Nahida Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Nahida is the Dendro archon of Sumeru and a 5-star Catalyst user in Genshin Impact. She functions as both an on-field and off-field Dendro applicator as well as an Elemental Mastery buffer. This guide will focus on Nahida's best builds, artifacts, weapons and best team compositions.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Extremely powerful Dendro application both on-field and off-field
- Provides large Elemental Mastery bonuses to the party
- Low Elemental Burst cooldown and Energy costs
- Incredibly powerful C2 and C6
- Low HP and Defense meaning damage can be more impactful
- Elemental Skill's aim mode can be more difficult to use on Mobile and Console
Off Field Nahida Build
Nahida is best played off-field, swapping in often to apply her Elemental Skill and then swapping to other characters such as a DPS that can create further reactions with Dendro using her passive to share her Elemental Mastery with the party.

Obtaining as close to 1,000 Elemental Mastery as possible (after other party buffs) is incredibly important to maximise both of your Ascension passives, Compassion Illuminated and Awakening Elucidated. While you can still benefit from more than 1,000 Elemental Mastery, the damage increases start to fall off and CRIT becomes better.
Nahida's best artifact set depends on who is in the team. Gilded Dreams is Nahida's best artifact option with its Elemental Mastery boosting effects. But the Dendro RES from Deepwood Memories is more important overall. This means you want Deepwood on another character such as Dendro Traveler. If no one can wear Deepwood, than Nahida should.
This generally means you want a weapon with Elemental Mastery and depending on your artifact substat RNG you will need a Goblet and Circlet that give Elemental Mastery. Ideally when possible start by replacing the Goblet first and then the Circlet.
On Field Nahida Build
Due to her strong Elemental application, Nahida is easily played as the only Dendro character for any Dendro-related reaction such as Hyperbloom and Burgeon. As a Catalyst user, Nahida is able to apply Dendro with each attack making her useful on-field and her Elemental Skill can trigger with her Normal Attacks to increase your damage.

When on-field, the majority of Nahida's personal damage comes from her Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know, and subsequent reactions. The main reaction Nahida triggers is Spread, this scales off of Elemental Damage and CRIT DMG, not Elemental Mastery, hence the shift in stat priorities compared to off-field.
As mentioned on the other build, wear Deepwood Memories is Nahida's best set if no one else is wearing this set. Otherwise if another character can, Gilded Dreams is her best set.
Combos and How to Play Nahida
You often want to start with her Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know, to tether as many enemies as possible so that subsequent reactions can deal more damage using Tri-Karma Purification (from Seed of Skandha). Tri-Karma does have a limit of up to 8 characters at a single time, however.
Apply your Elemental Burst and start swapping to the other members of your party who will now be buffed due to the burst. Periodically swap back to Nahida to reuse All Schemes to Know again either for new waves of enemies or due to its powerful Dendro application to maintain any ongoing reactions.
Using Illusory Heart is a huge buff to your team, dealing increased damage from All Schemes to Know as well as buffing the entire parties Elemental Mastery up to a maximum of 250.
Out of Combat Gameplay
Nahida has 2 very unique gameplay benefits that take place outside of combat surrounding All Schemes to Know.
Nahida can collect up to 4 nearby items from the open world at a time using her Elemental Skill such as berries and flowers. This does not work for animals/collectables that move such as Scarabs in the desert.
Nahida can also use her Elemental Skill on NPCs in Sumeru to read their thoughts and gain additional dialogue. This is mainly for normal NPCs out in the world but at times can be used on other playable characters for example during an event.
Nahida's Best Team Comps
Nahida's best team comps all revolve around Dendro's reactions, that being Quicken, Bloom, Burgeon and Hyperbloom. Dendro is an incredibly powerful element arguably the best in the game and having Nahida helps massively.
Nahida Hyperbloom Teams
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Nahida | Zhongli | ||
Alhaitham | Nahida | Kuki Shinobu |
Hyperbloom almost always wants you to pair Nahida with either Raiden Shogun or Kuki Shinobu, both are beneficial to be able to trigger Hyperbloom. The Electro character always wants to be built with Elemental Mastery, which makes Kuki Shinobu a better choice. Raiden Shogun works with other team compositions which would require you to build 2 sets of Artifacts to also allow her to work in Hyperbloom.
Nilou Bloom Team
Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Nahida | Nilou | Sangonomiya Kokomi | |
Nahida | Nilou | Furina | Baizhu |
Nahida has amazing synergy with Nilou being able to proc her bountiful cores incredibly fast. So fast that you may need to be careful with the damage that Dendro cores deal back to you. This team does not really have much of a Main DPS with all 4 characters contributing to either Hydro or Dendro and bringing their own benefits. This can lead to varying damage numbers as no specific character is the cause of the blooms.
Furina can be a great addition to this team with her Fanfare stacks and pairs really well with Kokomi and Baizhu.
Nahida Cyno Quickbloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Cyno | Nahida | Furina | Baizhu |
Cyno |
Nahida is perfect for Quickbloom as a Sub DPS allowing Electro characters to deal high damage. Cyno's best variant of this team includes Nahida, Furina and Baizhu. The teams abilities line up smoothly with Cyno's Elemental burst.
Nahida Burgeon Team
Main DPS | Pyro Reaction | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Nahida | Thoma | Yelan | Sangonomiya Kokomi |
Nahida is great for creating Dendro Cores and helping to set up Burgeon in Burgeon teams. Compositions generally want 2 Hydro and 1 Pyro to maintain an effective balance of elements. Pyro will then always reacts with the Cores and not Hydro which could cause Vaporize reactions instead. Thoma shines in Burgeon when built with Elemental Mastery due to how effectively he can trigger Burgeon.

Nahida's Constellations
Nahida's best Constellation by far is her C2 The Root of All Fullness and is arguably one of the best in the game. It offers huge damage increases and even a gameplay mechanic otherwise unavailable. This being the ability to CRIT Burning, Bloom, Hyperbloom and Burgeon damage which otherwise is impossible to CRIT. The defense decrease is also a helpful damage increase.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | The Seed of Stored Knowledge | When you use your Elemental Burst, it gains 1 of each of the Pyro, Electro and Hydro benefits immediately. It still caps at 2. |
C2 | The Root of All Fullness |
|
C3 | The Shoot of Conscious Attainment |
|
C4 | The Stem of Manifest Inference | When 1/2/3/(4 or more) nearby opponents are affected by All Schemes to Know's Seeds of Skandha, Nahida's Elemental Mastery will be increased by 100/120/140/160. |
C5 | The Leaves of Enlightening Speech |
|
C6 | The Fruit of Reason's Culmination | When enemies are marked by your Elemental Skill and your Burst is active, attacks from Nahida deal massive damage up to 6 times. This also generates energy. |
