Teron Gorefiend Battlegrounds Guide
This guide provides in-depth information to help you play the Shadow Council's very own Teron Gorefiend: your general gameplan, tribe and composition synergy, and additional tips to win with the hero.
Teron Gorefiend
Gameplan
Teron Gorefiend makes an appearance in the Battlegrounds with a gamebreaking Hero Power in Rapid Reanimation! Choose a minion with your hero power, and it will die and be re-summoned when board space is available. Use your 0-cost hero power early with Reborn and Deathrattle minions, and in the late game with impactful minions that can help you scale and win the game.
Tribes
As you may expect from Rapid Reanimation, any tribe that hosts many valueable Deathrattle minions and synergies line up well for Teron. Undead, Beast and Mech tribes can all secure a top 4 placement with ease.
Undead minions are great for Teron as all of their synergies benefit from other minions dying in combat. Although there are many more options in the tribe, some minons to look for throughout the game include Soulsplitter, Anub'arak, Nerubian King, Colossus of the Sun and Sister Deathwhisper. When targeted, these minions can create a difficult board for most tribes to deal with late in the game.
Beasts are likewise a strong and fun option to pursue as Teron Gorefiend. Pick up early Deathrattles like Rat Pack to flood your board with rats that will synergize with units like Bird Buddy. Building around Goldrinn, the Great Wolf and Titus Rivendare is a simple way to get started with the composition around Turn 7 or 8.
Teron can make Mech minions work to great effect as well, letting minions be boosted by multiple Omega Buster procs. Build a board with Omega Buster, Deflect-o-Bot, and Kangor's Apprentice to chain minion summons together and keep your shields up to crush your opponents.
Important Tips & Interactions
A very unique trait of Teron is that as of his introduction in patch 25.4, he is only offered in lobbies that have either Beasts or Undead present. This is a large advantage over some heroes who prefer certain compositions like Lich Baz'hial and Demons or Greybough and Beasts. Make sure to make use of the tribes' natural synergy with Teron—they are literally meant for each other!
Teron's Hero Power Rapid Reanimation is something Battlegrounds has not seen before: the ability to not waste any deathrattles by the nature of re-summoning a minion once there is space on your board. Always remember to use your hero power on the most impactful minion each turn. For example, an Eternal Summoner can scale their Deathrattle minions, Eternal Knight, very quickly with this Hero Power.
Early in the game when you do not have a full board of minions, always look to take a Reborn or Deathrattle minion for the greatest tempo of your Hero Power. Another useful perk of this Hero Power is to activate Avenge minions like Corpse Refiner. With Refiner, a coin can be generated off of one Hero Power use and attack of a minion like Scallywag, creating a huge boost in economy for you later in the game.
