Xingqiu Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Strengths

This build focuses on being able to consistently apply Hydro for teams such as Bloom, Vaporize and Hyperbloom. Being able to consistently apply Hydro via Guhua Sword: Raincutter is incredibly important.

Xingqiu works well with a large range of 5-star weapons so several 4 Star options have been provided. He is weaker than all of those 5-star options and a few others. Depending on your Energy Recharge breakpoints (see next section) you may want to consider a weapon that provides Energy Recharge instead.

Sacrificial Sword is a common weapon to also alleviate these issues and can be incredibly comfortable allowing you to use Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen but be warned it can make your rotations be mistimed due to needing to use a second Elemental Skill.

Exact Energy Recharge requirements vary based on your specific team composition, certain character skills, the weapons your team has and if Xingqiu will be on-field to pick up the particles.

Xingqiu's Elemental Skill, Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen, and Burst, Guhua Sword: Raincutter are incredibly useful, when using Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen be careful that you do not swap characters too early to ensure Hydro Particles are collected if you need the energy for your Burst.

At lower constellations, you want to use your Skill first however at C4 you should use your Burst before your Skill for increased damage. This is assuming you have the energy to do so.

Be careful when using either Skill or Burst! They both apply the Wet status to yourself. This can be useful to cleanse anything such as burning off but does cause Cryo to freeze you.

Many people may compare Xingqiu to his 5-star counterpart, Yelan. However, Xingqiu offers increased Hydro application for reactions and survivability instead of the damage Yelan provides.

Many team compositions will actually use both Xingqiu and Yelan at the same time.

Many of the characters are flexible simply requiring a Hydro, Dendro and Electro unit. The final position can be flexibile, giving you a wide range of potential Hyperbloom compositions

The National team is a popular team composition involving Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennett and a Main DPS in the flex position. While there are a range of variants, the above 2 using Raiden Shogun and Childe are generally the strongest. With Raiden Shogun's' team commonly being referred to as Rational, and Childe's team commonly being referred to as International.

Xingqiu's powerful Hydro application allows various elemental reactions to take place within these comps.

Another one of Xingqiu's popular teams works alongside Yelan to allow Hu Tao to easily gain massive damage from Vaporize reactions. You can run this team composition with just Xingqiu and replace Yelan for Albedo for Double Geo or even an Electro character for a more overload focused comp.
