Character Ascension Material in Genshin Impact
Character Ascension Materials are gems that can be farmed from normal and weekly bosses, which are used exclusively for ascending characters. The exact gems used depend on the character's element and the level of the ascension (the higher the level, the higher the rarity of the required gems).
How To Use Character Ascension Materials
Every character uses gems for its Ascensions. Each element has its own set of gems and characters from a given element will use the gems of that element. For example, Bennett (a Pyro character) will use:
- 1x Agnidus Agate Sliver for his first Ascension;
- 9x Agnidus Agate Fragment for his second (3) and third (6) Ascensions;
- 9x Agnidus Agate Chunk for his fourth (3) and fifth (6) Ascensions;
- 6x Agnidus Agate Gemstone for his sixth Ascension.
By comparison, Raiden Shogun (an Electro character), will use:
- 1x Vajrada Amethyst Sliver for her first Ascension;
- 9x Vajrada Amethyst Fragment for her second (3) and third (6) Ascensions;
- 9x Vajrada Amethyst Chunk for her fourth (3) and fifth (6) Ascensions;
- 6x Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone for her sixth Ascension.
The Traveler's Exception
Unlike other characters, the Traveler uses Brilliant Diamond gems that are exclusively acquired from Adventure Rank, the gems for the last ascension being given at Adventure Rank 45.
