Carrion Grub is a Hunter-only minion. This card was introduced with Whispers of the Old Gods and can now only be obtained through crafting. Below the card images, you will find explanations to help you use the card optimally in every game mode of Hearthstone.

General Comments

Carrion Grub is a card that does not exactly play into the strategy of most Hunter decks that are usually looking to be aggressive and favour higher attack minions. However, it can still be powerful as it helps you to fight back against other aggressive decks and represents a fantastic target to curve into Houndmaster.

Constructed Play

In Constructed, many Hunter decks will include Carrion Grub as a single copy to essentially serve as a third copy of Animal Companion and increase the consistency of your draws. On top of this, any deck that plays Houndmaster should consider also playing Carrion Grub.

Arena

Carrion Grub is a strong card in Arena. 2/5 stats on turn 3 is an effective ratio, although generally 3/4 minions or Animal Companion would be preferred.
