of Arataki Itto's Mono Geo teams, as all we have done is replacing Albedo with Chiori. She benefits just as much from Yun Jin's and Gorou's support abilities. Yun Jin's slot is pretty flexible though, and you can slot in Furina, Zhongli or Yelan instead.
Navia/Chiori Swap Team
Main DPS | Sub Dps | Sub Dps | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Navia | Chiori | Furina | Bennett |
Chiori fits into this comp easily as Navia can use the extra Energy generation as well as the extra Geo so that you trigger more Crystallize. Furina and Bennett provide the 2 other Elemental types for Navia so that Crystallize can occur, while Chiori and Navia take up less field time meaning you get to swap characters around more. With this comp, you do not want to use Harbinger of Dawn on Chiori, as Furina makes it near impossible to stay above 90% HP. Additionally, Bennett's Burst will not heal you when you are above 70% HP. That is something to note with this team as well, outside the Crystallize shields, you will not have a lot of healing without sacrificing Furina's damage with her skill.
Bennett is a great healer, but since he can not cap your health, you are effectively playing in a relatively low HP team, so you need to be aware of that when it comes to mechanics. While this team has no Geo Construct, it can still work fine. C1 alleviates this, as it lets Chiori trigger the Geo DMG bonus from her 2nd Ascension Passive and triggers a 2nd Tamoto no matter what.

Chiori's Talents
Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.
Type | Talent Name | Brief Explanation |
---|---|---|
Normal | Normal Attack: Weaving Blade | Regular attack patterns as most sword users. Normal attack is 4 combo hit. Charged attack is two slices infront of you. |
Elemental Skill | Fluttering Hasode |
Chiori dashes forward, summoning an automaton doll "Tamoto" and deals AoE Geo DMG at the end of the dash. The DMG is based on her ATK and DEF. Holding the skill will allow you to aim the dash direction.
|
Elemental Burst | Hiyoku: Twin Blades | Twin blades leave their sheaths as Chiori slices, dealing AoE Geo DMG based on her ATK and DEF. |
To upgrade a single talent to level 10, it costs:

Chiori's Constellations
Chiori's Constellations are not as high-powered as other 5 Star characters, however they do expand on her team compositions and make her able to be more of an on-field DPS with Sole Principle Pursuit (C6). Her first constellation Six Paths of Sage Silkcraft is what you want, if you want her to be as flexible as possible, while C2-C4 are DMG increases. Her C6 allows her to be a lot more on-field, as it makes her Normal Attacks deal quite more damage and makes your skill have a 4s CD.
Constellation | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
1 | Six Paths of Sage Silkcraft |
The AoE of the automaton doll "Tamoto" summoned by Fluttering Hasode is increased by 50%. Additionally, if there is a Geo party member other than Chiori, Fluttering Hasode will trigger the following after the dash is completed:
|
2 | In Five Colors Dyed | For 10s after using Hiyoku: Twin Blades, a simplified automaton doll, "Kinu," will be summoned next to your active character # every 3s. Kinu will attack nearby opponents, dealing AoE Geo DMG equivalent to 170% of Tamoto's DMG. DMG dealt this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG. Kinu will leave the field after 1 attack or after lasting 3s. |
3 | Four Brocade Embellishments |
|
4 | A Tailor's Three Courtesies |
|
5 | Two Silken Plumules |
|
6 | Sole Principle Pursuit | After triggering the follow-up effect of Tailor-Made, Chiori's own Fluttering Hasode's CD is decreased by 12s. You must have unlocked Tailor-Made first to benefit of this. In addition, the DMG dealt by Chiori's Normal attacks are increased by 235% of her DEF. |
