General Information

Welcome to our guide for Li Li, a Healer in Heroes of the Storm. Within these pages, you will find everything required to understand how best to play this hero, in both different map styles and team compositions.

1.

Li Li's Overview

Li Li is a Healer that provides a high amount of sustain healing but a low amount of burst healing, something that makes her particularly good in prolonged team fights and bad in other scenarios, unless she can get some value out of her Blind to mitigate a considerable amount of damage.

Li Li's Talent Build Cheatsheet

Cloud Serpent Build

Recommended
Level 1 Serpent Sidekick Icon
Level 4 Wind Serpent Icon
Level 7 Let's Go! Icon The Good Stuff Icon ? Mass Vortex Icon ?
Level 10 Jug of 1,000 Cups Icon Water Dragon Icon ?
Level 13 Lightning Serpent Icon
Level 16 Blessings Of Yu'lon Icon
Level 20 Jug of 1,000,000 Cups Icon Double Dragon Icon ?

Li Li's Cloud Serpent Build turns you into a battle Healer who can provide a fair amount of healing and deal a decent amount of damage at the same time, a combination that is particularly suited for drawn-out team fights.

The combination of Wind Serpent Icon Wind Serpent at Level 4 and Lightning Serpent Icon Lightning Serpent at Level 13 allows her to constantly pressure the enemy team with low but steady damage, especially if you can get value from Fast Feet Icon Fast Feet for Serpent Sidekick Icon Serpent Sidekick at Level 1.

While good on its own, prefer this Build when playing Li Li together with another Healer as it increases your damage (as explained already) and their healing, thanks to Blessings Of Yu'lon Icon Blessings Of Yu'lon at Level 16.

Healing Brew Build

Situational
Level 1 Free Drinks Icon
Level 4 Wind Serpent Icon
Level 7 The Good Stuff Icon
Level 10 Jug of 1,000 Cups Icon
Level 13 Lightning Serpent Icon
Level 16 Two For One Icon
Level 20 Jug of 1,000,000 Cups Icon

Li Li's Healing Brew Build is designed to increase sustain healing, something that helps against damage over time effects (Lunara comes to mind) and can easily keep your team topped off during team fights.

In particular, Two For One Icon Two For One helps you to keep multiple allied Heroes in a good shape with the help of Free Drinks Icon Free Drinks at Level 1 and The Good Stuff Icon The Good Stuff at Level 7 that synergize well all together.

ARAM Build

Li Li's Synergies and Counters

V Li Li synergizes with

Li Li does very well with Heroes who can mitigate burst damage on their own because it allows her to succeed against burst damage, where she otherwise struggles. That said, this is not a concern when facing team compositions that lack burst damage altogether.

While not really a synergy, Li Li also does well with Heroes who have strong waveclear as she is not able to directly contribute to macro pressure in a meaningful way.

Last but not the least, Li Li does not have access to hard crowd control effects, therefore she will perform way better when paired with Heroes who can provide it.

Considering how her Abilities and Talents work, Li Li is pretty interesting to play together with a burst Healer, but make sure to still have a well-rounded team composition when doing so.

X Li Li is countered by

Healing Brew Icon Healing Brew is not very effective against burst damage because it does not heal that much and has a relatively slow animation.

Li Li is also countered by crowd control that can interrupt her Heroic Abilities.

Li Li's Maps

Li Li's stronger maps
Battlefield of Eternity Dragon Shire Hanamura Temple Volskaya Foundry
Li Li's average maps
Alterac Pass Braxis Holdout Cursed Hollow Garden of Terror Infernal Shrines Tomb of the Spider Queen Towers of Doom Warhead Junction
Li Li's weaker maps
Blackheart's Bay Sky Temple

Li Li's viability is not relative to the environment, but to the Heroes on either team, especially in the enemy one. While she performs consistently on most Maps, she tends to do slightly better where team fights take longer as she can get more value from her sustain healing, especially if accompanied by another Healer or just a Support, and slightly worse on Maps where waveclear is important.

Li Li's Tips and Tricks

  • Sometimes Healing Brew Icon Healing Brew requires you to position near who you want to heal because they are in danger and far from who you do not want to heal because they are already safe.
  • Due to its short Attack Range while active, Cloud Serpent Icon Cloud Serpent should be used on frontline Heroes as they engage.
  • Use Blinding Wind Icon Blinding Wind only when enemy Heroes step up for doing damage because the Blind is relatively short.
  • Do not cast Jug of 1,000 Cups Icon Jug of 1,000 Cups too late during team fights, but use it to top off your team, because it is pretty slow at healing.
  • When safe to do so, intentionally take a small amount of damage to activate Fast Feet Icon Fast Feet for a few seconds, then repeat if possible.
7.

Li Li's Role in the Current Meta

Li Li is very effective in prolonged team fights, where her sustain healing has time to accumulate into a substantial Health advantage for her team. On the other hand, she cannot do much against burst damage.

While she is capable of functioning as the only Healer for her team, however, she can be played as Support alongside another Healer with success by changing some Talents to increase her damage output and utility.
