Dehya Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Dehya is a 5-star Pyro character who was released with some controversy in version 3.5 for being considered the weakest 5-star character ever launched. Since then Dehya has seen some minor changes, but her toolkit hasn't changed very much. What has changed is what team compositions she has access to, mainly Furina, that can properly augment her abilities and push her into becoming a strong on-field DPS driver.
Dehya Strengths and Weaknesses
- Great Damage Mitigation
- Can be played on or off-field
- Solid Brawler on-field
- Has self-sustain
- Must be paired with Furina
- Lack of damage at C0 compared to C6
- Despite her Damage Mitigation a healer is still required
- Insane Energy Recharge Requirement
Dehya Pyro Driver Build
Dehya really needs to have Elemental support from her teammates to shine. Essentially, we need to set the stage perfectly for Dehya to be able really showcase the power of her Elemental Burst, Leonine Bite. When setup correctly, Dehya can easily fill the role of a main DPS with the power to be an on-field driver for elemental reactions. As a final note, Dehya has an insane Energy Recharge requirement: 250% on a solo Pyro team, 225% on a double Pyro team, and 200% on a triple Pyro team. This is something you will want to keep in mind when you pair her with other team members.

Dehya's best weapon for a DPS role is her Beacon of the Reed Sea, this Claymore can help boost CRIT Rate and then adds a boost to ATK power and HP from its skill. This helps Dehya brawl on the battlefield for extended periods of time with the boosted HP, which plays well into her passive that heals her if she drops below 40%. The next best alternative is the Redhorn Stonethresher. This weapon is a solid choice as refinement is somewhat useless and it can be kept at Rank 1. It has a decent weapon skill which boosts Dehya's DEF and increases her normal/charged attacks by 40% of her DEF making this a great weapon. The next 4-star weapon, the The Bell, is another decent choice for fighting with her. Lastly, Update 5.0 has added a new option for skill-based Dehya builds with the addition of the Earth Shaker Claymore. This weapon increases her damage output potential by buffing her skill damage after any Pyro reaction occurs, whether she is on or off field. This ultimately offers a new style of playing Dehya with less reliance on her Elemental Burst.
As for her artifacts, Emblem of Severed Fate is a huge boost to her Elemental Burst's power, which is the majority of her DPS. Another option is the Vourukasha's Glow set which can work, but is not nearly as strong as Severed Fate. Lastly, we want to mention Marechaussee Hunter set as we can benefit from it while Dehya is on-field brawling, but with the lack of ER, to help her high ER requirement of over 200%, you might struggle maintaining her abilities in a quick rotation.
Combos and How to Play Dehya
Dehya has a couple of dynamics to her elemental abilities that are difficult to understand. Her Elemental Skill, Molten Inferno, has two charges to use on field that deal Pyro damage. You can use it once then again, to do some extra Pyro damage. However, one issue players have with this skill is that the Pyro damage can only happen once every two and half seconds, which is a big draw back for any kind of Pyro-spreading mechanic. This unfortunately rules out Dehya's Elemental Skill as your only source of Pyro for Elemental Reactions as the application is too slow. Besides that draw back, you do gain a good amount of Damage Reduction and the radius is massive, so it can help any active character inside of it that needs to perform charged attacks due to its buffed resistances.
Her Elemental Burst, Leonine Bite, is where most players get excited about her. This ability puts her into a state of fiery attacks, where she will punch straight ahead with fists of Pyro regardless of if you are attacking or not. This is a fantastic source of Pyro AoE damage and is an awesome driver for elemental reactions. She does attack faster as you click, so we can accelerate her rather than just wait for her auto attacks. Dehya does have one flaw within her Burst though, and that is jumping. If she jumps while her Elemental Burst is active it will cancel the entire skill, so be careful. Another useful component of her Elemental Burst is if you use it on top of any elemental skill, you will absorb it and gain some resistances. However, the biggest drawback of this Elemental Burst is the short duration of only 4 seconds.
Dehya's Best Team Comps
Dehya Overload Team
Support | Main DPS | Support | Sub DPS |
---|---|---|---|
Dehya | Arlecchino | Chevreuse | Fischl |
This team focuses on Dehya's ability to add support to her team, primarily by buffing Arlecchino's Normal Attacks with a heavy dose of Interruption Resistance. This can keep Arlecchino on the field fighting while she helps to drive Elemental Reactions with Fischl as her Electro partner. We then buff this combination of characters further by adding Chevreuse into the mix, taking advantage of her ability to buff both Pyro and Electro damage. A simple yet effective team.
Dehya Triple Pyro Team
Main DPS | Buffer | Sub DPS | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Dehya | Kaedehara Kazuha | Xiangling | Bennett |
This triple Pyro team is all about stacking buffs and Elemental abilities right on top of each other. Dehya does a great job brawling on this team and can be helped out with Bennett's limited healing. However, this team really shines on bossing, stacking buffs up around Dehya and then activating Pyronado, before swapping back to Dehya for her elemental burst.
Dehya Vaporize Team
Main DPS | Hydro Spreader | Dendro Spreader | Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Dehya | Xingqiu | Nahida | Kuki Shinobu |
This Vaporize team is all about Elemental Reactions. Xingqiu can add Hydro blades to the field, spreading his elemental all over, and then Kuki Shinobu can use her Electro buffs for Dehya to brawl with. Once Dehya has completed her first charge of her Elemental Skill, Nahida can step in and drop both of her Elemental Skills. Finally, with all of this elements moving around the field, Dehya can use her second charge of her Elemental Skill and her Elemental Burst to hit the enemies hard with some super strong Pyro reactions.
Dehya Mono DPS Team
Main DPS | Buffer | Sub DPS | Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Dehya | Sucrose | Furina | Bennett |
This mono DPS team uses Furina to really amp up Dehya's ability to Vaporize. First, we start with Dehya's Elemental Skill, Molten Inferno, then switch to Furina and use both of her abilities. Now, we swap back to Dehya for a second charge of her Elemental Skill, afterwards we bring in Sucrose to use both of her abilities. Finally, Bennett sets the stage for Dehya with his Fantastic Voyage. At this point, we bring Dehya back and use her Elemental Burst to clean house. This is a fast rotation with a lot of swaps, but works amazingly well.
Burning Team
Pyro Damage | Support | Dendro Damage | Healer |
---|---|---|---|
Dehya | Emilie | Kinich | Baizhu |
This is one of the smoothest teams to play with Dehya. This triple Dendro team uses Dehya's Pyro fields with an onslaught of Dendro damage to apply burning damage to all enemies. Kinich is our primary on-field character for damage, just be sure to stay inside the Pyro field at all times. Emilie's skillset is also enhanced against any burning enemies, amplifying her off-field damage output. There is no set rotation, but your goal is to simply maintain Dehya's Elemental Skill and Burst for your Pyro application while cycling through the rest of team's Elemental Burst abilities. Lastly, be sure to equip Deepwood Memories one of your characters to maintain debuffed resistances on the enemy.
Dehya's Ascensions, Talents, and Constellations

Dehya's Constellations
Dehya's target constellation is her C6. While her other constellations are alright to help her brawling abilities, it is her C6 that boost her Elemental Burst to new levels.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | The Flame Incandescent |
Dehya's Max HP is increased by 20%, and she deals bonus DMG based on her Max HP when using the following attacks:
|
C2 | The Sand-Blades Glittering | When Dehya uses Molten Inferno: Ranging Flame, the duration of the recreated Fiery Sanctum field will be increased by 6s. Additionally, when a Fiery Sanctum exists on the field, DMG dealt by its next coordinated attack will be increased by 50% when active character(s) within the Fiery Sanctum field are attacked. |
C3 | A Rage Swift as Fire |
|
C4 | An Oath Abiding | When Flame-Mane's Fist and Incineration Drive attacks unleashed during Leonine Bite hit opponents, they will restore 1.5 Energy for Dehya and 2.5% of her Max HP. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s. |
C5 | The Alpha Unleashed |
|
C6 | The Burning Claws Cleaving | The CRIT Rate of Leonine Bite is increased by 10%. Additionally, after a Flame-Mane's Fist attack hits an opponent and deals CRIT Hits during a single Blazing Lioness state, it will cause the CRIT DMG of Leonine Bite to increase by 15% for the rest of Blazing Lioness's duration and extend that duration by 0.5s. This effect can be triggered every 0.2s. The duration can be extended for a maximum of 2s and CRIT DMG can be increased by a maximum of 60% this way. |
