Sangonomiya Kokomi Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Sangonomiya Kokomi is a 5-star Hydro Healer in Genshin Impact who primarily focuses on Healing the party while also having incredibly powerful Hydro application. This guide will focus on Kokomi's best builds, artifacts, weapons and best team compositions.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Incredibly powerful healing for both single-target and AoE healing.
- Great Hydro application.
- Decent damage output for a healer while being able to heal the party at the same time.
- Starts with -100% CRIT Rate.
- High Energy Costs.
- Uses multiple competitive builds all with different artifact sets.
Support Healer Kokomi Build
Kokomi's classic build is that of a healer, primarily focusing on stats which boost your healing to ensure your team stays alive. Thanks to her incredible Hydro application however, she also effectively support reaction teams such as Freeze teams.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is a really good weapon for Kokomi due to the damage buff it provides for the entire party. Sacrificial Fragments is an interesting weapon and can allow you to refresh your Elemental Skill Kurage's Oath without having to use Nereid's Ascension giving you guaranteed uptime while removing any energy issues.
Tenacity of the Millelith and Ocean-Hued Clam are both incredibly similar artifact sets in terms of how good they are for Kokomi. With Tenacity of the Millelith providing a damage buff to further increase your teams damage while Ocean-Hued Clam instead provides personal damage when healing. Ocean-Hued Clam is better if you plan to stay on field and attack while using Nereid's Ascension.
Bloom DPS Kokomi Build
In Bloom teams, Kokomi is often the main trigger for a lot of reactions and therefore wants different artifact sets as well as having different stat priorities which instead focus on increasing the damage of Bloom reactions.

As a Bloom DPS, Kokomi will be triggering a large majority of the bloom reactions and subsequently needs a lot of Elemental Mastery to increase that damage. This is why weapons such as A Thousand Floating Dreams and Sacrificial Fragments are great options for her.
Due to the focus on Bloom reactions with this build, Flower of Paradise Lost is a great artifact set for Kokomi as it increases reaction damage. Gilded Dreams is another solid option.
DPS Kokomi Build
On top of the other 2 builds, Kokomi can also be played as an on-field DPS. While previously a more Niche option, it can now be quite powerful with the release of Furina which has enabled Mono Hydro team compositions.

As a DPS, this build will focus to increase her on-field damage during her Elemental Burst, Nereid's Ascension, which increases Kokomi's damage based on her max HP. Because of this her signature weapon Everlasting Moonglow is her best weapon.
Ocean-Hued Clam is her best artifact set due to it also being able to increase your teams damage through healing. Heart of Depth would be Kokomi's second best option though.
Combos and How to Play Kokomi
Kokomi's playstyle mainly involves her Bake-Kurage summoned using Kurage's Oath to apply Hydro for reactions and heal the party. This has incredibly powerful Hydro application due to having no internal cooldown. The duration of Bake-Kurage can also be extended when using Nereid's Ascension allowing for constant uptime.
When playing as a DPS, it is more damage to do your Normal Attack, Normal Attack: The Shape of Water twice (or 3 times at C1) and then dash cancel the animation to be able to attack again.
Kokomi's Best Team Comps
As an extremely powerful healer, Kokomi can be used in a very wide range of team compositions. On top of simply being a healer, Kokomi can be played in reaction-based comps to also increase their damage.
Kokomi Freeze Teams
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Support | Anemo CC |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Shenhe | Sangonomiya Kokomi |
In Freeze teams, Kokomi provides impressive AoE Hydro application so that Cryo characters such as Kamisato Ayaka can consistently maintain Freeze. Anemo characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha and Venti can help support the team by providing off-field damage and crowd control as well as the benefits of the Viridescent Venerer artifact set.
Kokomi Hyperbloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Nahida | Yelan | Kuki Shinobu | Sangonomiya Kokomi |
In Hyperbloom team compositions, Kokomi can apply Hydro to Dendro so that an Electro character such as Kuki Shinobu or Raiden Shogun can trigger Hyperbloom reactions to deal massive damage.
Nilou Bloom Team
Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS |
---|---|---|---|
Nilou | Nahida | Dendro Traveler | Sangonomiya Kokomi |
Kokomi has great synergy with Nilou providing powerful healing to keep your party alive during Bloom damage. Your Bake-Kurage will apply a large portion of the Hydro damage however you may need to use Kokomi to apply additional Hydro occasionally.
Because Kokomi will be triggering a lot of the Bloom reactions, it is advised to equip her with Flower of Paradise Lost with a focus on Elemental Mastery.
Mono Hydro Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Sangonomiya Kokomi | Furina | Yelan | Kaedehara Kazuha |
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS |
Sangonomiya Kokomi | Furina | Yelan | Xingqiu |
While previously viable, Furina helps to make Mono-Hydro a powerful team composition. In this team, Kokomi plays the role of the main on-field damage dealer while Furina, Xingqiu and Yelan all provide powerful off-field damage. Additionally, Mono Hydro teams benefit from Hydro Resonance as well as low Energy Requirements due to everyone sharing the same Element.

Kokomi's Constellations
Kokomis best Constellation for many would be At Water's Edge (C1) because alongside increased damage it also increases your Hydro application.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | At Water's Edge | A great boost to Kokomis damage and the additional damage bonus from the fish has no ICD meaning it allows you to apply more Hydro. |
C2 | The Clouds Like Waves Rippling | This constellation is often useless because your party will have over 50% HP which is required for the constellation to activate. It can have minor applications with Fontaine characters who benefit from their HP being lower. |
C3 | The Moon, A Ship O'er the Seas |
|
C4 | The Moon Overlooks the Waters | A great Constellation increasing damage and even providing additional energy during Nereid's Ascension. |
C5 | All Streams Flow to the Sea |
|
C6 | Sango Isshin | Provides a large damage bonus during your Elemental Burst when heals occur making it very easy to proc. |
