Genshin Impact 5.5 Tier List
Our Tier List for Genshin Impact organises characters into 3 roles. A Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support. Click their icons to open a characters build guide!
Some characters rank in our Tier List multiple times where they can fit multiple roles, for example Raiden Shogun who can be a Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support. Many support characters do have the ability to provide off-field damage or apply an element however if there is a significant difference then they have been omitted.

Tier lists can be great for showing a rough estimate of a character's performance relative to other characters in their role. Please know that every character in Genshin Impact is viable regardless of their ranking and can clear all content with enough investment. Make sure to pick the character you like and want over the character that performs better!
Genshin Impact 5.4 Tier List Changes and Additions
Below are the most recent changes to our tier list which is the changes in patch 5.4 which focuses on the release of Yumemizuki Mizuki. Our Tier List for Genshin Impact also includes some adjustments for Citlali. Make sure to check back later throughout patch 5.4 of Genshin for any further changes as the meta evolves.

| Yumemizuki Mizuki | Yumemizuki Mizuki is a standard banner character and honestly, thats all that needs to be said. Mizuki is often best compared to Sucrose when played as an on-field Driver but simply comparing the newly released 5-Star to a single aspect of a 4-Star released at the start of the game does not pain the best picture. Especially when Mizuki tends to lose that comparison. Mizuki is limited in team compositions as a result of being unable to do nothing while in her Dreamdrifter state which locks her out of key supports while also having less grouping and less flexibility in terms of playstyle and rotations compared to Sucrose. What Mizuki does bring however is the ability to self sustain which grants synergy with Furina. Mizuki is also much less technically demanding than Sucrose while also being a great character to use in Co-Op. That being said, there is nothing stopping Mizuki from being stronger however in the future with more dedicated supports or artifact sets. Anemo characters in general have been wanting a new artifact set for years while more niche team styles have been given love recently by the developers. |
| Citlali | While many people expected Citlali to be strong, many did not expect her to be as powerful as she is. Citlali has been able to raise the damage ceiling on what many Pyro and Hydro DPS can do. |
| Patch 5.4 General | Patch 5.4 does not provide much of anything worth note to warrant making other adjustments to the rest of the tier list at the moment. Patch 5.5 is expected to release a long awaited new artifact set which may shake things up however. |
Tier List Explanations and Ranking Criteria
Our Tier List for Genshin Impact groups characters as either a Main DPS, Sub DPS or a support.
- Main DPS: A character who spends the majority of their time on-field in the team to deal massive damage.
- Sub DPS: Characters that have good elemental application to create Elemental Reactions for the team or deal high amounts of damage while off-field.
- Support: Healers, Shielders and buffers. These characters may also deal some damage while off-field but their value lies in the supportive utility they give the party.
Characters are then ranked in their respective role based on D to S+ rankings based on their damage, ease of play, elemental application, buffs they provide to the team and how widely used they are.
Characters in the same tier are simply in alphabetical order and generally speaking it is pointless to compare characters in the same tier due to them rarely overlapping directly in roles and having different elements that allow them to be more or less suitable based on the fight.
