Razor is a 4-star Electro character armed with a claymore in Genshin Impact. He focuses on brawling with physical damage attacks, with added Electro damage from his abilities. While paired with off-field supports to add elemental reactions to his capabilities, his damage is quite impressive. Razor is one of the best users of Superconduct, adding to his damage output with Electro focused reactions.

- High energy recharge.
- Can be built into Electro Damage.

Wolf's Gravestone and Song of Broken Pines are great choices for a 5-star weapon for Razor, and they are extremely close in what they offer us. The Wolf's Gravestone can grant a massive boost in ATK power whenever you strike a enemy with low health (below 30%), but the downside is that this ability has a cooldown. The attack buff only lasts for 12 seconds with no way to increase it. It can only occur once every 30s, this means we have a dead period in between triggers where you will have no buff.
The Song of Broken Pines offers a weaker flat attack bonus but is permanently applied while using the weapon. The skill triggers through normal and charged attacks, by applying a sigil for every strike. Once you gain 4 sigils you will activate a party wide buff for an ATK SPD and an ATK % buff for 12 seconds. This can occur once every 20 seconds. Overall, both weapons suffer from the drawback of a dead period between buffs, but the strength of the each makes up for this small drawback.
The top F2P weapon, the 4-star Serpent Spine claymore is a great addition to have, with its bonus CRIT Rate on the base weapon and a stacking buff to overall damage every four seconds. However, as you gain stacks of damage increases, your character will also gain stacks of damage received along side it. Basically, making you do more damage, but also making you more vulnerable as you stack the buff. This effect can be nullified by having a shielder in your party or a solid back up healer to heal any extra damage Razor may take.
Lastly, most of Razors equipment offers boost to his overall Physical and Attack DMG. These artifacts can be split into groups of 2 or full sets, but you are mainly looking to use which sub stats are the best. However, if you choose to use the Thundersoother set, you will want to put more emphasis on Energy Recharge (target 80-100%) so you can keep his Electro DMG up at all times.
Combos and How to Play Razor
Razor is the definition of a Main DPS. He stakes his claim as an on-field fighter with off-field supports jumping in and out of the battle to augment his abilities. First, lets talk about his Normal Attack which will be used as his primary attack since we save his Electro powers for the right opportunities. Razor's normal attack combination is fairly straight forward, 3 hits for when you do not have your Elemental Burst Lightning Fang and use a 4 hit combo for when you do have the ability triggered. Otherwise, Razor is a straight forward play style that focuses on positional gameplay to maximize the use of his claymore for big AoE attacks.
His abilities are quite powerful when you at the right time. Razor's Elemental Skill, Claw and Thunder, can be performed by tapping the key to initiate a simple dash forward with an Electro attack or holding the key down to perform a AoE slam attack of Electro DMG. Each version gains Electro Sigils that be used with his Burst ability, Lightning Fang, with 3 Sigils from tapping the skill and 5 Sigils from holding the skill. The Sigils get absorbed by Lightning Fang for more SPD and DMG during his burst ability.
Razor's Best Team Comps
Razor is an on-field DPS with excellent attack power and mediocre survivability. So we will be targeting off-fielders and support characters that can offer elemental reactions for his Electro abilities to trigger, Damage buffers to keep Razor's DPS high, and finally healers or shielders to keep him on the field despite taking any damage.
Razor Main DPS
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Razor | Xingqiu | Fischl | Diona |
This is a great mix of elemental reactions, shielding and some limited healing. Razor and Fischl's Nightrider provide some excellent synergy on the battlefield and with Xingqiu's Hydro element used in combination with Diona's Icy Paws to freeze enemies. With this combination on the field, we can trigger Superconduct with Razor's Electro skills. Overall, this is a very simple style to play keeping Fischl's Oz out on the field with Razor and using Xingqiu/Diona combos to freeze. There should be no need for any battery and Razor will be the primary on-field character with Diona's shields to support him fighting.
Razor Hypercarry
Main DPS | Support | Support | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Razor | Kujou Sara | Bennett | Xilonen |
This Hypercarry team focuses on a triple damage buff for Razor and a powerful resistance shred from Xilonen's samplers. With double healers, Bennett and Xilonen, Razor can keep fighting without worrying too much about damage. In this build, we want to focus Razor on Electro damage through his gear selection and decent ER to keep his skills rotating quickly. We will also be stacking more damage with Kujou Sara's Subjugation: Koukou Sendou, Bennett's Fantastic Voyage and Xilonen's abilities. These buffs will boost Razor's ATK damage through the roof, while making quick character switches to keep energy going and allow for Elemental Reactions.
Razor Hyperbloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Razor | Nahida | Xingqiu | Baizhu |
This Hyperbloom team focuses less on Razor's Physical DMG and more on Elemental Mastery and CRIT stats for triggering Hyperbloom. This can alter our choices for Artifacts and sub stats, focusing more on Elemental Mastery with artifacts such as Gilded Dreams or Flower of Paradise Lost. If you choose to play this build, it will take some patience and dedication to get use to playing around with Dendro cores(made from Bloom reactions) and triggering them with Electro. When you trigger Hyperbloom, they become homing missiles, chasing down the enemies and exploding. This style of game play is very rewarding once you understand how the build needs to be played and can cycle your elemental attacks in the correct order.
