Kirara Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Strengths

• Great on-field Dendro application.
• Remaining shield DMG absorption will stack on top of a new shield when created.
• Unique mobility from her Elemental Skill.

Weaknesses

• Only DMG buff she provides to the team comes from her C6.
• While good on-field application, Kirara severely lacks off-field Dendro application.

Key of Khaj-Nisut is Kirara's best weapon, helping to maximise her shield strength and also increasing Elemental Mastery for the party. Other good weapons include Sapwood Blade and The Dockhand's Assistant. Alternatively, Favonius Sword is an option to ease Energy Recharge requirements however Kirara does not have extremely high requirements that may force an Energy generating weapon unlike some characters.

Kirara's best artifact set can depend. Deepwood Memories is an incredibly useful artifact set for Dendro teams and someone in the team should wear it, ideally a support character. That being said, Kirara can not easily guarantee full uptime on Deepwood's effects.

Outside of that run either 2 Piece Vourukasha's Glow and Tenacity of the Millelith to maximise shield strength or you can use Instructor for the Elemental Mastery buffs.

With regards to substats, Kirara wants enough Energy Recharge to consistently burst and HP % for her shield strength. This will be around 150 - 170% if she is the only Dendro character, or around 120% if there are 2 Dendro characters.

Kirara's Elemental Skill Meow-teor Kick has different effects and gameplay benefits depending on if you press or hold the Skill.

• Press deals Dendro DMG in front of Kirara while generating a Shield called a "Shield of Safe Transport" based on her HP.
• Hold creates a Shield of Safe Transport and turns Kirara into a Urgent Neko Parcel which deals Dendro DMG to opponents when she collides with them. With Bewitching, Betwitching Tails (A1), the Parcel state will also create up to 3 additional shields.

Any Shield of Safe Transport generated can stack with the remaining DMG absorption of the current shield that she has.

Urgent Neko Parcel has a few limitations which may be worth keeping in mind. Kirara must be moving to actually deal DMG and apply Dendro and will also consume stamina faster while climbing. She also can not perform Plunging Attacks in this state. Kirara will automatically leave the Parcel state if she opens a wind glider or falls too fast.

Kirara is often played in Dendro teams such as Quicken, Hyperbloom and Bloom teams.

Alternatively, Kirara can also be played in more general teams where she simply focuses on shielding. Because she has low off-field Dendro application, she will rarely interfere in other Elemental Reactions.

Kirara can be a great teammate for Sethos with her shielding making Charged Attacks easier for Sethos. Characters such as Sucrose and Kaedehara Kazuha help massively with both crowd control and grouping for Charged Attacks.

In this Nilou-centric team, Kirara provides both shielding and Dendro application. That being said, she will not apply enough Dendro on her own. Characters such as Nahida and Alhaitham help to provide enough Dendro application. Sangonomiya Kokomi is the best supportive option due to having great Hydro application as well as powerful healing to support the Bloom reaction damage. Barbara can be used in a more budget situation or Xingqiu who has increased Hydro application but much weaker defensive utility.

Kirara often pairs well with DPS such as Tighnari and Keqing who adopt a more quickswap-style gameplay due to Kirara's 12s cooldown on her shielding. The first example focusing more on Aggravate while the second team instead focuses more on Spread.

Hyperbloom team compositions can be great for Kirara. That being said, she does not provide enough Dendro application on her own and therefore requires another Dendro character to assist with Elemental reactions. Characters such as Alhaitham or an on-field Nahida help with this. Kuki Shinobu is generally the best Electro character for Hyperbloom reactions although the healing may not be needed. This allows you to run Raiden Shogun in this team and Kuki in a different team.
