Ganyu Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority

  2. CRIT Rate
  3. ATK %
  4. Energy Recharge
Talent Priority
  1. Elemental Burst
  2. Normal Attack
  3. Elemental Skill

For this build, Ganyu's BiS weapon is the The First Great Magic. This is due to the fact it heavily buffs her charged attacks as well as the bow's stack mechanic which she can benefit from whether you play Ganyu with other Cryo characters or not.

When building Ganyu, you can combine The First Great Magic with the 4-piece Blizzard Strayer Artifact set which will boost both her ATK and CRIT Rate, allowing to aim more on CRIT DMG on the pieces themselves.

If you play Ganyu in a melt-focused team, you will want to use Wanderer's Troupe instead, as it will provide you with 80 Elemental Mastery and the 4-piece set constantly applies the buff to Charged Shots.

If you play Ganyu with Furina you can use Marechaussee Hunter.

Stat-wise, you want to aim for around 130% Energy Recharge if you want to be able to Burst every rotation. If you use Blizzard Strayer you only need around 50/60% CRIT Rate as the Artifact set will add a lot of CRIT Rate.

Ganyu Combos and How to Play

Ganyu is an extremely powerful Cryo DPS. Whether Ganyu is played in a Freeze, Melt, or Mono-Cryo, you will mostly use the same rotation. Place Ganyu's Elemntal Burst and use her Charged Attacks. Ganyu's Elemental Skill, Trail of the Qilin, is mainly used for energy generation and a taunt to keep her free to fire charged attacks at her enemies.

Overall, no matter what team Ganyu is a part of, she will always use her Elemental Burst, Celestial Shower, covering a huge AoE zone with it, and being able to trigger Elemental Reactions inside it through the help of her teammates, While she shoots down all the enemies with her powerful charged shots.

4.

Ganyu's Best Team Compositions

For this Build Ganyu will mainly be played as a Main DPS in Freeze, Melt, or Mono-Cryo.

4.1.

Ganyu Freeze Team

Main DPS Hydro Sub DPS Support
Ganyu Venti Shenhe
Ganyu Furina Venti Citlali
Ganyu Furina Kaedehara Kazuha Charlotte

Ganyu Freeze teams work around using a Hydro unit that can apply Hydro off-field, such as Furina, Mona, or even Sangonomiya Kokomi. Combined to a support such as Shenhe or a Shielder if you want a bit more protection since Ganyu is rather squishy.

You also want to use Venti or Kaedehara Kazuha for the RES shred, swirl, and packing small enemies. Venti is a particularly good option, as his Vortex can be used each rotation and he provides with good Energy Regeneration, as well as nicely grouping enemies together (if it's small enemies).

4.2.

Ganyu Mono Cryo Team

Main DPS Support Support Support
Ganyu Shenhe
Ganyu Shenhe

Ganyu can also work in a Mono-Cryo team. For this you will want to use Shenhe as she is the best Cryo support, with her RES Shred, Cryo DMG bonus, and Charged Attack DMG Bonus. Rosaria is another good option for Mono-Cryo teams as she has good particle generation, and she can also work as a Sub-DPS if needed, as she has good personal damage. For the last slot you can use any Cryo Shielder such as Layla or Citlali.

4.3.

Ganyu Melt Team

Main DPS Sub DPS Support Shielder
Ganyu Mavuika Bennett Citlali
Ganyu Xiangling Bennett Zhongli

Ganyu Melt teams require you play closer to the enemies than Freeze teams. This is why you will need at least one Shielder to give you additional protection, especially since Ganyu wants the interruption RES. Bennett is your most wanted teammate for a Ganyu melt team due to his ATK Buffs, healing and Pyro application. The last slot should be filled by any character that can apply Pyro off-field.

Ganyu's Talents

Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.

Type Talent Name Brief Explanation
Normal Normal Attack: Liutian Archery Performs up to 6 consecutive attacks with a bow. Charged attacks hit for Cryo DMG and have two levels of charge with different effects. Level 1 is a basic Cryo DMG shot, while Level 2 produces a Frostflake Arrow that deals AoE Cryo DMG. Ganyu's plunging attack deals AoE DMG upon impact with the ground.
Elemental Skill Trail of the Qilin Ganyu dashes backwards and deals AoE Cryo DMG that leaves behind an Ice Lotus. This Ice Lotus can taunt opponents for a set duration based on Ganyu's Max HP, once the Ice Lotus is destroyed or its duration is over the Lotus will explode for another round of AoE DMG Cryo .
Elemental Burst Celestial Shower Summons a Sacred Cryo Pearl that rains down shards of ice, striking opponents for high amounts of Cryo DMG in a large AoE ring.

Ganyu's Constellations

Ganyu works fine at C0, however, her C1 and C6 are her best constellations. Her C6 is really useful and increases her damage drastically, since it reduces the charge time of her charged shots. But since it does require a lot of investment, stopping at C1 is plenty enough, as it reduces enemies' Cryo RES and helps with energy recharge.

# Name Explanation
C1 Dew-Drinker
  • Taking DMG from a Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow or Frostflake Arrow Bloom decreases opponents' Cryo RES by 15% for 6s.
  • A hit regenerates two Energy for Ganyu. This effect can only occur once per Charge Level 2 Frostflake Arrow, regardless if Frostflake Arrow itself or its Bloom hit the target.
C2 The Auspicious Trail of the Qilin gains 1 additional charge.
C3 Cloud-Strider
  • Increases the Level of Celestial Shower by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4 Westward Sojourn
  • Opponents standing within the AoE of Celestial Shower take increased DMG. This effect strengthens over time.
  • Increased DMG taken begins at 5% and increases by 5% every 3s, up to a maximum of 25%.
  • The effect lingers for 3s after the opponent leaves the AoE.
C5 The Merciful
  • Increases the Level of Trail of the Qilin by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6 The Clement Using Trail of the Qilin causes the next Frostflake Arrow shot within 30s to not require charging.
