Klee Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Klee is a 5-star Pyro Catalyst character that packs an explosive punch. She is a Pyro DPS on-fielder who can quickly off-load her damage using her Elemental Skill and Burst to unleash bombs all over the enemy.
Klee Strengths and Weaknesses
- Constant flow of DPS
- Great movement and quick animations
- Simple playstyle
- Can Stunlock enemies with charge attacks
- Klee is squishy
- Limited Team combinations
- Bennett is essential to Klee's full potential
- Stronger Pyro Main DPS options exist
Klee Main DPS
Klee's primary role is hurling bombs at enemies and expending both of her elemental abilities in secession. She tends to be best suited for Mono-Pyro teams, weaving her normal and charged attacks together to perform constant DPS against opponents rather than extreme bursts. Klee's biggest challenge is she tends to be quite weak in reaction teams and she doesn't really perform well with Vaporize or Melt reactions due to how her skills work. The best reaction team for Klee is where she is the driver of the reaction, primarily around Electro as a Main DPS.

For Klee's weapon selection, we have chosen the Kagura's Verity as her primary weapon choice. This is due to the stacking elemental damage buff that occurs every time you use an Elemental Skill. With Klee we have the advantage of having two charges on her Elemental Skill and a decent recharge rate, this allows use to quickly get to the maximum damage bonus for Klee. As for her alternative choices, each have their own advantages but are not nearly as powerful as our top choice.
Klee is built to be on the field fighting on the frontlines, focusing on high CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG while having support from other off-field characters like Bennett, Fischl or Kuki Shinobu. Outside of her 4-piece Artifacts set, she can find some good boosts from 2-piece bonuses to push her ATK progressively higher. Typically, with Klee as your Main DPS, you will want some form of healing support through food or an off-healer, but she is quite quick with her dashes and small so you can avoid getting hit most of the time. Be warned though, Klee does not have a high Health pool and a misposition can end her life in an instant.
Combos and How to Play Klee
Klee works best as a Main DPS on Mono-Pyro teams or with a Hydro/Electro off-fielder to produce Amped reactions that can boost her personal damage. One key to her playstyle is using your charges of Jumpy Dumpty properly while weaving in your normal and charged attacks. Typically, you are going to want to use your first charge to hit the enemy and trigger a Pyro state on them. This will provide a surge of particles for the rest of your team to charge up their skills. Now use your team to setup up your reactions; Hydro, Anemo, and Electro interact best with her bombs. Once those Elemental Skills and Bursts are unloaded on to the battlefield, we swap back to Klee.
This second phase is Klee's damage window where you can unleash your Elemental Burst, Sparks 'n' Splash. Now its time to throw bombs again which, depending on your Elemental Recharge, you may even have two charges. If you can use both Jumpy Dumpty charges, one after another, you will get several bounce explosions: 16 mines and 5 burst lasers. While this is not the massive 'nuke' that we see from some other Pyro mains, her total damage output is still similar when you add up all of her attacks. Unfortunately, this rotation does not come without risk; Klee is much more squishy than the majority of characters.
While Klee is not considered a hard carry, like some of the other Gacha Pyro Mains, she can still be very effective within the right team. Overall, Klee does have a high skill cap and can be challenging to play, but in the hands of skilled player she can certainly hold her own as a Main DPS. On a final note about Klee, you should be targeting around 200% for her Energy Recharge.
Klee's Best Team Comps
Klee is somewhat limited for team composition, mainly focusing on Mono-Pyro teams, but she does have some uncommon combinations that can be made into successful teams. However, with every team that is built around Klee, there seems to always be a flaw or a short coming to some degree. With that being said, we have chosen our team build based upon character availability (4 stars vs 5 stars), overall damage potential and best conditions for Klee to shine.
Klee Pyro Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS off-fielder | Sub DPS off-fielder | Pyro buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Kaedehara Kazuha | Xilonen | Bennett |
This team has a very simple setup: Kaedehara Kazuha needs to wear Viridescent Venerer to shred enemies resistances against Pyro. We will also be adding more resistance shred from Xilonen's samplers, additionally she adds a decent single target heal for the team. We also have Bennett's Fantastic Voyage to create a field of damage boosting and healing, all in a quick off-field swap. These three buffers allow Klee to not only have increased survivability, but boost her damage output through shredding resistances and damage buffs.
Klee Burgeon Cores
Main DPS | Sub DPS - Hyrdo | Sub DPS - Dendro | EM buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Xingqiu | Nahida | Sucrose |
This Burgeon team is all about adding to Klee's explosive potential by using Dendro cores. These cores are created between Dendro and Hydro reacting to one another. Our best choice here is playing Nahida as a secondary Main DPS and Xingqiu as quick off-fielder for Hydro spreading. Once these two combine their elements, you will see cores being created all over the battlefield. Pop Sucrose out onto the field for a quick Elemental Mastery buff and Swirl , then send Klee in to blow them up! Her elemental Skill, Jumpy Dumpty, causes a chain reaction to occur detonating all of her mines and the Dendro cores all at once for huge damage.
Klee Overload Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Pyro Buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Fischl | Beidou | Bennett |
This Overload team offers some much needed survivability for Klee, with Bennett's healing and Beidou's Damage Reduction from their Burst abilities. Klee's attacks have a high stagger chance which works well with Overload, locking enemies out of their attacks as they are shocked in place. We use a double Electro component, Fischl and Beidou, to keep the battlefield electrified while Klee keeps bombing the map with Pyro. This interaction works well with Bennett's Fantastic Voyage skill, creating an inspiration field for Klee to power up in. One of the only issues with this build is to make sure you have enough Energy Recharge on your characters to be able to flow between their skills easily.
Overall, there many other teams that Klee can be apart of and the elemental reactions you can make are incredible to watch. She is truly da'bomb, and she proves that with her amazing versatility.
Klee's Ascensions, Talents, and Constellations
Klee Ascension Passives and Materials

Klee's Constellations
Explosive Frags (C2) is probably the best constellation to get due to the ability to decrease your opponents DEF, this applies to every enemy including bosses.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | Chained Reactions | Attacks and Skills have a certain chance to summon sparks that bombard opponents, dealing DMG equal to 120% of Sparks 'n' Splash's DMG. |
C2 | Explosive Frags | Being hit by Jumpy Dumpty mines decreases opponents' DEF by 23% for 10s. |
C3 | Exquisite Compound |
|
C4 | Sparkly Explosion | If Klee leaves the field during the duration of Sparks 'n' Splash, her departure triggers an explosion that deals 555% of her ATK as AoE Pyro DMG. |
C5 | Nova Burst |
|
C6 | Blazing Delight | While under the effects of Sparks 'n' Splash, Klee will regenerate three Energy for all members of the party (excluding Klee) every 3 seconds. When Sparks 'n' Splash is used, all party members will gain a 10% Pyro DMG Bonus for 25s. |
