Keqing Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority

Keqing is a solid choice for an Electro on-field DPS and Aggravate DPS. Keqing can also be played as a Physical DPS, however, it is important to note that her Physical playstyle does lack behind the Electro one, so we recommend you go for an Electro DPS Keqing. We will still go over her Physical build in case you are interested nonetheless.

This is the Keqing build you will want to go for if you plan on playing Keqing in endgame content. This build functions for both normal Electro team compositions or Aggravate.

For the Electro Keqing build Mistsplitter Reforged is your best choice as it will provide Keqing with high CRIT DMG bonus as well as Normal Attack and Elemental DMG bonus. Primordial Jade Cutter is close behind, especially if you play Keqing in and Aggravate team.

In this Electro Keqing build the best Artifact set is Thundering Fury because Keqing can make good use of the 4-piece buff.

Physical DPS Keqing Build

A Physical Keqing build is possible, but it is extremely less viable long-term compared to an Electro Keqing build. A few things are different if you want to build a Physical Keqing.

For the Physical Keqing build Aquila Favonia is your best choice as it will provides with Physical DMG Bonus and increased Attack DMG.

For a Physical Keqing build the best Artifact set is the Pale Flame. Keqing can maintain full time the 4-piece bonus on this set.

Keqing Combos and How to Play

Keqing is not the easiest character to play, and has a specific rotation and playstyle depending on whether you play her as an Electro DPS or Physical DPS.

For Electro Keqing you want to follow this specific rotation:

  • Elemental Skill - Place the Stiletto
  • Elemental Burst
  • Reactivate the Stiletto
  • x1 Normal Attack
  • x1 Charged Attack
  • Repeat

Physical Keqing will have a slight alteration to her rotation and goes as follows:

Keqing is fantastic driver for Electro reactions and combines well with the majority of buffers in the character roster.

Aggravate teams are Keqing's best performing teams. The slots are rather flexible, but you need at least one other Electro character combined to one character with a good Dendro application such as Nahida. The last slot can be filled with characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha or Xilonen for the RES Shred, or a shielder such as Lan Yan.

Keqing of course also works in any other Electro composition, whether is is a mono-electro team, driver Keqing, or electro-charged. The teammates are rather flexible for those teams, just make sure to keep one Anemo like Kaedehara Kazuha in order to keep the RES Shred, and combined it with off-field elemental applicators.

Physical Keqing can work nicely with Cryo, especially if you freeze, since this means the enemies will be frozen in place while you damage them easily with Keqing.

Keqing's Ascension Passives and Materials

With Character Land's Overseer When dispatched on an expedition in Liyue, time consumed is reduced by 25%.
1st Ascension Thundering Penance After recasting Stellar Restoration while a Lightning Stiletto is present, Keqing's weapon gains an Electro Elemental Infusion for 5s.
4th Ascension Aristocratic Dignity When casting Starward Sword, Keqing's CRIT Rate is increased by 15%, and her Energy Recharge is increased by 15%. This effect lasts for 8s.

Keqing requires a range of materials to ascend to the 6th ascension. Starting from the second ascension she gains additional CRIT DMG as she gains levels, giving a total of 38.6% CRIT DMG at the final ascension. The total cost to upgrade all ascensions is:

Keqing's Talents

Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.

Normal Normal Attack: Yunlai Swordsmanship Standard Normal Attack dealing 5 rapid strikes. Charged Attack unleashes 2 rapid sword strikes. Plunging Attacks strike the ground below with an AoE Damage circle.
Elemental Skill Stellar Restoration Hurls a lightning Stiletto that deals Electro in a small AoE. If she uses her Skill again, she can teleport to the location of the Stiletto. If she does a Charged Attack around the Stiletto she will unleash series of thundering cuts dealing AoE Electro DMG. Holding the skill down allows you to target the location.
Elemental Burst Starward Sword Keqing unleashes her lightning ability to deal Electro DMG in an AoE. She follows it up with a series of Electro strikes to nearby enemies, rapidly hitting them simultaneously.

Keqing's Constellations

Almost all of Keqing's constellations are useful, but players are usually after her C6 to completely invest in her personal damage. However, Keqing being a Standard banner character, it is not recommended to specifically farm for her constellations. She will work fine at C0.

C1 Thundering Might Recasting Stellar Restoration while a Lightning Stiletto is present causes Keqing to deal 50% of her ATK as AoE Electro at the start point and terminus of her Blink.
C2 Keen Extraction When Keqing's Normal and Charged Attacks hit opponents affected by Electro, they have a 50% chance of producing an Elemental Particle. This effect can only occur once every 5s.
C3 Foreseen Reformation
  • Increases the Level of Starward Sword by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C4 Attunement For 10s after Keqing triggers an Electro-related Elemental Reaction, her ATK is increased by 25%.
C5 Beckoning Stars
  • Increases the Level of Stellar Restoration by 3.
  • Maximum upgrade level is 15.
C6 Tenacious Star When initiating a Normal Attack, a Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, Keqing gains a 6% Electro DMG Bonus for 8s. Effects triggered by Normal Attacks, Charged Attacks, Elemental Skills and Elemental Bursts are considered independent entities.
