Earning Gold in Hearthstone
There are 4 ways to earn gold in Hearthstone:
- completing Daily Quests;
- completing Unique Quests;
- winning games in Play Mode;
- playing in the Arena.
Hearthstone Daily Quests
Players receive one new daily quest each day, which can be viewed in your Quest Log. Players can have up to three daily quests in their log at any time, and will be unable to receive any new daily quests so long as there are uncompleted quests in their Quest Log. For this reason, we recommend that players who are looking to acquire gold as quickly as possible ensure they always have at least one open slot in their Quest Log at the end of each day.
Daily quests reward between 40 and 100 gold each, and can be completed in Play Mode or in the Arena. You can not complete Daily Quests by challenging your friends or by playing against the AI.
Once per day you may replace one daily with a new random quest by pressing the small X in the upper right corner of the quest in your Quest Log. We recommend that you replace each quest which does not reward 60 or more gold, as there is there a chance it will be replaced by a new quest that does.

Earning Gold in Play Mode
Winning 3 games in Play Mode awards 10 Gold, up to a maximum of 100 Gold per day. This feature is exclusive to Play Mode (both Casual and Ranked games count towards your progression), which means you will not benefit from it while playing the Arena, Practice Mode, or when challenging your friends.
Earning Prizes in the Arena
Entry into the Arena costs 150 Gold (or 1.99 USD / 1.49 GPB / 1.79 EUR). Regardless of the outcome, each Arena run is guaranteed to reward one pack of cards. Most players choose to invest all of their hard-earned Gold in the Arena instead of buying packs from the Shop. This is due to the fact that the Arena will typically reward more than 150 Gold in prizes to any player who can achieve three or more wins before they lose three games. Additionally, playing the Arena is a great way to improve your understanding of the game's strategy and mechanics. By becoming a better player in the Arena you will likely receive a greater return on your investment of Gold than if you choose to spend your Gold on packs.
Below we have listed the rewards you can expect to receive from the Arena. In addition to the listed rewards you will always receive a Card Pack, as well as a chance to receive a random card as a reward (this card could be of any rarity, and can even be golden). When we mention an amount of combined Gold and Dust, the distribution of these two resources is not fixed. For example, if we mention that you can receive 50 combined Gold and Dust, this could end up being 50 Gold, 50 Dust, or some other combination such as 20 Gold and 30 Dust. Note that each extra win upgrades the "key" used to unlock the rewards.

Tavern Brawl
Players with at least one level 20 class are able to participate in the Tavern Brawl each week, which is typically released between Monday and Wednesday. The first Tavern Brawl win each week rewards players with at least one Classic card pack. During special events and holidays, Tavern Brawls will often reward even greater prizes. Due to the substantial rewards that the Tavern Brawl offers for winning a single game, we highly recommend that players make a point of participating in every available Tavern Brawl.
End of Season Rewards
Players who participate in the ranked ladder will receive end of season rewards on the first day of each month. The end of season reward is determined by your "Treasure Chest", or the highest rank you were able to achieve at any point during the month. In addition to the rewards listed below, all players will receive a card back for reaching rank 20.
Due to the substantial increase in Dust rewarded for reaching ranks 15 and 5, many players choose to play ranked mode every month until they achieve one of these two ranks.
