Version 7.0 Genshin Impact Tier List and Best Character Rankings
Welcome to our comprehensive Genshin Impact Tier List, where we break down the best characters to help you conquer Teyvat's toughest challenges. Whether you're assembling a powerful team for Spiral Abyss or just exploring the world, this guide will rank each character based on their performance in various roles, including Main DPS, Sub DPS and support.
Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Tier List
Our Tier List for Genshin Impact Version 7.0 organises characters into 3 roles. A Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support.
Some characters rank in our Tier List multiple times where they can fit multiple roles, for example Raiden Shogun who can be a Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support. Many support characters do have the ability to provide off-field damage or apply an element however if there is a significant difference then they have been omitted.
Tier lists can be great for showing a rough estimate of a character's performance relative to other characters in their role. Please know that every character in Genshin Impact is viable regardless of their ranking and can clear all content with enough investment. Make sure to pick the character you like and want over the character that performs better!
Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Tier List Changes and Additions
Below are the most recent changes to our tier list which is the changes in patch 7.0 which focuses on the release of Cryo Traveler, Odette and Alyosha.
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Odette |
Odette is a new 5-star Cryo Support character who enables both Stellar Reactions while also dealing a decent amount of damage herself. She is already a strong option for Stellar DPS characters such as Sandrone, Cyno, Wriothesley and Yumemizuki Mizuki, helping some older DPS units become much more powerful and competitive. She is also expected to be a valuable support for future DPS characters that can benefit from Stellar Reactions. |
| Cryo Traveler |
Cryo Traveler is another strong character who can be used as an on-field DPS in Stellar-Conduct teams or as an off-field character in Stellar-Swirl teams. As a free character, they can enable both Stellar-Swirl and Stellar-Conduct reactions, making them a useful option for players building Stellar teams. In Snezhnaya, Cryo Traveler can also obtain the very powerful tailor-made 5-Star Sword Exaiphanes Blade. |
| Alyosha |
Alyosha is a 4-Star Support character who provides strong off-field Electro application through their Burst, while also offering both ATK and EM buffs. This allows them to provide value outside of Stellar-Conduct teams as well. However, as a newer 4-Star character, they may be more likely to be powercrept over time. Since they have only recently been released, it may also be difficult for most players to obtain C6, which is their strongest Constellation. |
| Wriothesley Cyno Sandrone Yumemizuki Mizuki |
Stellar DPS characters such as Cyno, Wriothesley, Yumemizuki Mizuki and Sandrone are becoming increasingly powerful with the release of Snezhnaya. While Sandrone is currently considered the strongest DPS, Cyno, Wriothesley and Mizuki are still great options, especially for players who already have them. However, these characters do currently compete for some of the same teammates, which can make team building more difficult. |
| General Tier List Adjustments |
With the release of Version 7.0, we've made several major adjustments, with the primary focus being on Main DPS characters. Throughout Version 6.X, powercreep has become much more noticeable, with the gap between newer and older DPS characters continuing to grow. While some characters have received buffs that allow them to benefit from new reactions and regain their place, many favourite characters still need further improvements to help them compete with newer releases. |
Tier List Explanations and Ranking Criteria
Our Tier List for Genshin Impact groups characters as either a Main DPS, Sub DPS or a support.
- Main DPS: A character who spends the majority of their time on-field in the team to deal massive damage.
- Sub DPS: Characters that have good elemental application to create Elemental Reactions for the team or deal high amounts of damage while off-field.
- Support: Healers, Shielders and buffers. These characters may also deal some damage while off-field but their value lies in the supportive utility they give the party.
Characters are then ranked in their respective role based on D to S+ rankings based on their damage, ease of play, elemental application, buffs they provide to the team and how widely used they are.
Characters in the same tier are simply in alphabetical order and generally speaking it is pointless to compare characters in the same tier due to them rarely overlapping directly in roles and having different elements that allow them to be more or less suitable based on the fight.
