Gorou Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority
Gorou's best build is as a support. He has a unique ability to buff his teammate's DEF and Geo DMG, making him the perfect support for Geo teams.

Gorou's best-in-slot weapon for this build is Favonius Warbow. Not only do you obtain a free Favonius Warbow when you complete the first Archon Quest, but it provides Gorou with Energy Recharge that is heavily needed on him. This weapon also allows Gorou as well to be a battery for his teammates. If for some reason you can not equip Favonius Warbow on your Gorou, any Bow with Energy Recharge as main stat will do the job, just know that their passives may be wasted on Gorou.
For this Gorou Build we recommend you use The Exile. While it is only a 4-star Artifact set, it provides energy recharge, making it a competitive option for Gorou. Noblesse Oblige is a good choice as well since it provides a team-wide buff, but the ATK on it may be wasted. We recommend you wear it on another teammate instead. You can also go for a 2-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams and 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate for more DEF % and Energy Recharge.
For this build, Gorou's energy recharge is important so we can always have his Elemental Burst available as soon as the cooldwon is over. Aim for at least 220% ER with Favonius Warbow, and more without it. You also need some CRIT Rate for the Favonius Warbow passive. After you reach the energy requirements, you will have to invest in a lot of Defense as Gorou's A Favor Repaid increases his Skill DMG based on his DEF. Additionally, if you have his C4 Lapping Hound: Warm as Water, the healing Gorou provides also scales on his DEF.
You do not have to invest in Gorou's Normal Attack, it is fully optional as you will not really need it.
Gorou Combos and How to Play
Gorou's Elemental Skill Inuzaka All-Round Defense is what makes him a specific Geo support. Depending on the number of other Geo characters in the team you can get the following buffs:
- 1 Geo Character - DEF Bonus
- 2 Geo Characters - Increases the resistance to interruption
- 3 Geo Characters - Increases Geo DMG Bonus
Of course if you have 3 Geo characters, you gain all three bonuses. Gorou counts as well, so you need at least two other Geo characters.
When Gorou uses his Elemental skill it puts a Banner on the ground, and you have to stand in the Banner's area with your active character to get the previously mentioned bonuses.
Gorou's Elemental Burst Juuga: Forward Unto Victory will spawn a small floating dog with an AoE zone which will follow the active character. This dog will periodically deal Geo DMG to opponents in it's AoE area. It also provides the same buffs and Gorou's skill.
You will want to use his Burst first when available, and his skill next. Note that when the burst is active, no banner is generated, but you still have the same bonuses from the burst.
Gorou's Best Team Comps
Gorou functions best with Geo teams due to his three bonuses. You will want to add at least two Geo characters to maximize Gorou's support abilities.
Gorou Mono Geo Teams
Main DPS | Support | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Arataki Itto | Gorou | Chiori | Xilonen |
Noelle | Gorou | Albedo | Zhongli |
This is the best team builds for Gorou who is the perfect support for Geo DPS such as Arataki Itto or Noelle. Chiori or Albedo are two good additional DPS for Geo teams with their off-field DMG. Zhongli and Xilonen are an additional support.
Main DPS | Support | Sub DPS | Sub DPS |
---|---|---|---|
Noelle | Gorou | Chiori | Furina |
You can choose to switch the fourth slot with a flex character from another element, as Gorou only requires 2 additional Geo character to maximize his buffs, allowing to add characters such as Furina which can also provide some buffs and additional DPS to the team.

Gorou's Constellations
Gorou's constellations are rather good as they offer him even more abilities to buff his teammates, on top of adding a bit of healing. However, it is a 4-star character, meaning you will most likely get his constellations with time, so we do not recommend you try to target-farm for them.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind | When characters (other than Gorou) within the AoE of Gorou's General's War Banner or General's Glory deal Geo DMG to opponents, the CD of Gorou's Inuzaka All-Round Defense is decreased by 2s. This effect can occur once every 10s. |
C2 | Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock | While General's Glory is in effect, its duration is extended by 1s when a nearby active character obtains an Elemental Shard from a Crystallize reaction. This effect can occur once every 0.1s. Max extension is 3s. |
C3 | Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire |
|
C4 | Lapping Hound: Warm as Water |
When General's Glory is in the "Impregnable" or "Crunch" states, it will also heal active characters within its AoE by 50% of Gorou's own DEF every 1.5s. |
C5 | Striking Hound: Thunderous Force |
|
C6 | Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty | For 12s after using Inuzaka All-Round Defense or Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, increases the CRIT DMG of all nearby party members' Geo DMG based on the buff level of the skill's field at the time of use:
