Types of cards

3.1.

Character Cards

Character Cards are based on characters and enemies in Genshin Impact. Character Cards based on playable characters are obtained by achieving victory in the Friendly Fracas difficulty of the Character Invitation duels. Character Cards based on enemies are obtained by achieving victory in the Friendly Fracas difficulty of Tavern Challenges.

All Character Cards have three types of Skills:

  1. Normal Attack
  2. Elemental Skill
  3. Elemental Burst

All Skills require the player to pay the relevant dice cost in order to use them. Elemental Bursts also require the Character Card to have the required amount of Energy, which is obtained by using Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills. This Energy is used up to cast the character's Elemental Burst.

Some Character Cards have multiple Normal Attacks or Elemental Skills. Some Character Cards also have Passive Skills, which are additional Skills that provide an additional effect for the Character Card. Unlike ordinary Skills, Passive Skills can not be casted, but are instead active at all times.

    2. Artifact Cards: Based on Artifacts
    3. Talent Cards: Based on Character Talents and Constellations

Gameplay

The game begins with the "Prepare to Duel" phase. Then, the game will cycle between the following phases until the end of the game:

  1. Roll Phase
  2. Action Phase
  3. End Phase

The game ends when all of a player's Character Cards are defeated. The player who defeats all of their opponent's Character Cards is declared as the winner.

4.1.

Prepare to Duel

Once the game begins, a coin will be flipped to decide which player goes first. Then, both sides will:

  1. Draw 5 cards.
  2. Switch out any number of cards in their hand.
  3. Choose 1 of their Character Cards to be the active character.
4.2.

Roll Phase

During the roll phase, both players will roll their own set of 8 Elemental Dice. After rolling once, players can then select any number of dice to roll again.

There are 8 different types of dice: Cryo, Hydro, Pyro, Electro, Anemo, Geo, Dendro, and Omni. The Omni Element can be used as any element.

4.3.

Action Phase

Both players will take turns to take action during the Action Phase, starting with the player who goes first. There are two types of actions:

  1. Combat Actions: After a player completes a Combat Action, their turn will end and the opposing player will get their turn to act.
  2. Fast Actions: After completing a Fast Action, players can continue performing actions and will not pass on their turn.

The Combat Actions that a player can perform are:

  • Use Skill: Pay the relevant cost and use the active character's Skill(s). Most Skills will only target the opponent's active character.
  • Switch Characters: Pay 1 Elemental Die to switch the active character.
  • Declare Round End: End the player's actions for this round. The first player to declare the end of their Round will go first during the next Round.

The Fast Actions that a player can perform are:

  • Play Action Card: Pay the relevant cost and play card(s) from the player's Hand.
  • Elemental Tuning: Discard a card from the player's Hand and change the Elemental Type of 1 Elemental Die of the player's choosing to that of the active character.
4.4.

End Phase

Once both players have declared the end of their rounds during the Action Phase, the game enters the End Phase. During this phase:

  1. Starting with the player who ended their Round first, settle the various card effects triggered by the End Phase.
  2. Both players draw 2 cards from their Draw Piles.

Then, the game enters the next Round's Roll Phase, repeating the cycle.

5.

Game Area

5.1.

Character Zone

This is where Character Cards are placed. At any point in time, each player must have one active character, which is denoted by the active character's Character Card being placed slightly more forward. The rest of the player's Character Cards are considered to be on standby.

5.2.

Attaching

Every Character Card can have the following attached to them. These attachments will be displayed on the Character Card, but can only be viewed in full detail upon clicking on the Character Card.

  1. Equipment Cards: Equipment Cards include Weapon, Artifact and Talent Equipment Cards. Each Character Card can only have a maximum of 1 Weapon, 1 Artifact and 1 Talent Equipment Card attached to it.
  2. Statuses: Certain Character Skills and Action Cards can attach Statuses to Character Cards. For example, using a Food Card on a Character Card will grant the latter the Satiated status, which prevents any more Food Cards from being used on them.
  3. Combat Statuses: Certain Character Skills and Action Cards can attach Combat Statuses to Character Cards. Contrary to Statuses, when the active character is switched out, Combat Statuses will be passed on to the new active character.
5.3.

Support Zone

This zone holds up to 4 Support Cards. If a player wishes to play a new Support Card when their Support Zone is already full, they must discard an existing Support Card of their choosing and replace it with the new Support Card. When calculating the effects of Support Cards, their effects will be calculated in chronological order of their placement.

5.4.

Summons Zone

This zone holds up to 4 Summons, which can be created by Characters' Skills or Action Cards. If a player's Support Zone is already full, they cannot create any more Summons. When calculating the effects of Support Cards, their effects will be calculated in chronological order of their summoning.

5.5.

Draw Pile

Before the game starts, all Action Cards in a player's deck will be shuffled to form the Draw Pile. When drawing cards, a player will draw Action Cards from the top of the Draw Pile to add to their Hand. If the Draw Pile is empty, then no new card can be drawn.

5.6.

Hand

All drawn cards will be stored in the player's Hand. A player's Hand can only hold up to 10 cards at a time. If any new cards are drawn while the Hand is full, those new cards will automatically be discarded.

6.
