Clorinde Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Clorinde is a 5-star Electro Sword character in Genshin Impact. Our Clorinde guide and build will focus on Clorinde's best weapons, best artifacts, skills, constellations and Clorinde's best teams.
Clorinde Introduction
Clorinde is a 5-star Electro Sword character whose main focus is to enter the Swift Hunt state through her Elemental Skill, and then build Bond of Life to be spent with her Elemental Skill. She comes with high amounts of CRIT Rate increases in her kit and has good Electro Application while on field.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Flexible character, that does not hoard on-field time
- Centered around her Elemental skill instead of Burst for her Damage
- Loads of free CRIT Rate in her kit, making her easier to build.
- Forced to do Electro-based Reactions to unlock a large portion of her damage.
- Bond of Life mechanics can be punishing if you get hit by mechanics at the wrong time.
- Large amount of damage locked behind her first and second constellations.
Clorinde DPS Build
Clorinde plays around her Elemental skill converting her Normal Attacks for 7.5 seconds, then most likely swapping out to setup another rotation. Her skill has a 16s cooldown, so you would have ~7-8 seconds to setup Bursts and effects from other characters.
Her weapon selection is pretty straight forward, as her Signiture weapon will be the best for her. Finale of the Deep is a really good Sword for her aswell, which makes her quite friendly to F2P accounts.

Clorinde's best weapon is her signature weapon Absolution. Not only is it a CRIT DMG weapon, it also ties for the highest base Attack on Swords, on top of its effect increasing CRIT DMG even further. Its effect is easy to maintain, as Clorinde has no issue generating and clearing Bond of Life. Other options are also swords that complements Clorinde's kit really well. Just be aware of Haran Geppaku Futsu, as this weapon gives CRIT Rate instead of CRIT DMG. At lv90, it gives 33.08%, which means you will baseline have 75.08% CRIT Rate. This drops the value of CRIT Rate drastically.
Mistsplitter Reforged as a base, is the exact same as Absolution, and Mistsplitter's Effect is easy to maintain as long as you use your Burst as it comes up. The Black Sword is an easy weapon to pick up, as it is on the Battle Pass, which buffs your Normal Attacks and gives you a small heal now and then, which will be converted to Bond of Life. This weapon also gives CRIT Rate, although slightly less. Nevertheless, it drops your need for CRIT Rate significantly.
As of right now, Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy is her best set, however Gladiator's Finale is the easiest to passively farm as you can get this from any world boss.
A note on Thundering Fury, on paper it seems to perform pretty well especially in Aggravate comps, however this might not translate well in game. It extends your rotation by a significant amount, as your skill comes off cooldown faster, which may reduce your overall DPS.
With regards to stat priorities, Clorinde is a Main DPS or an Electro Driver, with a heavy focus on ATK % and CRIT DMG, as her kit gives her a lot of free CRIT Rate. Energy Recharge is not a bad stat either, as her Burst does lean into her Skill by generating a lot of Bond of Life instantly.
Clorinde's Mechanics and Bond of Life
Clorinde's kit revolves around her Elemental Skill, where she will enter a new stance called Night Vigil. This stance works akin to Childe's, where her Normal Attack changes and is converted to Electro DMG. However unlike Childe, the Cooldown of her skill is static. During this period, her skill changes into a lunge attack.
While Night Vigil is up, Her Normal Attacks will generate 35% Bond of Life if the Bond of Life equals to less than 100% of your health. Any healing received during this will generate Bond of Life instead of healing as well. The Lunge attack has 3 stages based on how much Bond of Life you have generated, where its damage increases with each stage. The 1st stage only happens if you have no Bond of Life and only deals damage, while the 2 other stages will convert the Bond of Life cleared, into healing. All the DMG from her Skill is considered Normal Attack DMG, thus any %Skill DMG is avoided.
Her skill multipliers seems low on paper, however her 1st Ascension talent is the reason for this. Whenever an Electro-based Reaction happens, Clorinde gains a buff that stacks up to 3 times. This buff makes her Electro DMG from Normal Attacks and Elemental Burst deal additional damage equal to 20% of her ATK (up to 1800). This is a base damage increase, meaning its added onto the damage before any other % modifier.
Clorinde's Best Team Comps
Due to Clorinde's 1st Ascension passive, you want to be triggering Electro-based Reactions like Aggravate, Hyperbloom, Electro-Charged (Taser teams) and maybe Overload. There are some example team composition based around this below:
Clorinde's Aggravate comp
Main DPS | Dendro Enabler | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Clorinde |
Above is a pretty straight forward Aggravate team with a bit of a flexibility in the last slot. Sucrose and Kazuha are both great for shredding Elemental resistance with Viridescent Venerer and will also group up smaller targets. They are both interchangeable, although Kazuha tends to be preferred. Zhongli can also be used, if you prefer to have some more defensive power through his Shield. For Artifacts on Clorinde in this case, Thundering Fury does look better than Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy on paper. However, it depends on playstyle, the fight composition among other things.
Clorinde's Quickbloom comp
Main DPS | Dendro Enabler | Sub DPS | Hydro Enabler |
---|---|---|---|
Clorinde | Nahida | Fischl |
This team doesn't deviate too much from your normal Hyperbloom teams, Clorinde is just there to trigger Electro reactions and to trigger Yelan's Burst damage if you use her.
If you are not familiar with Hyperbloom, it is a triple Elemental Reaction, where you first apply Hydro to Dendro (or vice versa). This creates the Reaction Bloom, which leaves a green seed nearby. Triggering Electro near the seed with cause it to trigger Hyperbloom, which expends the seed to shoot a projectile at your target.
Clorinde's Overload comp
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Support | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Clorinde | Chevreuse | Thoma |
This team is solely built around Overload, which means that Chevreuse in this setup is mandatory. Her damage increases to Pyro and Electro damage are simply too large to skip. Outside of this, there is a bit of flexibility for the two other slots, although Thoma is nice to have for the interrupt resistance from his Shield. Between Fischl and Kujou Sara is a matter of preference. Kujou Sara is less damage when off-field, but gives Clorinde more ATK, while Fischl deals a lot of damage while off-field.

Listed below is each talent alongside the talents explanation of how they work.
Type | Talent Name | Skill Explanation |
---|---|---|

Plunging Attack Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact. |
Elemental Skill | Hunter's Vigil |
Preparing her pistolet, she enters the "Night Vigil" state, using steel and shot together. Clorinde's Constellations
Clorinde's Constellations are not essential to her playstyle, however they do add a lot of damage, especially her first constellation. Generally speaking, if you are going to roll for multiple copies or her weapon, roll for C1 first. It is more often a larger upgrade over replacing Finale of the Deep. Her C2 is also close to the same, so if you don't want to risk it, then rolling for C2 is also advisable. C3-5 are unfortunately lukewarm at best in terms of damage.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | "From This Day, I Pass the Candle's Shadow-Veil" | While Hunter's Vigil's Night Vigil state is active, when Electro DMG from Clorinde's Normal Attacks hit opponents, they will trigger 2 coordinated attack from a Nightwatch Shade summoned near the hit opponent, each dealing 30% of Clorinde's ATK as Electro DMG. This effect can occur once every 1s. DMG dealt this way is considered Normal Attack DMG. |
C2 | "Now, As We Face the Perils of the Long Night" |
The Passive Talent "Dark-Shattering Flame" will be buffed: After a nearby party member triggers a Electro-related reaction against an opponent, Electro DMG dealt by Normal Attacks and Last Lightfall will be increased by 30% of Clorinde's ATK for 15s. Max 3 buff stacks. Each stack is counted independently. When you have 3 stacks,Clorinde's interruption resistance will be increased. The Maximum DMG increase achievable through such attacks is 2,700. You must first unlock the Passive Talent "Dark-Shattering Flame." |
C3 | "I Pledge to Remember the Oath of Daylight" |
|
C4 | "To Enshrine Tears, Life, and Love" | When Last Lightfall deals DMG to opponent(s), DMG dealt is increased based on Clorinde's Bond of Life percentage. Every 1% of her current Bond of Life will increase Last Lightfall DMG by 2%. The maximum Last Lightfall DMG increase achievable this way is 200%. |
C5 | "Holding Dawn's Coming as My Votive" |
|
C6 | "And So Shall I Never Despair" |
For 12s after Hunter's Vigil is used, Clorinde's CRIT Rate will be increased by 10%, and her CRIT DMG by 70%. Additionally, while Night Vigil is active, a Glimbright Shade will appear under specific circumstances, decreasing DMG dealt to Clorinde by 80% for 1s and increasing her interruption resistance; it will also attack opponents, dealing 200% of Clorinde's ATK as Electro DMG. DMG dealt this way is considered Normal Attack DMG. The Glimbright Shade will appear under the following circumstances:
1 Glimbright Shade can be summoned in the aforementioned ways every Xs. 6 Shades can be summoned per single Night Vigil duration. |
